Rare antique postcard showing an early Stickley Brothers Arts& Crafts interior rendering in color. It is full of Stickley Brothers furniture. This interior view was originally drawn by native Scotsman David Robertson Smith. One of their early and extremely gifted designers. He first worked for Albert Stickley in London circa 1901, then was convinced to come to America. He won major awards for Stickley Brothers at the 1904 Louisiana Purchase Exhibition in St. Louis. It is a postcard that was likely provided by Stickley Brothers or the Grand Rapids Furniture Record to retailers. It has a calendar on the backside that is for November 1911 and the postcard is postmarked 1911. This same image is shown on page 110 in the book: The Stickley Brothers" a reference book by noted Arts& Crafts era historians.Michael E. Clark(who sadly recently ... morepassed away in 2012) and his wife Jill Thomas-Clark. Bridgeport, Connecticut.makers of fine art metal products(see last two photos) The cast metal(looks like brass.could be brass plated) candle holder is in the Arts& Crafts style w/ faux radial hammering. The underside has a lightly textured surface that gives one the impression that this was sand cast. It is extremely heavy duty. It weighs 1 lb. 7 oz. The condition is flawless and appears to be all original. There are two drawers. One with the red Gustav Stickley stamp. The other drawer has the incredibly RARE PAPER LABEL from the Craftsman Workshop of New York showing the handwritten#613 catalogue number. Under the table is even the blue grease pen marking from the workshop inspector showing 613 over 2(for two drawer model) The tiger oak is spectacular and the flecking of the grain patterns is awesome. RARE Gustave Stickley Commisioned Portrait Plaque of President William McKinley
This is an Ultra Rare Memorial Plaque of President William McKinley Commissioned by Gustav Stickley in 1901 and Designed and cast by Edwin C. Kruger copyright 1901. The Cast Iron Plaque is 16.5 inches in diameter and in Very Good condition with only light rust on its reverse which I have just used a brass brush to remove. Ultra Rare because the only mention of the plaque is in a 2010 Sotheby's Auction where in its Stickley Frame it sold for $8.750. A photo of it in its Stickley Frame is included. No other works or castings by Edwin C. Kruger are known. He must have been part of the Craftsman Workshops of Gustav Stickley. Impossible to find another add this to your collection. Shipping $35.00. Antique Mission Style Arm Chairs (2) Hand Planed,Dowled (Stickley?)
For your consideration is this pair of early century Mission style oak arm chairs. Each chair appears to have been hand made; as the wood shows signs of being hand planed. The joinery is all reinforced with 1/4 dowels(except for corner braces on the under side that I think were added much later. The joints consist of elaborate slat and groove construction. I could not find any markings at all on these chairs. There appears to be a very old repair to one of the legs; but it is rather obvious that it was done by an experienced person(maybe twenty years or so after being made) The chair are very sound. As well as the seats. There is some wear on the arms, and bottom of the legs. Please examine the pictures and the joinery. This is a great Arts& Crafts era mahogany umbrella stand. A classic A& C form. It is very functional and has a lot of really nice detailing that separates it from the generic models. Size is 10" X 14" X 28" tall. Fine original finish.deep rich color. Excellent original condition. Made of tight grained mahogany. It is heavy(like oak) weighing 8 lbs. Details of construction.the most notable feature are the octagonal shaped posts w/ beveled tops. The beveled edges on the divider grid at the top(helps to avoid the edge chipping so commonly seen in that area) the solid copper drip pan, and the heavy brass trimmed feet. A real unique piece! Stickley 1902 Mission Line sideboard needs hardware and plate holder
This appears to be a Stickley Sideboard. It's made of quarter sawn white oak. It is a family heirloom. I don't know the original story as to when the family acquired it or who removed the hardware. The plate holder is missing. But there are 3 holes near the back on the top each hole has a slot on the back where the plate holder mounted. It is somewhat unique in that it is asymmetrical. There is an original plate in the 1902 style. There is also still a faint stamp with the model number ending in 607(see pic) The original finish has been removed. There is no original hardware on it(the hardware on it is new and just for functionality) I have not been able to find a similar image online to determine the model number. Original Stickley Brothers Mission Quartersawn Oak Settle Arts & Crafts
For sale is this lovely Stickley Brothers mission oak settle. We have enjoyed this settle for several years now but must pass it on to a new owner as we no longer have a good place for it. This is an original piece of Stickley Brothers furniture. Please see the photo of the Stickley paper label that is present on the underside of the settle. This piece is probably from the later part of the arts and crafts period, I think around 1915 or so. It is made entirely of quarter sawn white oak with amazing tiger grain. The settle has the original finish which is in nice condition overall. There are some nicks and marks around the sides and legs that are commiserate with age but none are distracting. The cushions are covered in a dark red vinyl material which is not original. I am not sure if the cushions themselves are original or not. This is a ... morewell built piece of furniture that is still solid after nearly 100 years. EDIT: Forgot to mention that it measures approximately 71" long. 30" wide and 40" high at the back. Also.on the back panel there are four tiny holes near the top where perhaps someone tacked it to hang from their closet door. If it wasn't for these minor issues. Lovely old chair with original finish and light wear. Very solid with no looseness. The chair is signed with the red logo. Normal wear with a couple of dings. There are 4 tniy hole in each brace on the inside. I do not know why they are there. I bought the chair from a dealer and he told me they may have had a fabric pinned there. Not sure. With some effort, the weights, pendulum and dial would shine like new but I know lots of folks like their brass with a century of patina on them so I'm leaving it up to the buyer. Rare Trumpet Base Hammered Copper MICA LAMP CO Table Lamp arts & crafts Stickley
Hard to find early MICA LAMP COMPANY trumpet base hammered copper table lamp w/ three paneled mica shade. This is an example of their early production.as far as I can tell they stopped making these hammered surface lamps years ago.too bad as they were one of the best thing this company ever made. Signed a couple of times w/ impressed mark and metal tag. Very good condition. Original dark patina is intentionally slightly mottled(see photos) Hammered surfaces throughout and even the shade supports have a hammered texture.so this lamp looks more like a vintage piece from the A& C/ Mission Oak era. Size: 15-1/2" tall. Shade is 14-1/4" diameter. The mica panels on the shade are factory glued-in-place and on one of the panels. Antique L&JG Stickley Even Arm Settle Original Finish
This is a gorgeous L&JG Stickley Even Arm Settle. I believe it dates pre 1906 by the stamp. I'm not an expert. But according to my research, this signature was changed in 1906. That being said, it is very old, but in wonderful antique condition! It has the usual minor dings on the corners, but overall there are no deep scratches, cracks or other noticeable damage. All of the wood is intact. It retains its original finish which is a warm slightly reddish medium to dark oak. It has the original castors. The cushion was replaced at some time. It has a foam cushion on it that has been covered in a rustic vinyl. It looks like real leather, but it's not. It comes with the Southwest and African pillows. I think I paid about $200.00 just for the custom pillows. The pillows all unzip at the bottom so they can be cleaned. I love this piece, ... morebut no longer have the room for it, so it needs a new home. Shipping will be the buyer's responsibility. I will assist any way possible. Of course. Arts Crafts Nouveau Gothic Iron Lantern Fixture porch light sconce stickley era
This is a very rare and heavy arts crafts/ nouveau/ gothic iron hanging lantern. The lantern. Chain and back plate look to be original including it's nice green paint. Nice detail throughout including the chain links. There is some oxidation on the lantern.The socket might be original.The mica has been replaced and is in pretty good condition Overall a great looking fixture. On May 22. 2011 lot# 233 a set of 4 identical fixtures sold at Treadways for $ 3000 without premium. The maker is unknown to me but did create a great lighting fixture. The photos make the fixture a look little washed out.

It remains completely sealed on the back with original paper and wire hanger. The closed corners on this frame are beautifully carved in an Arts& Crafts/ Art Nouveau style. It has 3 shelves with 3 vertical spindles on each side. It has an old refinish. Some light wear to finish on top shelf and a few nicks here and there. It measures 32" high by 19" wide by 12" deep.
