I am re-listing this piece as the winning bidder wished to string it on a necklace for her to wear. Please be advised that when the piece was made the ... moresuspension holes were placed midways down the back(as can be seen in the pic) therefore it will NOT hang down vertically. This piece needs to be displayed for what it is, an outstanding piece of Pre-Columbian art. Not the biggest, but one of the most colorful Pre-Columbian Mixtec culture penates I have encountered. A really beautiful pale blue/green jade that I have seen some Olmec pieces also made of. This penate measures just under 1& 3/8" and is ex. Arte Primitivo and guaranteed 100% authentic. Please see my other auctions for other nice Pre-Columbian stone items.

ANTIQUE VINTAGE Pre COLUMBIAN MEXICO BRACELET STAMPED 900 CENTAVOS RARE 1942
This is a very nice unusual ethnic pre-Columbian design bracelet. It is marked 900 on the back of the clasp and also has a Columbian coin eagle stamp with a 0.900 mark. On the outside it has a Mayan or Pre- Columbian figures and a coin image which states“DIEZ CENTAVOS G.2500 LEY 0.900” on every other link as described in the photographs. On the inside every link is marked with a decorative coin pattern and on the other links it looks like the image of a 1942 Columbian coin impressed on it followed by a Columbia 2 ½ Cent Cevantos coin. The coin image says- DIEZ CENTAVOS G.2500 LEY 0.900 and is estimated based on research of the coin design and the B mint mark referring to the mint in Bogota to be dated as early as 1942. It is possible to wear this bracelet reversed. It is in excellent condition. Nicely weighted, and measures about 7 1/2" ... morelong x almost 1" wide. I believe the coin image would date to about 1942 but I don't know if that is when this bracelet was made. ~~~ Thank you for looking. ~~~ Also identified is“ Estado Unido De Columbia” Please review my other items currently up for auction. All items are described as accurately as possible please email me if you have any questions. Item comes from a pet free. Smoke free home. Payment is due within 3 days of purchase. PRE-COLUMBIAN ART; INVESTIGATIONS AND INSIGHTS by Hildegard Delgado Pang
PRE-COLUMBIAN ART; INVESTIGATIONS AND INSIGHTS by Hilda Delgado Pang. Published by University of Oklahoma Press, 1992. From the dust jacket: This profusely illustrated. Up-to-date introduction to the pre-columbian art of Mesoamerica and Andean South America examines our conceptions of the ancient high cultures, the art they produced, and how our modern day interpretations were achieved. The book is unique in that it draws on a great variety of scholarly disciplines to interpret the art forms. Since the 1960s our understanding of the Aztec. Maya, Inca, and Andean civilizations has increased dramatically through coordinated interdisciplinary research. In this summary of new and past investigations, Hilda Delgado Pang describes previously unknown historical figures and dynasties. In a clear and entertaining style, she tells how the pre-columbian ... moreartists validated their rulers, recorded rituals, portrayed the supernatural and astromical cosmos, and commemorated transitions from life to death. As she describes the Mesoamerican and Andean high cultures, she also explains the special role that art plays in all societies. This book measures approx. 11" x 8.75" x 1" And is in brand new condition. After 25 years in the antiques trade we have closed our business and are selling part of our library of reference books. We have books on many types of antiques. Decorative arts, fine art, and folk art, including some rare and out of print volumes, so please check our auctions often for new listings. Payment by Paypal.
Rare CLAY HEAD with Torso Figural pre Columbian Authentic ARTIFACT See***
Here is a small ceramic artifact. From an old private collection. This collection has been in the US from 1962. And we are proud to be offering this item for sale, at this time. Measures: Under 2 inches in height. And just over 1. 60 inches at its w idest part. We think it comes from an area of Mexico. Like Colima. Or Nayarit state, but with the turban, wrapped on his head. We may be looking at an early Clay arti fact from Southeast or South Asia. In fact. So the exact origin of this small piece is unknown. But something about the Ear plugs. And small bo w( BIT of jewellry) at the neck. Makes us gravitate towards Asia in its origin. We are quite sure it is pre Columbi an in age. In other words, at least 700 years old, or much earlier. May easily date to the BC period. But we have not had it scientifically tested. these wer e most freque ntly ... morediscove red in groupings. And people used to collect them. Most are in Public Museums, on di splay. Some ar e still floating about. In private collections. A rare find, and adorable. Should be mounted for a nicer display. Happy to take it back. I f you do not love it. SAD to let it go. But that's just how it is. Happy Springtime and finding, and Thank you, for looking. And your consideration. Sati s faction Guaranteed. 336.RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Fvo%7B%3Dd70f%2B%3E336-13f5c35d119-0xf2-

Rare Pre-Columbian Tairona Culture Tubular Bead-Super Green Stone
This is another of the very rare stone types that was available to the ancient Tairona. Is it jasper?agate?chrysoprase? The Tairona must have treasured brilliantly colored stones types such as this. Although the stone is very hard. Brilliantly polished and shiny, it was obviously buried and their is some surface degradation. The bead measures 29.5mm x 13mm. Xolotl, Pre-Columbian "The God Dog" Pottery from Colima, Mexico
Pre-Columbian Art Pottery- Xolotl- The God Dog" Pottery from Colima. Mexico This is a replica or reproduction of XOLOTL. The hairless dog bred as a table delicacy, as well as, one of the little animals that guided the dead on their underworld journey. 5 1/2" long x 3" wide x 4" tall(ear to paw) dark red/brown burnished mottled finish- carrying ear of corn in its mouth. A little history of the Ancient Colima Pottery Dogs of Colima Mexico. Although Mesoamerican cultures produced pottery in abundance Colima's redware ceramics are acknowledged for their singular quality and artistry. Their color varies from deep mahogany to pale orange and the burnished surface is often motttled with a patina of manganese oxide. Colima artists created a wide variety of objects but they are most celebrated for perros cebados. Squat. Rotund ... moredogs, with short legs and rounded bodies. The cobby shape may have signified fertility, properity or the fact that dogs were fattened for consumption. Many Colima dogs carry ears of corn in their mouths. Maize was a staple food of this region for thousands of years. Testing has revealed that it wasa mainstay of the ancient Mesoamerican canine diet- and dog meat provided an essential source of protein for human inhabitants. These enigmatic figures were produced in what is now Mexico from the 3rd Century B.C. Dogs were considered to be useful on one's inevitable journey to the underworld and were therefore placed with the deceased as trusty companions. Please feel free to ask questions before purchase. Large Notched, Full Groove, Hardstone Axe, Caddoan, Pre Columbian, AR Find, Rare
Beautiful Large. Notched, Full Groove, Hard Stone Axe, This is a very fine Caddo Indian piece, which I found in the Fountain Lake Community, in Garland Co. Arkansas. It is made of a very light grey stone with blue highlights, that has a soapy feel to it. It is 6& 1/8 inches long, 3& 5/16's inches wide and 1&7/10's inches thick, it is obviously very old, very smooth, from much use. It's too heavy for my scale, but I judge it to be approximately, a pound& 1/2 to 2 pounds in weight. This Artifact has 8 or 9 small flaws, from use by Native Americans, and one large flaw, an inch and a half long, which might have been made by a farm implement. I guarantee it is authentic and will issue a COA to that effect. A super rare piece for any collection.
