antique highly carved federal winged griffin north wind plant stand black forest
for auction is a very rare most likely one of a kind antique probably federal fern or plant stand. it also resembles black forrest. hopefully the pictures are good enough to ascertain how well. Detailed, and how much carving this piece has. it features three winged griffins or dragons attached to a central shaft that supports the actual platform for a fern or plant. the feet of the griffins supports the shaft. the shaft does not touch the floor. at any rate it is carved to death. the front of the breast of the dragons has what appears to be the face of the north wind blowing. you can see the eyes and the cheeks puffed up for blowing. under the platform, which is more of a bowl, for the fern is a carved collar with several leaves displayed. the top of the plant stand has incised carving in it. the platform is attached to the shaft with a dowel. ... morethe griffin body and legs etc are attached to the shaft with two large dowels for each griffin. i am not for sure what kind of wood it it, but it appears to be walnut on the parts light enough in color to try to tell. it stands 40 inches tall, the platform is 10 inches in diameter. the feet at the widest stretch are 18 inches. the griffin bodies at the widest point if a bit over 14 inches. as far as i can tell all the pieces are still in tact, some have been broken off and re stuck. i am amazed that it is still apparently all there. there was a piece broken from the bottom of the shaft when i got it. i really do not know what it looked like so i put a finial there which i think looks ok. if you don't like it, it can be removed with little effort. i paid a tidy sum for it some time ago and would like to get my money back. it may be picked up at my home or shipped at buyer's expense. good luck.

She began collecting in the 1930's and passed away four years ago at 103. The collections encompass all periods. Styles and materials. Although buttons are completely foreign to me, I've kindly received guidance on them and have tried to educate myself regarding them. Forelegs and wings of a majestic eagle and the strong body of a lion. They symbolize strength, vigilance, power, arrogance and pride. Brass 3 pc set fireplace tools stand Dragon Griffin Victorian Medallions Vintage
Here for sale is this gorgeous. Victorian style, brass fireplace tools set with sculpted Winged Dragons or Griffons on top of each piece. Stand is about 33.5” tall. Has three paw feet legs with three medallions between. There is a medallion on the top of the stand also. Beautiful ornate scroll work all over the stand! The shovel is 24.5” long The tongs are about 25” long Very heavy(14lb) Solid brass set-great conversation piece. It is in great shape. Has some patina, I did not clean it. Interesting Medal- MANSYUNIPPO Not really sure what this is. I have not been able to find out anything about this medal. I am not sure if it is Japanese. Chinese or even Soviet. The front says MANSYUNIPPO with a picture of a Griffin. The back has a weird logo/symbol and the date 1934. It appears to be bronze. It is approx. 1 1/2" long at longest point and 1 1/4" wide at widest point. This may be some type of civilian medal? Not sure. You can ask questions though I am not sure if I can answer them since this was purchased at an estate sale so I do not know the history. Item sold in AS FOUND CONDITION- I have not tried to clean it. I am including the case with the auction but needed to take it off to get good pictures and do a thorough check on the condition of the iPad. The iPad works great, like new and is in over all very good condition cosmetically as well. The"Griffin Case" is in good shape showing normal wear from usage, the front plastic piece that covered the iPad screen shows some normal scratching-the case is just a bonus! iPad: Works great but does show some minor normal scratches from use. The back of the iPad looks very good but has a few extremely light scratches also does not effect use of the iPad which works great!
