Very interesting estate pieces. From a very prominent family. These silver jugs are approximately 200 yrs old. According to a local silver collector these item's are roughly 200 yrs old. Definitely original artifacts. They appear to be spun. Very thick guage metal as it tapers to a thin or thinner guage. They are quite heavy. With a silver content of 82-86% Not very fancy very primitive, but its something that cought my attention. Amongst all the famous maker's kirk These two items just cought my atrention. They are very similar to the Tarahumara game pieces still used by the Tarahumara Ramamuri people of northern Mexico. They were found in a lot of an old collection of Pre Columbian artifacts from Mexico. The volcanic rock is reddish but we do not know where these were found or which future may have use them. However these are very interesting and absolutely authentic. One is a cube. The second one a ball and the third is a cube with a grove in the center as shown. Excellent Ancient statue of a standing figure or Idol with jewellery painted white. From the Pre-Columbian Moche Culture North of Peru, the culture spanned about 100-700 A.D. while this piece dates to the Moche IV culture, aproximately 450 A.D. Lovely detail and intact with some paint remaining, measures 12.8cm ht x 7.4cm width. Intact and unrestored, has a very light surface hairline on the back as seen in picture, stable and does not affect it in any way. Comes with a certificate of authenticity from the Antique Dealer it was purchased from in Netherlands. The face mask shows a parrot. In Copan Honduras was the parrot the sign of the ball game, the holy game of the Maya world. It is quite possible that this represented the protector and decision of life and death at the ball game and the whistle is part of the ritual. As in Copan several of these pipes have been found. May also mean that the holy leaders and driving instructions given to players with the pipes. The ceramic is nice and especial work up.
