It is 55 inch X 72 inch made with 11 inch squares on front and back. The squares are made from mostly Cinch.Wranglers,Creul,Levi's and a variety of other heavy denim brands. The back is all from a new print cotton. It does not have anything between the back and front layers as it is a heavy quilt. Some of these look to be treadle machine stitched. Most have a few duplicates, some have only one or two of each. Measurement of each block is approximately 7 x 7 inches. Total weight is 8 ounces. All are in good vintage condition. All will need to be laundered, there are age spots and overall staining from storage, nothing that won't come out with the first soak but I believe this should be done after the quilt is complete. A little Zoar history: The Village of Zoar was founded in 1817 as a communal society by a group of German religious dissenters. After a few hard years. The group became solvent by helping build seven miles of the Ohio and Erie Canal, which passed through their lands. The canal enabled them to get their produce to market and allowed them to be financially successful. The Zoarites manufactured ... moremuch of what they needed themselves. The village of Zoar, named for the Biblical city that Lot fled to from Sodom and Gomorrah, included grist mills, a wool factory, iron furnaces, a tannery, a foundry, garden, and store. More info at: This quilt would have been made in the very early 1900's and has been well-cared for all these past years. There's not a blemish to be found ~ no rips. Tears or holes, no fraying& no stains. The pattern name is called Shoo-Fly but it can also be known as Corn& Beans, Double Monkey Wrench, and Duck& Ducklings. It's made with 100% cotton fabrics. The backing or body of the quilt is made from a very pretty dark& light cinnamon print with little white flowers& the patterned blocks are made with many other prints that date back to the 1880's. You'll see a pink& black print, indigo& cadet blues, turkey red& black prints, black& white, browns& more. There are calicoes& florals, some abstracts, checks& plaid prints. Dear old quilts of mine And my thoughts love to dwell on that happy olden time When deft fingers fashioned flowers. Leaves, and baskets, too- Each year that you are with me I grow more fond of you. Carlie Sexton Very nice applique quilt made with 100% cotton in 3 shades of pink. White, light moss green. The pattern name is Colonial Rose, but there are a few added features to the pattern ~ the flower was made with 4 different layers with the center shaped in a star; and the leaves are oak leaves. It measures 84" x 78" Please excuse my pictures; the backing is white, not with the light pinkish color that appears in a few of my pictures. The darkest pink fabric is very pretty, it has a brush stroked or very subtle ... moreveined appearance. It's not faded like it appears. A good example of this is picture#9. Nine large appliqued blocks are featured, each appliqued with one of the prettiest, neatest embroidered blanket stitches I've seen. The green oak leaves& center star shape were embroidered using a pale yellow thread while the pink applique was embroidered using 2 different pink threads. The quilting is as neat as her embroidery; she really had a fine hand. It was quilted with very tiny. Straight 1/2" diagonal lines with 9 spi. The quilt is in very good condition but does have just a couple slight blemishes; There is a bit of fraying in spots across the top short end of the quilt, I found 1 pin point-sized stain& 1 place where the pink has faded. This is a beautiful red and white Windmill quilt. 83" x 90" in size. The front is made up of blocks in 3 red and white prints and white. Each small block has 8 pieces. It has a wide band around the border and a narrow set-on binding in the same print. The backside is white. The back has some light tan stain. The front has a few small spots that are not real noticeable. No holes or tears. Nicely hand quilted. Cotton. Very pretty!

My mom collected and made quilts all her life. Now we are piecing out the collection. She found this quilt in Paducah KY. The note pinned to this says 1920's- 1930's colored with crayon then pressed with vinegar and brown paper to set. The size is approximately 61 x 38 1/2. Were patiently made with loving care; If each thought put forth were as perfect and true, It would make a grand world for me and you. Ida H. Frederick Very. Very nice quilt made around the Civil War Era. I wasn't able to locate this exact quilt pattern in any of my reference book but with many quilts made back then, women made up their own. This star pattern most resembles the"Love in a Mist" pattern. It's made from 100% cotton in true turkey red& light off-white(nearly white) The quilt measures 87" x 71" is in very good condition. There are no rips, tears or holes, the binding has not frayed. The quilt has never been laundered yet it still looks great. You'll find 2 light surface ... morestains which I've pictured for you(picture#9) It has a thin batting with cotton seeds present. The red is as true in color today as it was when it was made over 150 years ago. The quilt has an overall unique design ~ 3 borders& 3 matching sashings, framing each star. These are all quilted with an interwoven circle design. The patterned blocks are quilted with diagonal& straight lines through& across, all with nice even 7 spi. Please note that in my main picture it looks like the vertical sashing in the center is crooked. It's not; it's straight. That happened from me stepping on the quilt while taking pictures. What appears to be cotton cover, embroidered with red work redwork hand embroidery. This is shown draped over my full sized bed and has room to hang on sides. A large quilt top with tons of squares. Each one a delight to look at. Not sure if these were made from penny squares or freehand, there are flowers and birds. Children etc and in the center a beautiful white square with"From Grandma" on it. Sweet token that some loving Grandma put hours and hours of handwork in but never quite finished. There are a several light(coffee color) spots here and there that I have not tried to spot clean. And on the edge a few snarl/snag holes, and ... moreone area that has a white on white mend, these in an area that could be cropped off I suppose. Or mended. The backing has a gauze type mesh look to it. It could be used as a light summer coverlet as is though it has unfinished edge seams at back. See pics. It is the weight of a sheet. Antique/Vintage 1930's Pastel 6 Point Star Quilt Hand Appliqued & Quilted
This auction is for a beautiful multi color pastel applique 6 point star quilt from ca 1930 or 1940 that is all hand appliqued& quilted. It has white a background with that wonderful 1930's fabric for the stars and then blue binding. It measures 70"X82" and has damage in one corner. See pictures. Other than that, I can't find any wear or soil on this quilt. The quilting is amazing with 7 tiny, even stitches per inch that cover the entire quilt. It must have been safely stored in a trunk most of it's life, but it has been washed. I hate to let it go but I am running out of room. Antique Handmade Quilt, Early 1900's, BLACK, TAN, IVORY, Arrow Pattern
This is a wonderful handmade antique quilt from the early 1900's. It is cotton material and the colors are wonderful. Black/Tans with an Ivory or Beige background. It displays well with many different decors. The size is approx. 68 x 80 inches. There is no wear marks, rips or tears. I have never washed this quilt and it does appear on close inspection to be VERY slightly soiled. There are also a few small brown spots which I pictured, very minor. The backside is a solid ivory colored cotton. Not sure of the pattern name, however, it looks very much like the end of arrows. Vintage Cutter Quilt~Shabby~Farmhouse~Pastels
We've got lots of quilt to list. This one is wonderful. This is a cutter quilt and does contain holes. Edge fraying and stains. The main stain I saw was a blue one on the end where there is more fraying. It has been washed. It is super soft. Great for a little girl's room or a shabby room. It folds and displays wonderfully. It is predominantly a faded pink color on white. I am unsure of the pattern but I do love it. The sides are a pinkish red stripe. This would be great for pillows or bears or more; however, I feel like it is best to be folded over a banister or displayed at the end of a bed. I just cannot bear to cut these quilts up. It measures 62 x 68 inches so it would work on a twin or possibly even a full with a dust ruffle but would work on either folded at the bottom or on a trunk top. Also would be great on a chair. Vintage Quilt; Home of the Brave design or Album Friendship Quilt Design 68 x 80
This quilt was machine stitched but appears to be very old. Perhaps on an old Singer machine? The fabric is dated. The back is brick patchwork in assorted colors. The top design is that of the"Home of the Brave" quilts made during the Civil War for the soldiers. There are some torn patches, the binding is worn away on the edges and there are stains. I took many photos; please look at all of them carefully. It is a beautiful quilt. It is a very large quilt, measures 68" X 80" The little story below explains the design: During the Civil War(1861-1865) The Sanitary Commission, which was founded in 1861 to assure that hospitals were sanitary and to give aid and comfort to the wounded, quickly developed into something much larger. The Sanitary Commission not only collected funds and supplies, but through the Ladies Auxiliary ... moreand their fairs they collected clothing and quilts. Women donated quilts that were quite simple in design. Sometimes instead of quilting women would use period comforter ties to hold them together. Some blankets were block quilts with messages of love and faith. Quilts were given as a part of the Union soldiers' comfort packages, which included rations. The Sanitary Commission gave out between 150,000 and 250,000 blankets and quilts that were made or donated to the Sanitary Commission by northern women. This figure does not include any personal blankets or quilts the soilders carried from home. A soldier would roll his blanket up perhaps with other belongings inside and carry it with him into battle. He would use it perhaps on warm nights for a pillow or to lay his weary body upon. He would use it on winter nights as comfort against the cold. If he were wounded it would become his hospital blanket, and because of the shortage of wood, if he perished from his wounds it would become his burial shroud.
