vintage Viking style bearded axe hatchet POLISHED custom handle hammer knife mod
Up for grabs is my version of a bearded viking style axe that was not only fun to make but also challenging in a few ways. Ok in a whole lot of ways.This axe is approx. 24 inches long.The head on this axe is one that I custom cut and reshaped out of an old Collins brush hook( or bill hook Ive seen them called)This was a tough piece of steel to work with, I was a little out of my element on this one, but I went slow and used all my patience and the end result is what you see.There is no damage to this head, there are no bends, chips, big pits or cracks.You will see a line on one side that looks like a crack but it is not, that line is the forge weld from the piece of steel being wrapped around to form the eye and then heated and forged into the cheek of the blade, typically these brush hooks are just arc welded when it comes to joining the ... moreeye to the blade, but I chose to use a Collins Brush axe because the Collins ones are froge welded opposed to arc welded like the other brands, I think both are plenty strong joints, but the Collins forge weld just looks cleaner.I shaped the cutting edge to have a nice hand made feel, I made the arc shape to appear hand made and there is a bit of a wobble in the middle. I tried to get it as perfect as I could but just couldnt get the small wobble to go away, I did my best and once again Im sure Im being way over critical on myself and pointing out something that only I see and isnt a big deal, Im sure winning bidder will agree Im fussin over nuttin!After I got done reshaping this head into the viking/celtic awesome shape you now see I then polished the whole head and then gave her a nice streaked/raindrop type gun blued finish for a nice dark look and feel.The shape came out nice I think, I was going for a semi subtle evil feel and wasnt trying to make her too gothic, I feel she shaped out nice and classy. The cutting edge is lethal sharp like a knife so do not mistake her for a toy at any time.The

This is an offer to completely recondition YOUR Viking 6000 series sewing machine. Any model from the 6010 to the 6570. does not include the 6690 which introduced electronic motors replacing the mechanical controls) DOES YOUR VIKING 6000 series machine have knobs that have gotten stiff to turn. Or completely frozen? Is the needle stuck in left position? Is the reverse button stiff or completely stuck? Is the zigzag mistimed, or not working at all? Is the thread take-up arm loose, perhaps even clattering like a machine gun? ANY OF THESE SYMPTOMS mean your machine is now suffering from two flaws which these otherwise excellent machines have. Which have appeared now that it has reached a certain age. They can be cured, however, and your machine restored to its original functionality. STIFFNESS IN THE MECHANISMS is caused by the grease that was ... moreput in when it was manufactured. Which has now hardened into a waxlike consistency, causing the mechanisms to jam and stick. Problems with the zigzag and cam stitches, and the take-up arm, are caused by two parts made of plastic with a metal core- theoretically due to slight temperature changes of the metal core, the plastic molded around it gets fatigued over time and cracks, sometimes splitting right in two. The stiffness is CURED by complete disassembly and cleaning out that old grease. Then reassembling using modern teflon-based lubricant. Viking cured the problem with the two parts with a re-formulation of the plastic material used. IN THE PHOTOS you can see the mechanism that lives behind the stitch selector dial. Disassembled for cleaning, and reassembled, ready to re-install. Note in the disassembled picture, the yellowish grease visible on the frame, upper left- the culprit! and the cracked cam, center. Behind the other knobs are other other mechanisms which need to be disassembled and cleaned. After the machine is all cleaned and assembled, of course, it needs to be carefully adjusted and tuned. Large Plaster Viking Interlacing Dragon Style Runic Standing Stone Plaque
This is designed to look like 1 of the many carved standing stones in Scandinavia. Perhaps this is an actual copy, I don't really know. I bought it at our local Renaissance Festival some years ago. It is made of cast plaster with a resin like coating covering the front and sides in a somewhat Urnes carving style. It measures almost 15" tall by 4 7/8" wide at base. I drilled a hole in the back so I could use a nail to hang it on the wall. This weighs 2 pounds 6 ounces. Thanks for your bid!
