I have dated it to c1948. It is possible it was made for a light fitment to go inside as the hole at the base is certainly large enough to allow this and I think would look fabulous. I bought this from an estate where the gentleman had a wooden base made for it. The base in itself is great as well as it has been delicately carved into the pedestal to fit the globe. The pedestal base is floor standing and measures 24 inches tall. It is made by Rand McNally in Chicago. USA and is 16" in diameter. 1" on the globe = 500 miles.The hole in the bottom has a diameter of 5.5 inches. There are a couple of nibbles as you can see in the covering of the globe but the glass is whole with no chips cracks or repairs. Please note that we insure all of items. 1.We accept PayPal. The top and bottom halves of the globe do spin like a normal globe would. The interior of the globe is fitted as a bar. It comes with a small ice bucket that has tongs inside. The rest of the area is fitted and shaped to house bottles and glasses. The interior space is about 18.5″ in diameter. Overall his antique globe bar is in very good condition. It has three spots where the paint has been worn/chipped and all three of these spots are shown in the photos. Otherwise the piece is in great condition. Sturdy and ready for everyday use. I cannot find the date of this globe so this Vintage Replogle Globe with Raised mountain ranges the globs cardboard is still in fine shape you can still read the tiniest cities. I do not see any scratches dents or scrapes. I do notice down on the globs base where the steel bracket is attached with a screw and bolt to its plastic base was broken at one time then glued. Seams to be strong. You can see this crack in my pictures, when I spin the globe it sounds like little balls rolling around inside there is nothing visibly missing I do not know if this normal or not. Like I said. Have no idea who the maker is or where it originates from. The makers mark is two straight lines with what looks like blobs on the top. And a straight line across the two. Maybe someone out there could identify the mark or there origin. They have lost quiet a few petals and a couple of leaves. This is not uncommon with majolica that is aged. Great restoration project. This was a thrift store buy so other than my thinking of"what a great decorator piece" I know nothing about the history of this. Age, or such. Just know it would look great framed and hung up for people to admire! This probably is a reproduction of a famous early world map of French origin and it has been artfully applied to a piece of masonite board and covered with a clear coating. There is even and old painting on back of a guitar scene. Various areas have color highlights. Great butternut color with one stable crack at about the 3 o'clock position. This is a marvelous. Illuminated glass world globe marked"Replogle 12 Inch Library Globe" of Chicago. I believe it was made sometime between 1935-1939 dating it by the names of countries on the Globe. Persia became Iran in 1935, the globe shows"Iran" with"Persia" in parenthesis so it was made some time after 1935. British Somililand became part of Italian East Africa in 1940, the globe shows"British Somililand" so it was made sometime before 1940. Gores show wear consistent with age. There are a number of small spots of missing map. See pics. The black metal base is in good condition as is the metal meridian ring(showing some wear to the brass paint) Included is a day/night scale at the North Pole. The designs may be 1890s version of Renaissance Lace Patterns– they are rather symbolic and appear to have a Roman Goddess Theme. I have not cleaned them since purchase. They are just so lovely that I did not want to take the chance of damaging the lace. I will leave the cleaning up to the next owner. Size: each block is approx 6 by 6 ¼ inches. Condition: Please look at all of the scans. Will need to be cleaned. The designs are still fabulous. But some do show damage on the edges– while others just show soiling– as stated above, there will need to be cleaned by the new owner. Vintage Nescaf é Coffee Set with Etched World Globe Includes 10 Cups(2 7/8" tall) Creamer, Covered Sugar Bowl, Small Metal Spoon(not original to the set) On one of the cups. The etching is almost gone, I don't know why. see last Photo) All the other pieces are in excellent condition. There are no chips or cracks that I can see and I have examined them carefully. The pieces are of very heavy, thick glass and have generous handles that are comfortable to hold. All of the pieces but one have the word Nestl é on the bottom. This vintage Santa Claus plastic snow globe has been part of my collection that I am now down-sizing. I have enjoyed this for many years! He is 5-1/2" tall and was made in Hong Kong. This is stamped on the bottom He is in very good used condition. There isn't any liquid i nside the globe. It was this way when I purchased him several years ago.
