Original Arts n Crafts Stickley Period Gothic Arch Hammered Copper/Brass Inkwell

This auction is for an amazing Arts n Crafts period inkwell made of hand hammered copper and brass. With original hinged lid and fitted glass insert. The item consists of three separate parts, including an undertray, the domed and lidded well cover, and the glass insert. The tray measures 6 inches square with curled edges and four dimple feet. The original patina can be best seen on this piece. The fitted circle where the glass insert sits, as well as the area where the domed cover sits, are shinier than the area that was not covered, showing how much oxidation has occurred over the years. The glass insert measures 2-5/8 inches in diameter, and is ... more2-1/4 inches tall. The bottom has a ground circular foot. There is a shallow flake off the edge of the foot. The inkwell cover measures 4-1/8 inches tall and is 3-7/8 inches in diameter at the base. It has a hinged ball lid. The hinge is connected with a thin piece of wire. All of the finishing nails in this piece are hand hammered copper. In fact, the entire piece is hand hammered. It is in excellent condition, with a fabulous patina. This is a Stickley Bros dining table with two tops. The damaged top is the original and is needs expert restoration as the surface is damaged and needs TLC. The top on the table with dishes displayed on it is not the right'fit' but it is on display at Port City Antiques in Duluth and I'm including both tops in this auction. I also have 5 Stickley chairs that are available in a separate auction. Could combine if requested. The base has Stickley label on top of the trunk and under the table top. This is commonly referred to as a Popsicle Rocker because the back slats come through the bottom like the bottom of a Popsicle stick. The finish looks to be a very nice dark deep brown. The cushion is original and in very good condition. The leather is a distressed brown. The chair has the original tack that held the paper label. Tobey Stickley Oak Arts and Crafts Library or Trestle Table
Here is a wonderful Arts and Crafts oak trestle or library table fresh from a Nebraska estate. I believe it was made by Tobey Furniture but it is not shown in the Tobey book. It has a similar cutout on the ends as some others in the Tobey book. The top is a full one inch thick and has clip corners. The table is 42 inches by 25 1/2 inches and is 29 1/4 inches tall. It has a bottom shelf with a cutout at each end. The splayed ends give this a wonderful look. The bottom shelf has through tenon with pegs. It is in excellent condition. No stains and just some minor scratches which I have tried to show in the photos. There are some touched up scratches on one side shown in photos 3 and 4. The bottom of the feet are slightly dry and could be touched up with finish but there is no rot or deterioration of the wood. Gustav Stickley Arts & Crafts 729 Drop Front Desk Five Drawer Original Finish
Estate fresh! A fantastic vintage Gustav Stickley arts and crafts 729 drop front desk. Early 20th century made around 1909. Decent original finish with hammered copper pulls and complete pigeon hole gallery insert inside with key. Two over three drawers. Thru-tenon slab sides and pegged to the front lower stretcher also pegged in the front by the top. Condition is very good but the drop needs restoration. It has numerous chips in the veneer. Some roughness on the edges and front corner on the feet and edges but typical wear from something that's over one hundred years old. The pigeon hole gallery inside has some wear and the door is cracked and needs repair. Slight separation on the left slab side but very tight. No wobbles or looseness. Measurements are approximately 36.5" wide by about 15" deep and is 45" high. Signed ... morewith the red decal compass mark inside the right drawer. Mid-Century Stickley Cherry Valley Shaving or Dresser One Drawer Mirror
This is a harder to find gorgeous piece of Stickley. A very functional and stylish piece. This one drawer shaving or dresser mirror is by L. and J.G. Stickley of Fayetteville. New York. It is a mid-century piece in their popular Cherry Valley collection and made from fine solid cherry wood. It is stamped"Stickley Fayetteville" on the reverse and the remnants of the original paper labels are on the inside of the drawer. Unfortunately the previous owner thought it was a good idea to put contact paper to line the drawer, of course ruining much of the label. This particular example is in a slightly darker cherry finish than many other Cherry Valley pieces. It stands about 23" tall, 18.5" wide, and about 8" deep. Condition wise this piece is generally in excellent shape. It appears to have been gently used. But overall ... morethere are no major problems. I did notice two very small dark spots on the mirror, but they are barely noticeable unless you give it a very close inspection. I couldn't see any real scratches or areas of finish loss. It is a solid piece that would go well in a variety of settings. I will ship USPS Economy. Thoroughly packed with the mirror removed and wrapped separately. Rare Mission Arts & Crafts Fireplace Fender Hammered Copper Gus Stickley Era
For your consideration a period mission fireplace fender. Made of thick copper. Wrapped around a wood base with a tin underside. Beautiful hand worked copper seams with studded top detail. Copper is fastened with copper tacks. Bumps in the copper from years of use blend in to the textured copper and hand hammered work. Measures: inside depth 12 inch by 48 inches side to side. Overall length 56-1/2 inches by 16 inches deep. Four inches tall. Weight before shipping 18-3/4 pounds. Antique Stickley Corner Cabinet
This is a beautiful Stickley piece. There is no key for the door and it will come open if not on a level floor. It is 66 inches high and close to 3 feet across the top. The previous owners put tape across the front to keep it shut. I have done no refinishing to this piece. It has some minor flaws that can be seen if you zoom in. This. To me seems to be normal wear and tear, but I am not an antique professional. This is a have to sell. Not a want to. So rare I cannot find an ounce of info on the internet about these pieces. Only what I remember from having read Stickley catalogs at book shows and with speaking to the original owner. I have no idea what they are worth now. I just know the person who paid for them in 1954 paid under ten dollars for the set. photo of the actual receipt) and I purchased them in 2005 from an old woman for a considerable amount of money being that they were something I had never seen before with the Stickley label. They're both a stunning green with a beautiful gold guilded patina from the famous Stickley Brothers. These pieces were original created in the 1920's post Mission and Arts and Crafts style. But by the 1950s, the Colonial Revival taste was climbing again. They also have a middle eastern Persian look with the jagged edges of the leaves. The embroidery design is of a beautiful flower petal and branches motif. The table doily fabric is silk and the embroidery has been done with shimmering silk embroidery floss threads. The table cover doilies are 8.5" in diameter. Large Signed L&JG Stickley Sideboard Circa 1912 Extra long version of this form with plate rail backsplash. Four center drawers flanked by two cabinet doors over a long linen drawer. Extra 10” in length gives this design an appealing horizontality compared to the shorter version. This design was intended to compete with the eight-leg sideboard offered by Craftsman Furniture. Cabinet doors are frame-and-panel construction with spade-tip strap hinges. Doors and drawers have original hammered copper pulls. The design features deep over-hanging spline-joined top of 5/4” stock. Curved lower apron, pinned joints and frame-and-panel construction on the sides which echoes that of the cabinet doors. The back splash and the facing of the doors and drawers is dramatic and well-matched. The cabinets each contain a removable shelf. The cabinet door locks function smoothly and the original key is included. Dimensions as follows: Top 72” x 25” Body 66” x 23 1/2” x 36”H Height with Plate Rail 49 1/4”H Doors 17 1/8”W x 20 1/8”H Cabinet interior 18 1/2”W x 21”D x 20 1/2”H Drawers 24 1/4’L x 4 1/2”H x 20 1/4”D The sideboard is in very good condition overall. There is a repair to the framing upright just to the left of the right door pull. It may be a split caused by pulling on the cabinet door while locked, since the repair occurs where the bolt enters the upright. It seems that a portion of this upright has been re-glued. Although it didn't come away entirely. There are four light water rings on the top and one possible burn ring(see photo) There is some edge roughness to the righthand door bottom and area of cabinet opening. There is a narrow 2” scratch on the top to the left of center. Closing magnets have been added to the cabinet doors at some time; the magnet has been removed from the right door. First of all. I am no expert on antiques, however I have been working in furniture retail all my life and admire great quality and craftsmanship as this chair offers. I believe it has been made entirely of white oak and some of the pieces appear to be quartersawn. They have very large stripes which leads me to believe it to be older than 100yrs or close to it. Please correct me if I'm wrong as I will change my listing. As stated before, I'm no expert. I have looked all over for a gustov stickler stamp hoping this chair to be worth 10's of thousands of dollars but he prob didn't make many student chairs. There are no stamps or hallmarks. The back looks like simple 3 slat back design. It has 2 sets of stretchers with square tenons between each legs. They are all structurally sound. I cannot see any repairs on it at all. In fact. ... moreI just noticed taking these pics, that the crack I've seen for the last 8 yrs, isn't a crack at all. It's a joint where the seat is glued together from three planks of dovetails. They are in tact, refer to the pics for better description. You can see by the pics there has been use and some very old scratches probably from moving many years ago. I am only selling to free up space in my downsized newer home and would love to pass this along to someone who can admire it as much as I have the last decade. If you know of shipping options, I can probably ship greyhound for $100 or less across the country. Also, you would have to pick it up at the closest greyhound depot, let me know. ANTIQUE L & JG STICKLEY SIDEBOARD MISSION OAK ARTS & CRAFTS
We can't believe our good fortune. We have found a nice antique mission oak L&JG Stickley sideboard#734. It has the Handcraft decal in the top center drawer. It has good fumed oak color with normal wear.This model is a very hard to find this form. Due to the desirable smaller size. This measures 48 inches wide, 20 inches deep and 44 inches at the top of the plate rail. It came from a home in central Florida and was"touched up" by a local refinishing shop before I found it. It dates from about 1906-1910 and is in very good"as found" condition. The top has been sanded and refinished and the entire piece has an overcoat with color added. The hardware is perfect and the patina is lovely. The last one of these was I saw was a train wreck, and still brought a fair price considering the condition. I believe in offering ... moregood pieces at fair prices, please see my feedback for further confirmation of this fact. The only area I see of any real imperfection is the left side panel has a seam separation which has been re-glued, but touched up.

Antique Hand Embroidered Linen 24" Table Runner Centerpiece Cover Here is a gorgeous hand embroidered table cover runner filled with really incredible hand embroidery needlework. The table cover has an Stickley. Arts and Craft Deco look to it with a floral design done in embroidery floss. Table Runner measurements: 24” x 24” approximately. The square table cover embroidery floss colors are red. Yellow, green and black. The table cover is nicely finished with a scallop finish on the outer edges. Table Runner condition: Good pre-owned condition with some imperfections. There are 11 small spots where the red embroidery thread on the outer scallop edges is missing. I have purchased red embroidery thread and am including the embroidery floss with this purchase should the buyer wish to repair it in the future(see photos 6 and 7) The shade ... moreof green embroidery floss is an olive green front side and a darker green on the reverse side(see photos 11 and 12) On the reverse side you can see that there has been color bleeding to the green floss. I did not find this to be noticeable on the front side of the table doily cover. The table runner is in"as found" condition and I have not cleaned the table cloth because of the mends required. Folks. After ten years since snagging a WALNUT Danner Revolving 4 tier bookcase, we FINALLY got one and sold it lickity split! Well. Incredibly we just got an identical piece(Solid Walnut) but this one was redone in a"fumed oak" finish to match most Stickley. Limbert and other Mission Oak treasures. The Danner stenciled signature was stripped in the process. The brass grommets were replaced with round headed brass screws that increasesd the sturdiness of this Danner revolving bookcase. Overall dimensions are 20" x 20" and 56" high. The 3 upper shelf bookcase sections measure 10 1/4" high. 10" wide and 7" deep. The sections of the lower level measure 12" high, 10- wide and 7"deep. Here's a recent Palm Springs estate find. California school hand hammered and tooled candleholder from the early 20th century. This reminds me a lot of the work of Elizabeth Eaton Burton. This is an unsigned piece. So I can't say for certain. However, many of her examples are unsigned. This piece is in great shape and is 6" tall by 4.5" at the widest.
