I have had this in my home for over 20 years and have always ... moreloved the great form and tall counter height(43" including the 1-3/4" removable wooden casters on the feet) which is seldom found. I don't know the manufacturer and can find no label on it but judging from the quality of the cabinet and the hardware it could be Stickley. Limbert, or another comparable maker from the very early 1900's. All solid quarter sawn tiger oak throughout. No breaks or repairs. Nice original finish with only normal light surface wear. There is one pull missing on the bottom drawer. Measurements are 58" long. 57-1/4" tall to the top of the mirror, 43" height to the counter top, and 22-1/2" deep. These measurements include the 1-3/4" height of the removable wooden foot casters. If you like the Arts& Crafts era furniture here's one with exceptional style and condition that is ready to set into your home. You are welcome to pick this up at my home in Massillon. This austere work from the workshop of Gustav Stickley is an impressive object. The solid oak and oak veneers glow under years of waxing, the finish is soft and velvety with warm mellowed hues and a deep patina from the oxidized charm of use. The back leg retains the decal of the Stickley shop used during the years of 1905-12. It is in every way a very fine investment grade selection. Measurements: 55 13/16" wide x 22 5/8" deep x 29 5/8" high; 18" high to top of cushion Condition Report: Oak veneer cracking and loss throughout. Particularly to the edges of the feet and along the posts. Surface is early, probably not original, well preserved with wax. Scratches, gouges and abrasions throughout, as expected with an antique, these well represented in the photos. Core of feet have typical dry-rot, not causing any issues or weakness. This mission-style buffet was originally purchased from an antique dealer in Valley City. ND about 10-15 years ago. That dealer estimated it was built in about 1917. The dimensions are approximately 50" wide by 23" deep by 38" tall(to the surface of the buffet; 54" to the top of the mirror) All pulls are original. The bottom drawer has been rebuilt, and part of the bottom frame has been reinforced at some point. This is a solid, heavy piece of furniture. Antique mission oak barrister 2 stack bookcase refinished outside painted inside
This 2 section barrister bookcase has been refinished on the outside maybe 20 years ago and painted on the inside and on the back in a blue/grey sort of color. Probably done at the same time as the finish. The spots that might have revealed the maker name have paint on them so I am selling it as maker unknown. In addition to the 2 sections, it comes with the original top or crown, and a base with drawer. It also features metal side straps between each section and the scissor mechanism for the doors. No problems with the 2 glass doors. In fact, I see no problems at all. With the square straight legs it is very mission looking and being from about 100 years ago, I think we can safely call it authentic mission furniture in every way except the finish, although a lot of mission furniture WAS this color when it was new. The joints are all tight ... moreand all sections lock together easily and correctly. While only a 2 stack, it is a big 2 stack with each section able to take books as much as 13 1/2 inches tall. The over all measurement are 34 inches wide as most of these are, and with base and crown a total of 45 inches tall. It is a full 14 inches deep from knobs to back. I am listing this as local pick up only. BUT there are shipping/delivery options for you to chose from. RI delivery is $50 MA or CT. $100 If you are beyond those states. I would still deliver to most of the rest of New England, all of NJ, parts of PA that are East of Harrisburg and parts of NY that are East of Binghamton for $200. Vintage WEIS Mission Tiger Oak File Drawer Cabinet Wood Wooden Office Index Box
This is an early Weis single drawer file cabinet. The box is made of tiger oak and as the photos show. The joinery in the wood construction is of a mission style and displays well. The cabinet measures 15" deep x 8" wide x 6 1/4" tall and the single drawer is capable of holding card files 6" wide and 4 1/2" tall. The hardware for securing the files is present and works well. There is a brass pull on the drawer that has a 2 1/4" x 1" slot for holding a label. The only thing the file cabinet is missing is a footpad or thick headed tack on the bottom rear left corner. The original Weis label is still on the top of the box, although it is faded. The cabinet does have some scratches on it, but nothing that is too distracting. Wonderful Mission Arts& Crafts Style Cabinet! Cabinet is quarter sawn white oak with a warm patina finish. Shelf and back are straight grain white oak. This custom cabinet has through tenons and pegging. Pegging on all the four corners of the doors and on the cabinet. This cabinet is handcrafted by S.E. Guthrie signed and numbered. Make no mistake although this is a small cabinet it is still made of the same quality that S.E. Guthrie puts into all his cabinets. This small cabinet can be used for many things. Hammered copper pulls on doors and drawers. These pulls are patterned from the original designs of Gustav and Leopold Stickley. This is the same cast copper hardware that has been re-issued by the Stickley Company. These pulls duplicate the hand-hammered texture of the originals and are finished to a warm, glowing patina. Screws are ... morenew old stock all flat blade and no zinc coating. Top of cabinet works well to hold a TV depending on the size of your TV. Plenty of room inside for a DVD player. VCR or stereo unit. If you plan on using the cabinet for equipment that needs to be plugged in and would like a hole cut in the back for plugging in equipment let us know and we will cut it in for no charge. One fixed shelf inside. Can be ordered without the shelf if you'd like to put your TV inside the cabinet. And/or can be ordered with wood doors to hide the TV inside. Wood doors would be $25. more. This is a heavy. Solid oak fireplace taken from an old local, historic home. The fireplace surround is constructed of fumed oak in the mission style. It was purchased in the late 1800's from a furniture store in Ft. Worth, Texas and still has a partial paper label on the back. The mantle is in all original condition, never having been refinished. Original Stickley Brothers Mission Quartersawn Oak Settle Arts & Crafts
For sale is this lovely Stickley Brothers mission oak settle. We have enjoyed this settle for several years now but must pass it on to a new owner as we no longer have a good place for it. This is an original piece of Stickley Brothers furniture. Please see the photo of the Stickley paper label that is present on the underside of the settle. This piece is probably from the later part of the arts and crafts period, I think around 1915 or so. It is made entirely of quarter sawn white oak with amazing tiger grain. The settle has the original finish which is in nice condition overall. There are some nicks and marks around the sides and legs that are commiserate with age but none are distracting. The cushions are covered in a dark red vinyl material which is not original. I am not sure if the cushions themselves are original or not. This is a ... morewell built piece of furniture that is still solid after nearly 100 years. EDIT: Forgot to mention that it measures approximately 71" long. 30" wide and 40" high at the back. Also.on the back panel there are four tiny holes near the top where perhaps someone tacked it to hang from their closet door. If it wasn't for these minor issues. The round top has a diameter of 9 1/2" It's in great shape! There is one old split on one of the lower cross bars which I have captured in the last two photos. To be honest. This Macey tiger quartered oak doublewide(barrister) 5-stack bookcase with wooden panes(panels) is a fantastic piece. In great working order; all door mechanics functioning. Ca 1900-1920. Stamped Macey(Fred Macey Mfg Co) Very good to excellent overall condition nicely aged patina inside and out early dark finish and door glass looks to be all original. The close up photos provide extent of wear. But the four photos from 3 to 6 feet of the entire piece and both sides give an idea of the overall appeal. Two small bottom door knobs not original. Top has scratches/scuffs. The bottom legs have dings and normal wear to the finish.
