It is made from squares of polyester garbadine. It looks like the fabric my grandmother made dresses from in the 70s. The back feels like flannel. It seems to be in great shape. The pieces are 6-sided hexagons. Each about 4" in diameter. The cotton blends are machine-pieced. And the double-knits are hand-pieced. See the example of this in the last photo. 2 Vintage Tied Quilts- CRAZY QUILT And Unique Americana Folk Patchwork Sampler
This auction is for two vintage quilts. Many of the patterns of the fabric seem to be perhaps from the 60's or 70s. But some earlier. There is a consistent gray pattern fabric that looks like 1960's pajamas used in the larger quilt. There are no significant flaws to the front of these quilts, the smaller quilt is in good shape, and a crazy quilt. No fancy top stitching or quilting, just sewn and tied. Thin summer weight, but felt back and binding. the larger quilt has a very unique design. One half of it is essentially one type of large squares, and the other half of it is comprised of various smaller nine patch variation patterns, including sawtooth star and others. The back side of it has a checkerboard of creamy white and black stretchy fabrics, and a wide border of the white. It has a huge gap at the top and bottom of where the ... moreblack and white squares are in back. You can see to the other side- there is no batting. Edges are not bound but whip stitched all around! The entire length of these two areas in back needs to be sewn back together, but no other seam issues. The creamy white color fabric has the textured appearance of bark cloth, but is stretchy. Maker/Designer: Handmade quilt dated 1935 Size: 72" wide on flat side 74" wide at peaks on the uneven side and 63" wide in valley. Quilt is in a hexagonal flower garden pattern. Great vintage gingham and solid patterns in pastel tones. Quilt is in great shape except for places in the green binding trim where it shows wear in places. The quilt part is not affected. The previous owner is from Texas and had purchased this quilt many years ago and believed that it likely dated to the 1980s. Quilt Information: Type of Fabric: Cotton- Condition of Fabric: Good- Hand quilted at an average of 6 SPI- Name of Pattern: Star- Size: 84" x 92" Block size: 7 1/2 x 7 1/2 Two deep red attached borders. The backing and top are neatly stitched together to form a knife edge binding. The condition is good. The quilt was recently laundered by the previous owner. I've seen no tears. Stains or holes. On close examination I have seen a few small or light spots and a few loose threads.

EARLY Quilted Large Piece from quilt VINTAGE CUTTER as is cottonseeds
Attached are photos of an early quilted piece from the 1800's which measures 18" x 80" The red is shot but some green remains. And all else is solid. The heavy quilting is at 7-9 stitches per inch. This has the feel of an early textile which is complete with cottonseeds. Enjoy the early quilting designs which are typical of early PA textiles. There is slight browning and this has not been laundered. Enjoy as is or use as a cutter. Plan on priority postage of 1 lb. to your zip code. Since this is being sold in as found condition. Antique Red MultiColor Log Cabin Patchwork Quilt Hand Quilted
Wonderful old patchwork log cabin quilt. It is 67 x 80" Very nice condition& odor free from my nonsmoking home. There are a few fabric breaks on some edges& bottom& slight yellowing on some edges. It is hand quilted. The print on the white backing appears to be original to the fabric used.

Antique Hand Tied Quilt....53 in. x 72 in.
My aunt made this quilt when she was young and she just died at the age of 93. You can tell by the material how old it really is. I kept it on the back of my couch for a long time. it is hand-stitched. Even the binding was hand-stitched. The front is 3 1/2 in. squares. She said she used scrap fabric and some fabric from worn garments. Some of the squares are a soft wool. Some are and antique denim.and some are cotton. Mostly the squares are shades of dark colors. The back is cotton and is a blue. Red, and white plaid. Definitely antique/vintage. This is not big enough for a bed.but would be great hung on a wall or laid over furniture. I had it over my couch which was a cranberry color. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have. I have no pets and I do not smoke and my house is clean. The quilt has no odors. No rips or stains.
