WI. c. 1900. These are made of quarter sawn oak and remain in excellent condition. There are no splits or chips. All of the joints are tight and the chairs are sturdy and solid. They do not wobble. There is a partial label remaining on the bottom of one chair that allows the positive identification to be made. The chairs are 37"H X 17 1/4"W seat X 16"D. The seat is a standard 18" H from the floor. The honey oak colored finish appears to be original and has probably been overcoated with varnish at some point in its life. A beautiful Quartersawn Oak Fireplace Mantel with bevel edged Mirror. Circa 1880. We are pleased to present this fabulous antique Quartersawn Oak Fireplace Mantel for your consideration. In the Arts& Crafts/ Mission style. The Mantel features a large beveled edge mirror above the shelf, along with a variety of decorative touches including attractive striping of the wood grain on the two vertical columns. The Mantel has overall dimensions of 82 inches high. 60-1/2 inches wide, and 14 inches deep. We estimate the weight at 150 pounds- two people can move it with effort, although its large size makes it somewhat torquey to handle. The mirror measures 17-1/2 inches high by 29-3/8 inches wide. The shelf is 44 inches wide and 7-1/2 inches deep. At the front. The opening for the fireplace is 39 inches high by 41-1/2 inches wide. At the back ... moreedge, the opening is 50 inches wide. Picture 5 shows where the"front" and"back" measurements were taken. Measuring from the wall, to the back edge of the"front" point, the depth is 5-1/4 inches. Faults are few and minor with this antique fixture. The silvering on the mirror shows only minor deterioration. With a few tiny black spots, and some larger areas of crazing where it still reflects. There are a few small burn marks(see pictures 3 and 4) but they only affect the surface finish. There is one noticeable bump to the front edge of the shelf(seen in picture 10) but it is not very large. Other than these issues, the Mantel is in fine shape. We rate the overall condition as very good. This is a gorgeous Arts& Crafts/ Mission style Oak Mantel. It would make a wonderful decorative piece for your remodeling project! 1923 Arts & Crafts Mission Reversible Oak Step Stool Table Seat
This vintage. Oak step stool can be reversed and used as a table or seat. It has a brass plate"pat. Oct. 16, 1923.The four, original steel buttons remain is position to protect the finish of the seat/table when the piece is used as a step stool. Four plastic tack feet/slides have been added to the legs(in the last 20 years) We show in scans 10 and 11 what we believe is repair to one of the steps. In scan 9 we show a crack in one of the brackets. The piece weighs about 11 1/2 pounds. It's in sound sturdy condition but probably wouldn't be safe to use as a step stool by today's heavy weights(including myself) It'd be a fine table or seat for almost anyone. Below is a file drawer with a front that tilts open and the adjustable pusher tilts back for easy access. Six shallow drawers were made for large wooden type and advertizing logos. VINTAGE QUARTER SAWN MISSION OAK DESK Exquisite Craftsmanship STICKLEY w/ Chair
This is an amazing. Vintage Mission oak desk. It is SOLID oak and every piece is quarter sawn to reveal it's incredible grain. While many desks from this ear are relatively plain, the details on this are fantastic(note the curved vertical slats on either side over the two sides; the bevelled side planks with the dowel that hold the legs- made of 3 different cuts of wood- in place; the tongue-in-groove top with 6 different cuts of wood) I bought this more than 20 years ago at a flea market in Rowley, MA from a man who had this in his family for generations and he completely refurbished it, so it is now in amazing condition. There are only the lightest of marks/scratches and you really need to look hard for them. The drawer is NOT original and was added afterwards. But matches they style perfectly. There is no maker's mark, but this ... moreis clearly a master carpenter's work. Dimensions: 44" long x 28" wide x 30" tall The top consists of 6 boards. All quarter sawn The four legs all comprise of 3 boards. Each held together by a dowel and the drawer connected has a beautiful, angled joint(see picture 6) In addition. I purchased a piece of glass for the top that is included in this auction. I have also included a quarter-sawn Mission oak chair that I refurbished to match the desk. NOTE: I am not a carpenter nor a restorationist. The chair has been refinished and is…adequate… but nowhere near the quality of the desk. I just won't need the chair once the desk is gone! Clearly. I would prefer a local buyer pick this up themselves. It's heavy, it's got a large piece of glass… If you want it shipped, I'll work with you for Atlas or another shipper to get it to you. 1912 Edison B-60 Disc Phonograph in Mission Furniture Style Oak Cabinet
Make sure to check all of my auctions after you look at this one. I'm listing another eclectic assortment of antiques and collectible. And I suspect there will be something to interest just about everyone. Please note: because of its size and weight. This phonograph can be shipped only to physical address in the United States and Canada. It cannot be shipped overseas, nor can it be shipped to PO boxes. Here's a very early. Seldom seen and highly collectable Edison B-60 phonograph in its original Mission Oak cabinet. The B-60 was among Edison's first disc machines, and it was designed to compete with an array of already well-established Victor and Columbia disc phonographs of that era, despite Edison's unrelenting contention that a disc phonograph could never sound as good as a cylinder phonograph. The B-60 sold for $60 when ... moreit was introduced in 1912(four to five times what an entry level Victor or Columbia disc phonograph sold for at that time) And it played proprietary Edison Diamond Disc records, whose grooves were cut vertically rather than laterally. This made the Diamond Disc phonograph incompatible with Victor and Columbia records, but Mr. Edison used this as a selling point, arguing with moderate success that his vertically cut disc records- like his vertically cut cylinder records- were far superior sonically to their laterally cut brethren. Condition is excellent. As you can see in the photographs, and the phonograph is original throughout, right down to the faux wood grain exterior on the horn(hidden inside the front of the cabinet) and the distinctive Mission-style grill. The machine plays reliably, and the mechanical feed on the tonearm advances the arm steadily across the surface of the record. The reproducer is likewise original, and in good shape overall, though it plays quietly and could probably stand to be rebuilt or at least serviced. Cabinet is in excellent condition. This auction is for a beautiful bookcase in the Arts and Crafts style. This particular unit stands 45-1/4" tall by 15" wide by 10-7/8" deep at top and tapering to 13-1/8" deep at the bottom with five shelves. The 3 top are 7-1/4" tall and the 2 bottom are 8-1/2" tall. The bookcase weigh 27 lbs 4 oz. and was manufactured from beautiful quarterswan oak joined with wood pegs. There are a few nicks and chips from normal use on a piece that maybe over a century old. This is a beautiful Antique Oak Quartersawn silver chest. It is great condition. The oak grains are incredible. The top opens up for silver storage and there is one bottom drawer for additional pieces. The top has 4 small brass screws that probably held a brass plaque at one time. The interior lining is in good condition for its age with some minor tears and a little musty from age. The wood on the chest is great with a couple of minor marks and nicks here and there(see pictures for greater detail) This is a beautiful silver chest but could also be used for jewerly or any other treasures you might have. Mission Oak Baseball Rocking Chair RARE Circa 1910
Hello, Up for sale is a Circa 1910s Mission Oak Baseball rocking chair. What makes this one different from the others. Is the hand-painted baseball scene on the top of the backrest is what makes this great. The fabulous detail put into these chairs have to make them one of the finest baseball chairs to become available to the collecting public. This chair does show wear from being used for over 100 years. Some cracking in the top board and some chipping on the legs. There also seems to be some restoration work done on the one side and maybe on the arm rests(not sure if there was or not) Even though it's not perfect. It's still a wonderful item to put into your baseball room. If you have any questions, please ASK. I'm willing to listen to reasonable offers.
