Item Description: A rare vintage Milo Baughman Bronze finish 3 section wall unit in as found original condition. This exceptional unit features 3 sections including glass shelves. And angled glass reading/display tray, and 3 lower cabinets for lots of concealed storage. This unit was well kept with minimal wear to the metal frame(some small nicks to the finish here and there but not very notable) As pictured the 2 cabinets have cloudiness to the finish and need to be refinished(cloudiness was partially removed on one door) The tops of the cabinets have some minor dings and scratches ... morewhich should be touched up during restoration(see pictures) A couple of the door clasps that keep the doors closed need to be oiled as they sometimes get stuck. This unit breaks down for shipping or storage. The metal upright posts attach to the wall with 2 screws that clip the upright posts to the wall. The unit is very strong and sturdy when mounted and is easy to assemble. When assembled this unit measures 95" tall and is 102.5" wide by 19" deep. Each section is approximately 32" wide. And impressive statement of mid century modernism. It comes as you see in pictures in very good condition. I took pictures outside because my home is small. Up for bid is a very beautiful sideboard credenza designed by Milo Baughman for Thayer Coggin. This sideboard dates to the mid 1960s and is very collectible. It measures 34.75"H x 72"L x 18.25"D. The surface is beautifully done with bookmatched Olive Wood Burl veneer throughout and sits on a chrome base. All four doors and hinge hardware work very well and open up to reveal a lot of storage space inside. Both drawers measure approximately 20"x 12"x 2.5" and still retain the original TC flatware dividers and the original TC/MB label. The left side of the credenza has both of the original adjustable shelves(one glass and one wood) Please note the dishware shown in the photos is NOT included in this auction. This credenza is in very nice condition but does have a few issues to point out. There is a small veneer ... morechip to the top corner of the left door as shown(I do still have the two veneer chips which will make for a very easy and complete repair) The inside back of the cabinet still has the original factory pale yellow paint and it shows it's age.craqueleur throughout and some areas of paint loss as shown. There are a few very light scuffs as shown(one on left side. One top side back left, and a couple more on the right side) They are not very noticeable at all in ordinary light and appear a lot more pronounced when I photographed them. The wood veneer has not been treated in any way except a light dusting since I have owned it(ten years) and I imagine that these scuffs will become practically invisible with a little wood conditioner. The chrome base still retains most of its brightness and lustre, but it could use a little cleaning and polish. The front part of the left side base is bent slightly inwards about an inch as shown. This would be a very a easy inexpensive repair for a furniture refinisher to straighten this, but it is not very noticable at all to the naked eye nor does not cause any wobble. Original black vinyl upholstery looks like it was almost never used. See condition report below for the very minor imperfections. Six faceted walnut screw-on legs hold this 8 foot long minimalist, sexy sofa. Four removable and reversible seat cushions with burlap-type back vents and all original chrome rings(that attach to the chrome clips on the sofa frame) Original Milo Baughman Thayer Coggin label as well as James Inc label still attached to the underside. CONDITION: Amazingly good condition. One small edge tear to top back left edge of sofa(could easily be touched up) One seat cushion has a couple small scratches/punctures to one side(the cushions are reversible so this cushion can be placed ... moreblemish-side down. Slight area of"puckering" at side back edge(due to 50+ years of fabric expanding contracting. Seat back button strings have lost some of their tautness but all buttons are present. You are looking at an original set of his and her chairs designed by Milo Baughman. The orange and gold/beige naugahyde with walnut trim and legs are just Stunning! They are in excellent vintage condition for their age. The orange flowers on the chair are raised or pop out above the gold/beige color. It's a very nice textured look. One tiny spot on each chair were the vinyl has worn a little(see Pics) You have to really look to notice it. It does not take away from these chairs by any means. The legs have some wear/nicks consistent with age(easy fix) The back cushions are attached to the chair and are not removable. The bottom cushions are in excellent condition on both sides. They measure approx. 35" His and 30" Her both are 29 3/4" wide. They are quite a unique set of chairs. They are even better looking in person. Pictures ... morejust do not do them justice.
