Vintage Japanese Miniature Satsuma vase Kinkozan 1925
This small Satsuma vase was made by Kinkozan. It dates to about 1925. The vase is 4 ¾ inches tall. The vase is made of earthenware and is decorated with Kannon and two Rakan. It has a four character mark on the bottom. The third character is hard to read but we are pretty certain it reads Kinkozan Zo. There are no chips. Cracks or repairs. But there is some light crazing, and one small area(slightly wider than hairline by about 1/4" long) where the red and gold detail has worn near the mouth of the vase on one side. Up for Your Consideration is a Large Vintage Satsuma Pottery China Teapot. This outstanding teapot measures approximately 10 ¾ inches tall from base to tip of finial. 12 inches long from back of handle to tip of spout, and 4 1/8th inches wide. The teapot is dark blue with the lid decorated with rust colored dragonflies. Burnt orange and beige berry clusters, and leaves in green white and brown. It has a crackled or crazed finish. With the sides of the teapot pictured with three geisha's in the foreground and three men in the background. The backside or handle end is decorated with a dragonfly. Berry clusters and leaves. The front is decorated berry clusters and leaves. The lid it too. Has the dragonfly, berry cluster and leaves with finial having a bright gold finish. It has a scalloped/rippled rim trimmed in gold. Both the spout ... moreand hand are trimmed in gold as well. Along the top and bottom of the teapot is a band of white and rose pink mums/peonies/lotus flowers with large green leaves. Areas of teapot and lid has raised gold trim. And heavily accented with Moriage bead work. The bottom of the teapot is marked in red“ Made in China” The teapot is chip. Crack and break free. The only exceptions that I find worth noting is a paint overrun on the interior of the rim. And a paint skip on the underside of the handle. The bottom of the teapot looks to have a chip that was in the green wear prior to its firing. The teapot came from an old estate and was covered with grease and grime. Apparently not clean for years. I have hand cleaned it and may have missed a few spots. As far as the age and manufacturer of the teapot. Is unknown. Should you have any questions on this gorgeous oriental teapot. Classic Japanese Vase W/ Cream Colored Satsuma Like Crackled Glaze Is Marked 10"
This tall Japanese vase has a cream colored. Crackle type glaze. This glaze produces fine irregular lines like those seen when a crazing develops. The vase has a colorful hand painted pattern of coral-orange, white and gold blossoms on a deep blue tree trunk. There are touches of green with scattered gold leaves and flowers. The vase is 10 inches tall and the mouth is about 2 1/4 inches wide with gold around the rim. The mid-section of the vase is about 3 1/2 inches wide. The base is 3 inches in diameter and has a Bijutsu Toki mark. This pottery was made during the second half of the 20th Century and often featured a crackled glaze on Satsumi type ceramics. There is a very small chip on the rim of the base which can be seen in Photo#9. This does not affect the way the vase sits. Which is evenly on a surface. There are no other chips or cracks. ... moreThe vase has an over all crazed effect which is due to the type of glaze that was originally used. I dont know what these would be used for. They are tiny little bowls. All of them about 2 inches wide and a bit over an inch tall. The outside of all of them is glazed with hand painted free form blue and white designs. The inside of each bowl has a diffrent design. Then came from my aunts colletion and were given to me 30 years ago. Each one has made in japan or japan on the bottom.

Vintage 1930s Japanese Satsuma Vase/Lamp Cranes/Butterflies/Foliage Gold/Cream
This very old vase turned into a lamp was gotten by my aunt and uncle while they lived in Shanghai. China in the 1930s. They made several trips to Japan before WWII erupted. I believe they obtained this vase at that time. During sometime in its life it was repaired(see Photo#7) Unfortunately when the vase was turned into a lamp, the makers stamp happened to be in the exact center of the base of the vase. So when it was drilled, the stamp is no longer able to be read. I can include all the parts for the lamp, which are still attached, but I feel certain it would need to have updated wiring to make it safe. The lamp parts are made of brass, steel, pewter, and the base is either mahogany or rosewood. There is not a lamp shade included, as the one that was on it was silk and it has disintegrated. If you do not want the metal lamp parts and the ... morecord, they can be removed before shipping. The vase is 13 inches tall and 5-1/8 inches diameter at the widest part of the vase. This vase was hand thrown as the potter's finger marks as the upward pull was made when throwing the pot are visible. There are hand painted gold lustre embellishments on the foliage in the trees, the butterflies, and on the lip, base and side ornaments. There is lovely crazing in the glaze. The foliage, birds, tree trunk and butterflies have exquisite detail and were masterfully painted. I will be moving this summer and need to pare down the possessions. Up for auction is a c. 1950s Fujita Kutani Vase. Satsuma Style; White with intricate detailed embossed mums and a platinum ring around the rim. The vase stands 7 3/4" tall, is 4 1/2" at widest part, has a 3" mouth& the bottom measures 2 3/4. Bottom of vase has traditional red"Trade Mark Made in Japan Fujita Kutani" mark. Please note: The vase has a small flaw. As documented by the last picture above. I do not know if this is a flaw from manufacture, or a chip. The glazing around the defect feels smooth, which would indicate a flaw, rather than a chip, but I am not a pottery expert. Iron Red, Pink and Green) and Striking images of a Peacock and another bird amid grasses and flowers and blossoming trees. It is a True Work of Art. With its Large Size. The piece Displays Wonderfully and will Instantly become the Focal Point of Any Room. It measures a large 18 1/2 inches tall with the lid on and is about 11 inches at its widest point. The piece is in very good condition. Especially for its age. There are no cracks or chips or damage in either the body or lid. The images and colors are Vibrant and Bright. There are two parallel fine lines in the body of the piece(see last photo) They are not cracks or hairlines as it doesn't go through to the inside. They appear to have been part of the firing process and m at ch up with the thrown ribs. The piece is signed on the bottom in red and gold Japanese characters. The mark has a gold cross inside a circle. Which I believe is the Shimazu family crest and a Satsuma Yaki mark. I believe the piece dates to the early part of the 1900s and perha ps the later part of the Meiji period from 1868-1913. T he piece is clearly old and without doubt Stunning. The piece was a recent estate sale find and it came with very sturdy base. The base is a newer piece. It appears to be made of a very heavy composite with a molded pattern made to resemble carved wood and felt and a heavy brass rim. It is beautiful and accents and fits the jar or vase perfectly as if it was made for it. When on the base. The jar stands 20 1/2 inches tall.
