Authentic Japanese Gendaito: Signed[Chonsai] Emura Saku. Chonsai Emura is a swordsmith from the WWII Era. Highly revered by collectors for producing high quality blades. His blades are considered true Nihonto, swords made using traditional forging techniques, in which the steel is folded and water quenched. Such swords of this era are called Gendaito. Commentary: During World War II. A swordsmith named Chounsai Emura. Originally from Tokushima in Shikoku, operated a swordmaking school on the grounds of the Okayama Prison.
