The moulding shows a traditional Viking long boat of the type that took the Scandinavian sailors around most of the known world and possibly some not known at the time. The paperweight carries a gold label with the following words"B.F. Norge Design Eda Krystall" Eda is a small town in Värmland County Sweden with a glass works started in 1830. In 1862 a new site opened across the border in Norway. The original production site in Sweden closed in 1933. Glass from the Norway site. Now called Magnor Glassworks, continues to sold from stores in Eda. The OBJECT is in very good condition. The paperweight weighs about 522 grams.
