Descripiton 19th Century Italian Renaissance style carved walnut cabinet would be a great addition to your home. This Italian Renaissance walnut cabinet is carved with beautiful detail. The ever so classic winged maidens on the front two lower door panels that are toped with urns with beautiful foilage. The drawers. Columns, the edges, are carved with fruits and nuts and the spectacular ever so classic carved dolphins on the bottom base of this incredible cabinet. This cabinet has four doors with storage that have one shelf each. Two of these doors are hidden behind the columns on each side of the cabinet. This cabinet has three pull out drawers. One is a larger drawer with two smaller drawers on each side. This cabinet has a backsplash that attaches seperatly to the lower cabinet. The primary wood of this cabinet is walnut with the secondary ... morewood being pine. This cabinet measures 77 1/2" in length or width, 65" in height, and 47 1/2" in height to the top surface of the cabinet, 33 1/2" in depth from the wall. Condition Overall condition of this spectacular Italian cabinet is excellent used. Great patina or finish on the cabinet. On the top surface of the cabinet there is shrinkage. This shrinkage does not distract from the visual beauty of this cabinet. American Federal Inlaid Mahogany Serpentine Sideboard New York. C. 1790-1800 Item# 130204FPP20 This is a simply gorgeous American Federal Sideboard with Serpentine form. Crafted of solid Mahogany with stringer inlays during the last years of the 18th Century. The top is a single solid plank of mahogany conforming to the sharp serpentine shape of the case, affixed from the underside with entirely original hand filed steel screws- as a result of the screw joinery, coupled with years of experiencing shrinking and expanding with humidity changes, the top has experienced some light cracking along the grains(review images and condition for full overview) Beneath the slight projection of the top. A pair of drawers on either side of the case flank a pair of doors beneath a larger medial drawer. All of the drawers have the typical joinery, large colonial ... morehand dovetails beneath applied cockbead molding, the drawer bottoms sharply chamfered to slide into rabbets along the drawer frame with cut iron nails tacking the back edge. While one drawer bottom is partially poplar, the rest remain almost purely crafted of yellow pine secondary woods, the curving drawer fronts crafted with laminated yellow pine blocks beneath a fine flamed grain mahogany veneer. The composition of the veneers is remarkable, the drawers flowing from one into the next with mostly pure transitions. Fully original oval brasses smoothly operate the drawers, all of which have fine smooth action and great strength. The case rests over long tapered legs of unusual thin profiles- note the fragility of the toes. How each leg comes as close to a point as possible while raising the substantial weight of this great case. The underside is untouched, revealing a simple and effective joinery- the serpentine medial blade is pseudo-dovetailed into either front leg(note the half-dovetail form they are cut into on either end) the flanking blades tenoned into the legs with double tongues. It has a gorgeous base with three roll-front flame mahogany dovetail drawers with big glass knobs on the top row, and on the bottom are two demi-lune shaped flame mahogany doors, and three flame mahogany hand-cut dovetail curved front drawers. It has empire scroll posts going down into an empire curl foot, and a thick banded top goes up against the molded flame mahogany triple-section four-post backsplash. It does come with a key. The top has been re-sprayed to remove nicks and dings, and the front has been re-sprayed in a satin sheen lacquer to bring out the look of the flame mahogany. Other than a few nicks and dings along the top of the backsplash molding and the edge of the top, it is in unbelievable condition overall for its age. The overall size is 72 inches long, 23 inches deep, 41 inches high to the top of the base, and 51.5 inches to the top of the backsplash. The backsplash even has a plate groove so you can display plates on top. The center curved front drawers are 24 inches wide, and the doors are 15 inches wide. Here is an absolutely terrific find. Recently imported from the UK through Edinburgh and in very nice condition for an early 20th century quartersawn oak cupboard, with beautiful carvings including detailed leaves on the banquet drawers and upon the doors and mirror back top. This lovely sideboard has a nice, large serving area top surface, measuring 59 inches wide by 20 1/2 inches front to back( 24 inches deep from the front of banquet drawers) with a surface height of 38 1/2 inches tall. These are the overall dimension of the bottom section of the sideboard, which travels easily in two pieces. The top mirror back section measures 40 inches tall by 55 inches wide and 11 inches deep, front to back, at it's deepest point, allowing both top and bottom to be easily blanket wrapped for safe and easy shipping. The mirror back top features ... morecolumns, candle stands on each side 12 inches above the top surface with beveled mirrors behind to maximize reflection. These mirrors measure 15 1/2 inches tall by 12 1/2 inches wide and are clear with beveled edges as is the larger central mirror measuring 27 1/4 inches tall and 19 1/2 inches wide. The cabinet has 2 drawers. One on either side below the top surface, each 14 1/4 inches by 14 1/4 inches by 3 1/4 inches deep, and two delightfully carved banquet drawers each 18 inches wide by 16 inches front to back by 3 1/4 inches deep. Below the drawers are cabinets with beautifully carved doors. The two side cabinets measure 18 inches wide by 16 inches deep and 24 inches tall. In the bottom of the right side facing cabinet is a cellarette 16 inches by 16 inches by 4 inches tall, with room for 9 bottles with 13 inches overall clearance, that slides in and out for easy access. Above the top shelf on that side is an additional 9 inches of clearance space. The opposing cabinet is the same dimensions but divided into two shelves with 9 inches clearance above the lower shelf and 14 inches clearance above the top shelf. Crafted in the mid-20th Century, this fine American Federal Style Inlaid Mahogany Sideboard comes from one of the east coast's finest furniture manufacturers. Entirely bench made. The piece is joined with hand cut dovetails, machine beveled panels that slide into rabbets in the frame throughout and fine stamped hardware. The grains selected for the mahogany surfaces simply glow, reflecting warm light in soft parallel rays. Each front panel is framed in squared stringer inlays with notched corners, the legs decorated with hanging bellflower inlays and the apron finished with fine bands of ebony and golden stringer inlay. Tel: 01432 357753 Description: This is a fine quality late 20th Century. 18th to 19th Century George III design, six leg break-front and bow front server/ sideboard/ dresser having a good rich antiqued patinated colour. The sideboard stands on six square taper moulded legs, with moulded spade feet, rising over which are four reeded pilasters and to the centre break-front section are two frieze drawers with flame mahogany veneers and boxwood stringing with mahogany cross-banding and original brass handles with original droppers. The handles have pierced back-plates and laurel wreath droppers. The sideboard has a decorative figured mahogany frieze below the two drawers and flanking either side are the bow front cupboard doors with matched ... moreflame mahogany veneers with cross-bandings and inlays with matched handles. The sideboard is surmounted by a figured mahogany top cross-banded in mahogany and boxwood strung. Behind the left hand door there is a single half-depth shelf, which is removable. Behind the right hand door there is the same configuration. The drawers have mahogany linings with hidden dovetail joints or possibly mortise and tennon joints. The sideboard bears a number on the back edge of the cabinet of"9710" possibly retailed by"Brights of Nettlebed. A fabulous sideboard, having an antiqued patinated finish with some faux distress marks which were incorporated into the finish of the sideboard when it was made, giving a antiqued patinated appearance, having a wonderful brown red colour, rather than the red brown of most servers of this period. Six chairs and sideboard, recently imported from the UK through Edinburgh, Scotland. I've included a detailed description of it's condition and multiple photo's above in an attempt to accurately represent the design, quality, condition, construction and overall beauty of this marvelous diminutive set, designed for a smaller space but certainly comfortable for full size adults. The six chairs are all sturdy with a terrific rounded wood back and upholstered seats which can be easily recovered by the new owner if desired as shown. The chairs stand 31 inches tall and measure ... more20 inches front to back by 17 1/2 inches wide. The seats themselves are 17 1/2 inches tall and measure 17 inches wide tapering to 14 inches wide across the back of the seat. And 15 1/2 inches deep front to back. The cushions fit down into the solid wood frames as shown in one of my photo's where the cushion has been removed, which also exposes the E Gomme mark on the inside of the chairs frame on each as well. You're bidding on a pair of color chromolithographic prints- they were originally plates from a folio entitled"Masterpieces of Industrial Art& Sculpture at the International Exhibition. 1862" published in 1862 by Day& Sons, Lithographers To The Queen" The exhibition was an early World's Fair. The prints are a nice size- 11 1/2" X 16 5/8" on heavy stock paper, with vivid beautiful coloration. Both prints are of sideboards, one with extremely elaborate design featuring a classical figure at center, the other dominated by an enormous mirror. Truly Victorian decadence of design. The latter has some moisture stains at the bottom, and some slight pressed indentions in the side margins on both sides, all of which could potentially mostly be matted out in framing. Oak Dining Set, Heavily Carved, European French Country-china/sideboard/table
First off. We are not furniture dealers. This beautiful antique dining room set has graced our home for over 20 years. Time goes by and we are downsizing, so it's important to us that this set end up with someone who will appreciate its beauty and respect its workmanship as much as we do. We bought this set as a favor to a friend. We do not know how old it is or where it was manufactured. Dealers selling similar pieces on Ebay have used the description Vintage French Country. What we do know is that each piece is very well built. It's all tongue and groove. The only hardware in the whole set are the hinges. Handles and lock mechanisms on the sideboard and the china, and those are all solid brass. We also have two very decorative brass keys that fit all the locks. This set is solid oak with a medium finish. The parquet tops on the ... moresideboard and the dining room table are solid. Not veneer. The set is heavily carved. Each piece has gorgeous detail. The legs of each piece are curved with carved detail. Pictures do not do this set justice. It is large. Bold and just gorgeous. The flaws mentioned are mostly hardly noticeable. We mention the bumps and bruises so that somebody is not expecting a flawless set, however we highly encourage personal inspection of these items to see exactly for yourself. These items are in generally good condition with wear and tear consistent with its age. Recently while selling an antique coffee table we had, a gentleman that has been in the business, mention that this set was probably made between the 1930's and 1950. The dining room set consists of: Dining Table with 2 built-in pull-out extensions and 4 chairs. Extensions slide under the table top when not in use. Table top is solid parquet. Antique Depression Era wooden sideboard/buffet
Not sure of the exact age of the piece but I'm assuming it's Depression Era. This antique sideboard is a gorgeous piece of furniture/craftsmanship- it's truly one of a kind. Original hardware- I'm unsure of the wood but I think it's called"flame mahogany" The piece offers amazing storage with 2 deep drawers and 2 big cabinets and boasts beautiful wood carvings that are original to the piece. Measures 65.5' wide. 21' deep, 37.5' high The condition is very good considering it's age. There are two sets of pics here- ones from the original seller before the piece was polished and conditioned and some after I obtained it. Because of the age of the piece. There are two small very thin strips on the upper left hand corner where the veneer has stripped away. I've included pics of this, but it is honestly ... moreonly noticeable when standing right next to the piece. The pics here really magnify it- it's not as bad as it looks. The top also has a very pale water mark that is also not noticeable unless you are standing close or have a bright light shining on it. Other than that, it's really in remarkable condition.
