This folding book rack as made just after WWII by a returning vet as a graduation present for his younger brother who was to attend Dartmouth College here in New Hampshire. You will see a hole in each end. This was supposedly done so that the young man could hang it over his desk from the radiator pipes in the ceiling so he’d have more room on his desk. This book rack is solidly made of 5/8” oak that has a gorgeous color and patina to it as you can see in my pictures. Please look at all my pictures to judge color and condition for yourself. Early painting on late 1800's Canadian advertising cardboard. In a very old mission oak frame. This primitive painting of an early Canadian black settler speaks, sings and dances history history. The painting measures 13" wide by just under 15" high outside the frame. On close inspection there is some stains that are hard to see from any distance as the image is on the dark side, there is also a flake on the left side of the subjects forhead about 3/8" round. I love this piece but have no room for it. Its very clean. Has been refinished, but the restoration was well done. The mirror is original with some shadowing. I polished part of one to ascertain the type of metal) 8 compartments. There is an aluminum drip tray, but I don't believe it to be original. Finish looks to be original and shows some signs of normal use, but not abuse. Measures 19 1/4 x 11 x 27 tall and weights 19 lbs. Corner posts are solid 2 x 2 word, not glued pieces. Old primitive mission style foot stool with original leather top and metal tacks. Stool has many signs of wear-top is worn and torn in several spots; wood has been dinged and finish is worn off in several spots; tacks have some minor surface rust(see pictures) The initials C.W are written out in tacks underneath the bottom of seat. Stands 17 in. tall, measures 15 in. wide on the flat sides. Shows barely visible light water ring stains on top near edgs.

Item retains it's original copper pipe chimes and original cord. Tassel and wooden portion to produce sound. Wind chime measures 32" over all and would make that unbelievable finishing touch to the poach of a craftsman home. Vintage Arts& Crafts Mission Oak and Green Slag Glass Lanterns Great Mission Design This auction is for a great antique set of four mission oak and green slag glass hanging lanterns or lamps in the arts and crafts style. These are a bit unusual as to attach the light socket you have to remove a couple of screws and slide out one side of the top. They lanterns take any standard socket with a rib or ridge on its end which fits into the lantern groove and then the top is screwed into place to hold the socket in place. Please see the photos below. I have shown one of them lit with a modern socket. You could then attach a chain to make them hang. These are very well made and are in very good condition. Some will need cleaning. The green slag glass has vibrant color and nice marblizing in the glass. Rare antique postcard showing an early Stickley Brothers Arts& Crafts interior rendering in color. It is full of Stickley Brothers furniture. This interior view was originally drawn by native Scotsman David Robertson Smith. One of their early and extremely gifted designers. He first worked for Albert Stickley in London circa 1901, then was convinced to come to America. He won major awards for Stickley Brothers at the 1904 Louisiana Purchase Exhibition in St. Louis. It is a postcard that was likely provided by Stickley Brothers or the Grand Rapids Furniture Record to retailers. It has a calendar on the backside that is for November 1911 and the postcard is postmarked 1911. This same image is shown on page 110 in the book: The Stickley Brothers" a reference book by noted Arts& Crafts era historians.Michael E. Antique BOURN- HADLEY Mission Oak Flat-top Library Desk with center drawer and Bookcase Sides- 38 X 24 X 29- ORIGINAL PAPER LABEL Up for Auction is this Mission Oak Desk which was called a library desk and made by Bourn-Hadley in Templeton. Ma. Bourn-Hadley was in operation making furniture from 1879 to 1929. Good condition for an item over 100 years old. Some nicks, dings and scratches. Could use a good cleaning which I will leave up to the buyer to do. This desk is from the arts and crafts period and measures 29 inches tall. 24 inches deep and 38 inches long with a rectangular top, above slatted tiers, on square legs.
