Here is a beautiful Chinese Famille Verte vase measuring 9& 3/4 inches high. I’m not sure if this vase is a period Kangxi vase or from the 1800s. In any case it is absolutely antique dating over 100 years old. It is entirely hand painted with a very delicate touch and good hand with overglaze enamels depicting birds and butterflies with several reserves. It has a Kangxi mark on the base in hand painted enameled black. This offering is a Kangxi Period(1662-1722) Blue& White plate or shallow bowl. Its central under glaze blue characterization or shou is that of longevity with decorative swirls. Circles and designs extending from there all the way to its rim. This antiquity's underside is unmarked but bears twin double circle bands around its low foot ring and a thicker single blue band on its rim's underside. The vase is 16.25" Tall and about 8" in diameter. The vase is in good condition but has a modern repair on the top rim(see photos) It is hand painted with bold colors. There is a scene of four scholars sitting below the tree of knowledge with a concubine riding a winged phoenix and a Servant bringing food as the center motif. Base is ringed with cartouche. The vase needs a good cleaning.Please examine the photos carefully. I take great effort to take quality photos of all angles and a picture is worth a thousand words. A very fine and probably quite rare Kangxi Cong Form porcelain vase. Beautifully decorated in blue and white with images of the 8 immortals. With 2 immortals on each side of the vase. The vase is painted in an early fifteenth century Imperial Ming dynasty flavour and bears the reign mark of Xuande(1426-1425) under the base but is early eighteenth century, highly probably Kangxi reign c1700. This auction is for a large Chinese blue and white porcelain vases probably dating to the late Kangxi period. The vases is hand painted around the exterior with a finely painted design of prunus blossoms on a cracked ice ground. Detail in the work is excellent and the color of the blue is quite attractive.
