Demilune bas d' armoire in the French Louis XVI style has a warm, reddish brown patina, and is crafted from mahogany with rosewood or kingwood. Its clean lines will compliment a wide variety of decors, including neoclassical, English Georgian and French empire. It features a rouge marble top, crosshatch parquetry inlay, and neoclassical gilt bronze mounts including lion and goddess masks, rosettes, reed-and-tie molding, and shell and scrolling foliate motifs. It measures 46" wide, 50.25" tall and 18" deep. Interior measures 40.5" wide and 30" high, and is fitted with notched sides to accomodate two, original adjustable shelves. Available for inspection. Was appraised by value by assets for between $1500-$2500. I have the appraisal available for review. This is from it. A French provincial buffet. The raised back with a mouldedcornice and shaped frieze with nailed date, below are three shelves with balustrade galleries, the lower section with pierced steel mounts,comprising a frieze drawer above a pair of doors with cartouche shaped panels, the valence with nailed trailing leaf motifs. Date:Indistinctly dated 1873 or 1878. 1873. Measurements:The plate rack is 57" x 41"x11" and the cupboard is 51"x22 1/2 by 391/2" Additional Comments:This buffet has superb colour and patina. The base might be of earlier date and possiblylate eighteenth century. The wood is difficult to verify from the images. It appears to be of walnut or cherrywood.The upper ... moresections are vulnerable to damage and cansometimes be sympathetically replaced. If this were the case here then it maybe that the commemorative date was applied at this period ofworkshop attention and the nailed decorative detail was added to the lower section at that time.

Antique cabinet' Gorgeous antique wooden cupboard. Very old possibly late 1800's early 1900's. Beautiful wood- not sure what it is though- Oak? When we recieved this cupboard 12 years ago it had at least 5 layers of white paint- we sanded most of it to leave a rustic heritage piece. Hand carved doors and drawers with original handles still attached. One of the handles has broken off. But we still have the handle if you wanted to fix it. Top of the cupboard has a split in the wood- we covered it with photos and a cane runner. One leg at the back is missing- but this has not taken away from its functionality. This elegant English sideboard is made of walnut and is in original finish. It is hand carved with grapes and leaves and has dovetail construction. This is a quality. Well built piece of furniture. The mirror is beveled and has intact silver and the brass hardware is original. There are 3 drawers with 2 doors on either side. One door houses 2 pullouts and the other has shelves. As far as condition there are age crack in the op which I have shown in detailed pictures. There is a crack on one side. Also pictured. At the back where the mirror rests there is minor damage. The piece features double sliding doors that open to reveal two large storage areas. Each with a single height adjustable/ removable shelf. In the middle are 4 drawers for additional storage. Top two drawer is felt lined and has a removable wood segmented divider. measurements Overall 67" long by 16 3/4" deep by 29" high. Drawer interiors are each 20 1/2" wide by 12 3/4" deep by just over 3" ... morehigh. Each cabinet interior is 21 1/2" wide by 15 1/2" deep by just under 16 1/2" high. condition Overall excellent and very clean example. Doors and drawers slide smooth as silk. There is some minor light finish wear areas on the top that were near impossible to photograph. Its only to the clear coat finish. So we tried manipulating the light to make them stand out. It's the same way in person, so depending on the viewing angle and lighting the top can look perfect. Its really a non issue and in no way warrants a refinish, though one could do so for 100% perfection. Early 19th C. British Colonial Sideboard from Jamaica, West Indies, c 1820
A Magnificent and Massive Early 19th Century British Colonial Plantation Sideboard from the Island of Jamaica in the West Indies. It dates from the George IV Period and was made of solid Mahogany that was Hand-Carved by Slaves on the Plantation. C.1820. The Top of the Sideboard was made from one huge single slab of Mahogany and is 6 foot long, over two foot wide and more than two inches thick. The Front of the Sideboard bears the typical Central Square flanked by boldly carved Horizontal lines. It rests on four boldly carved and turned legs with the multiple rings and barley-twist or twisted-rope design that is characteristic of Early 19th Century Jamaican Colonial and West Indian Colonial Plantation Furniture. Antique Berkey and Gay Walnut Sideboard Buffet Server Hand Carved/Painted 1920's
Demilune or half-round shaped. This beautiful console table is signed by famous maker, Berkey and Gay. Useful in a hall, dining room or foyer, the top has a sunburst pattern in walnut burl, accented with curly elm burl and ebony banding. Classical hand-painted motifs are original. Actually a graceful ellipse or"eyebrow" shape. There is a carved finial in the trestle base. The center carved panel is a drawer front with dovetailed joinery and a removable caddy. Solid walnut. The frame is solid and strong. This beautiful American antique furniture dates from the 1920's Delivery can be arranged but local pickup is preferred.
