Construction: high quality leapard print fabric over a foam ... morecovered wood frame mounted on a hand crafted. Walnut wood base with a nice velcro strap-on head cushion. This piece measures 69 inches long by 34 inches across by 18 inches high at the front by 34 inches high at the rear, and it weighs around 75 lb's. It's very, very comfortable to lay on. A few small, light scratches and scuffs to the underside of the base, and there are 2 very small areas of small stains to the fabric on top of the hump(see last 2 images. that may come out with something like Oxi-Clean. The foam in the lounge and cushion is still firm and bouncy, so no issues there. That light mark to the underside of the base is a light paint rub. I purchased this piece a few years ago at a local fleamarket, and I was told it came from an actor's home in Camden, South Carolina, but I can not substantiate this with paperwork, sorry. I don't notice any foul odor from this lounge, but I'll admit my nose doesn't work quite as good as it used to. Shipment will be done via Forward Air, and pick-up at a Forward Air terminal will be necessary. Some examples of shipping prices from Columbia, South Carolina, include $365.20 to New York, $458.23 to Chicago, $504.17 to Dallas and $504.17 to Los Angeles. 1950s/60s original Knoll daybed by Richard Schultz
For sale is one(of a pair) original. Authentic Knoll convertible sofa/daybed. I thought it was a Florence Knoll design based on the stainless steel legs and floating backpiece but contacted Knoll directly with photos and was told it was most likely a Richard Schultz design that ran from the late 1950s into the early 60s. As far as I am aware everything is original, including Knoll fabric, although the bottom seat cushion is surprisingly soft for 50+ years old so the foam could have been replaced. There is a Knoll sticker on the bottom. The greatest thing about this is that the bottom slides out on a spring system(see pic) to fully horizontal and becomes almost the dimension of a twin bed-again with fairly soft bottom cushion-so it is truly perfect for an overnight guest in your living room. There is some fraying on both top corners of the ... morebackpiece. And there is some discoloration on the bottom seat cushion(which is not double-sided due to a zipper on the underside) which I would expect after 50+ years. I have not tried cleaning it. Please keep in mind that you are buying a fairly old item and there may be other small flaws I don't even know about, but I'm an honest eBayer and selling a piece of furniture that I personally love. I am only selling it because this is the third apartment in a row where I just don't have the room. And the damn things are heavy to move. I need a vacation more than I need a matching pair of too-big museum pieces. I think this is an exceptionally rare and special piece of iconic mid-century modern furniture. In several years searching the internet. I have only ever seen one or two pieces close to it and they were reupholstered and sold for $8000. This auction is for this awesome example of Mid Century Modern furniture design. I recently remodeled my house and scaled back its contents. Thus the sale. This chair and ottoman design has strong presence and resemblance to the iconic Milo Baughman pieces. Since i can not find the Man. tag, i can only hope a buyer will recognize it for what it is. It has incredibly strong and heavy metal/chrome support structure, and i suggest you have a friend to assist with/when moving it. The fabric is sound with no odors, or thread failure throughout each piece. It has some fabric stains and fade from life and use, but nothing to take away from the beautiful design. Okay so these are 100% authentic original Warren Platner dining chair\side chair. These are close to 48 years old and look almost brand-new. These were purchased in 1967 and given to my father for graduating Pratt design school he has a set of eight in which he gave my wife and I 4 when we purchased our home. They were reupholstered in the cookie monster blue fabric color you see four years ago. It is nearly impossible to find originals of this style in this condition from a single owner. We would love to keep them however they deserve to go to somebody who really appreciates the art and style of the time. At auction six of these in not nearly as good condition have gone for upwards of $22.600 in 2007. I have not found more then sets of two of the original lately anywhere. And they are in poor condition. Remember you can buy the replica ones ... morethat are still produced from design within reach for I believe 3700 per chair however as I said they are not the original and have no comparison when you see them side-by-side and feel them. I guess something about the way they manufactured them and the materials they were allowed to use in the late 60s gave the chair a totally different look and feel. Collectors appeal for these is only getting greater and greater and originals in circulation are scarce at best and ones that are around have been poorly kept unfortunately. Please feel free to email asking for more pictures or if local you may even view in person offers are excepted however please if you are looking at them I assume you know their true value don't play games with me it's just a waste of both of our times and I am very very nice person who does not appreciate lowballing. This is a vintage Warren Platner for Knoll side table base only(no glass) made of curved steel rods welded to circular frame. This was an estate sale find. And is an original, not a reproduction. It does have a little pitting/spots here and there on the steel and some rust at the base, just on the inside edge where it sits. This is nickel plated steel, so I guess one could have it replated. It really looks fine in person to me though just as it is. The photos show every spot that really arent even noticeable in person. It is very sturdy and straight. All the welds are intact and no bends in the steel rods that shouldn't be there. This is really heavy! It has the floor protector. Please look over pictures and feel free to ask questions. One of the first cantilevered chair designs to be produced. Ludwig Mies van der Rohe's Brno Tubular Chair(1930) is the most elegant of its kind. Mies van der Rohe began his career in architecture in Berlin. Working as an architect first in the studio of Bruno Paul and then, like Le Corbusier and Walter Gropius, Peter Behrens. In the mid-1920s. He began to design furniture, pieces that he conceived and created for particular interiors. In 1927. He met Lilly Reich. A Bauhaus alumnus who collaborated with Mies on his first versions of a cantilevered chair with a tubular steel frame. The cantilevered chair had a curved frame that exploited the aesthetic. As well as the structural possibilities of this material. We have 10 left of these chairs available in good used condition. Any wear is consistent with age and use. Premium sofa by Steelcase(another available) Circa 1970's- off-white color wool 80" x 32" depth. 28.5" high. Custom ordered for a company in Kentucky direct from Steelcase in premium original wool presented is this perfect modernist sofa design. Steelcase around this time employed the designers Jens Risom. Vintage Knoll looking(no makers marks) steel 1- piece Tulip Table Base. This base is unmarked but it may be a Knoll table base. I got this original vintage 1960’s tulip base dining table about 35 years ago and put it in the shed- never had a place to display it so now it is for sale. Base is metal. And has an white finish. Base is in need of paint stripping. Sanding and re-painting. Base measures approximately 29” tall; wide end is 23” Other end is 17” or visa-versa- I guess either end can be the bottom. Overall a very good project for someone to renew this vintage piece. Also have 2 tops for the base if wanted- add $15.00 for the wood look Formica and $30.00 for the cultured green marble. Pair 2 Vtg Knoll Pollock Black Leather Executive Swivel Chair Mid Century Modern
This is for a pair of TWO matching Knoll Pollock black leather chairs. These have been taken apart to fit into a shipping box. But will go back together easily with a few screws and bolts(included) Very Good Vintage Condition. The leather is showing some age but there are no cracks or tears. See photos. No wheels. One of the black feet is missing on one chair. There is a similar sized black plastic piece being used in its place. Structurally sturdy and look great!
