Lovely quality bronze Tsuba adorned with gilt& silver coloured decoration. The piece is decorated with a scene with some small flowers and is signed to one side. This Tsuba is part of a private collection of these that i have recently bought- all are offered on eBay at a low starting bid and no reserve. Please view my other listings in my eBay shop. This particular one is of excellent quality as seen in the photographs. The tsuba is usually a round or occasionally squarish guard at the end of the grip of bladed Japanese weapons. This is a Japanese Yari in Honzukuri mountings. The blade is signed"Suemitsu 助光” Sankaku shape, late Kamakura period ca. 1300 era made Yamato school blade. The blade is in old full polish. Shows tiny stain on blade but no scratches, no flaw. The temper line is Sugu temper pattern and deep ko-maru temper at the point. The forging grain is tight Koitame-hada with Masa and no forging flaws at all. The scabbard is urushi lacquered wood scabbard. Shows minor silver loss but no dent, no crack and in exellent condition. The handle that fits and matches this spear is adhered and in very good condition. However. Because the handle of a spear is very long, Ｉ will be cut and Ｉ send it. Up for auction is an original WWII Japanese Army Katana Samuri Sword with Scabbard. No serial number(s) anywhere. We know that there might be numbers inside the handle and that it comes apart. But I am not experienced enough to take the handle apart, I'm afraid I'll damage the sword. What I know about this sword for certain is that it was brought back to the U.S. after WWII. The person that brought this back is no longer living. His sister found the sword in 1981 in his garage when they were cleaning his house after he had passed away. They have kept it all these years in their home. They didn't know the sword existed until they found it after his death. We do think it's the real deal based on what little information we have. Scabbard retains roughly 80% of the original paint. Handle retains roughly 65% of the original paint. ... moreCatch that hold the blade in place on the handle DOES NOT work properly. The blade is in very good condition. The leather finger loop is broken at one end but still there. The book says these were used by various groups including the military police. All in all one of the best I have come across. A complete decent example of a WWII sword. Genuine Japanese swords are getting hard to find, so many were destroyed during the conflict. This is a Japanese WWll Naval officer`s sword in Kaigunto mountings. The blade is signed"Noshu Seki ju Daido 濃州関住大道" No stamp on the tang, WWll time period ca.1940 era made blade. Daido lived in Seki city. Gifu prefectuer, made swords during WWll time period. The blade is in old polish, shows very tiny scratches on surface but no rust, no staine and in good condition. The temper line is wavy gunome temper pattern throughout the blade and has o-maru temper at the point. The forging grain is tight itame-hada and no forging flaws at all. There is no bend. No nick, no crack and cutting edge is very sharp. The scabbard is ray-skin covered wood scabbard, no dent, no bend, no lacquer loss and in good condition. The handle is tight fit, tsuka-ito wrapping is no cut. No loose and under the tsuka-ito is wrapped with black ray-skin also in ... moregood condition. The lock mechanism works fine. The tsuba and seppa are all original and no number stamped. It came with brown original Naval sword tassel. No fade, no shink, no cut and in good condition. The blade measures 24+7/8" tip to the guard, 24" cutting edge, 1+1/4" width, 7mm thickness at the notch and 37+1/2" in mountings.
