In very good condition, and dating to the late Georgian period c.1820- 30's. The caddy is oval in form with a border of applied gadrooning to the base& rim. And the raised oval neck with a very slightly domed hinged lid. The base is stamped with a X over 4& there is also a later pawn brokers scratch mark 2/A/1 SP. Condition is extremely good. This is a very rare solid flame mahogany William IV tea ca ddy that features highl y intr icate hand carved roses and petals on the top of the lid and burr maple interior lids with brass handles. This piece looks to have been made from one'crotch' area of the mahogany tree. Giving it that wonderful flame effect. The plate is more like a saucer with gently upturned rim. See the pics of the back. The lid of the caddy is a loose fit but I think probably made this way. Focke& Meltzer was a shop in glass and crockery. The headquarters was on Herengracht 93 in Amsterdam. The company was founded in 1823 by Sebastian Meltzer. French Focke and Anton Eberhart, all from Bohemia. These were de-accessioned from the Cincinnati Art Museum and have their collection numbers painted on the base in red. Good afternoon from Congers. NY. I saw this unusual item from across the room, and I knew I wanted to buy it. The flambe blue glaze attracted me. I was more excited when I studied the gilded sterling silver collar and saw the Cartier marks. Happy bidding! A beautiful MP Sevres(Paul Milet Studios) vessel. I believe that the item is intended as a tea caddy. The lid fits quite securely. And it seems about the right size and shape. In any event, a covered jar. It is appx. 6" to the top of the lid. It is appx.3.5" x 3 3/8" not perfectly square) It is appx. 5 1/8" to the top of the silvered rim. Signed on the bottom"MP Sevres" in a circular mark(see photos) also signed"LF" almost certainly an artists mark or a decorators mark. Marked on the underside of the lid. On the silver, Cartier Made In France" ... morealso marked"Cartier Made In France" on the collar, along with a French high standard silver mark(950) it is an 8-sided stamp with the Minerva head(very hard to see in photos, if you are familiar with the mark, you can see it fairly easily under magnification in person) The mark is"upside down" with respect to the item. There is also a number etched in the rim(looks like a retailers mark, it is not a SS# or other number) A wonderful item, clearly made at great expense, retailed by Cartier. 100% guaranteed to be vintage, authentic Cartier retailed goods. The silver needs a better polishing than the quick once over we gave it. There is a small rough spot on the silver collar where a piece of lacquer has not quite come loose. The ceramic part is in excellent condition. Having an area where there are 3 small scuff marks(there scratches are 5-7 mm long) Really, they do not detract from the overall beauty of the item. I shot the scuff marks with raking light so you could see them, then shot the same side of the caddy without the raking light, and you can see that they are relatively inoffensive. No date. It is in great shape with the only issue being crazing to the clear glaze and some gold loss around the rim near where the fitted top sits and on the handles. It measures 6 3/4" tall and is 7" across from handle to handle. It is marked Royal Ironstone China. Warranted, with the English Coat of Arms. It has no maker's mark. Small. Light and delicate. Ornate letter'P' on handle with simple engraved pattern and scalloped body. The marks on the spoon are confusing as I am not clear on the Assay mark, and the makers mark is not in line and upside down. There is a lion- not clear if lion passant, or lion for the London Assay office/ S' date stamp(small'tails' in the middle of letter can just be made out) which would tally with 1773 and the maker's mark 1770 to 1815/ sovereign's head/ SA in rectangle minus a corner- Looks like Stephen Adam I or Stephen Adam II. Description Antique 18th Century Georgian Solid Silver bottle shaped Tea Caddy. Compressed oval form, the detachable domed cover has a vase shaped finial. The body is beautifully hand embossed with two foliate scrolled reserves between floral garlands. The piece has a peculiar sliding base. Unmarked on body and cover(as usual for this kind of objects) the sliding base is Hallmarked English Silver(925 Standard) the other marks are rubbed and not clear. The piece is probably by Samuel Taylor(specialist maker of tea caddy, active in London from 1744 to 1768) Condition In Good Condition- no damage. Marks are rubbed. Beautifully decorated with a pierced silver setting, twin cast caryatid handles and hinged lid. Two vacant shields mounted on the coconut body. Not hallmarked as if often the case, but has been acid tested and shows to be high grade silver 925+, made around the 1750-1760. Condition In Great Condition- no damage. This has been in a private collection for the past 50 years, and is the first time it is being offered for sale. It measures approximately 3 3/8 inches long by 1 3/8 at its widest, and weighs 11 grams. It has the original Family crest monogram that I believe reads FLL. An unusual antique carved wooden treen brush pot. Tea caddy, jar, pot. The carving depicting a picket fence bound with a leather belt with buckle. The main body of the carving is carved out of one piece of wood and the circular base from another. It may have been made as it is or there may originally have been a pot liner and lid or either one or neither of these, I cannot say as I personally haven't seen one like it before. The wood possibly walnut. Lovely patina and very tactile to handle. There is one hard to see very fine short crack and some tiny little holes/ marks to one point at the top just above the buckle. It is early and dates back to the 1885. Properly hallmarked underneath with the maker and date mark, retailer and"sterling' This caddy is made in a very elegant, smooth shape and the silver has a matte finish to it. Large bowl measures about 7 1/4" across x 2" high, and each small dish about 2 5/8" across x 1 1/2" high. Everything in excellent condition with some wear on finish; and. 5) an antique lacquer on lathe-turned wood NATSUME TEA CADDY with hand painted cherry blossom decoration. Deep cordovan red on outside and black on inside. It is slightly wider at the top than at the base. With cap lid on. It measures 2 7/8" high x 2 1/2" across top x 2 1/4" across base. There are small areas of lacquer loss on top of lid and one or two spots on sides and inside. A great lot of items starting low with no reserve!

RARE Antique Chinese Pewter Figural Globe Tea Caddy Jar Box Swatow Signed Hello bidders. Up for bid today is a fantastic Chinese pewter tea caddy by Swatow in the form of a globe of the world on stand. This piece has latitude and longitude lines with continents along with Chinese characters for the different continents. The lid lifts to allow access to a removable jar with lid. The piece is signed with a sun symbol inside the lid along with the logo for Swatow to underside of the removable jar. The piece does have some small dents around the globe. The pewter is soft so I believe these could be removed by a competent hand. The piece has been polished at some point and very much resembles silver. FRUIT WOOD APPLE SHAPED TEA CADDY WITH KEY
Apple shaped tea caddy with original foil liner in decent shape. The caddy has been refinished at some point I am sure but the finish looks great. A nice striped fruit wood color. The caddy stands 5 inches tall to the top of the stem and approx. 4 inches across. The original key works perfectly. I have not cleaned this caddy or the key, I will leave that up to the new owner.
