RARE Vintage Coleman Air-O-Lantern Model 319 Mica Globe
Auction is for an extremely rare. Old and Vinatge Coleman Air-O-Lantern Model 319 Dual Mantle Lantern. There aren't oo many of these ol' things out there and there are very few that make it it eBay. These were the second style of Lantern that the Coleman Company produced.after only the ARC Model 316 Lantern. The 319's were made from 1914-1919. This one shows obvious signs of use and love.with dents and dings to the soft aluminum top as well as one pin prick ding and a few cracks(to the finish) of the nickel plated brass fount. Collar is nice and complete. Mica globe is normal condition for it's age with rust on frame, splits, holes, dirt etc. The frame under globe is very nice. The handle on thses things are neat as well featuring a black wood with interwoven wire. Lantern also has some rust residue inside the fount. This is a older(guessing 1950's) electric alarm clock in a heavy filigree designed metal case marked'Globe Made in USA' on the faceplate. The case measures about 6 1/2" wide x about 3" deep. There is a scuff or smudge on the faceplate near the 7&8 o'clock position. The clock is LOADED with great details that can't be fully captured by camera. The case back has a couple of old cracks- good used cosmetic condition overall. We plugged the clock in and and it appears to be running fine. The alarm setting stem/knob is very stiff and needs to be pulled all the way for it to work properly. Displays very well. Please look closely at the pictures. Hi. Up for your consideration is a Vintage Globe Wer. Co. library catalog file cabinet/box. I believe it is made out of Tiger Oak. All the joints are dovetailed. This was an estate find. I have done nothing to it-no polish or Old English. It is a beautiful piece of History and would make a wonderful addition to someone's personal library! All the drawers are made to fix 3"x5" index cards and they all are still in fine working condition. On the top of the cabinet, at the far back edge it says'GLOBE WER.CO#9428-I-IAA-19-15-30-and I believe) $16.20" Two of us looked at it and we both think it is a dollar sign in front of the 16.20. The plastic covering the cord shows signs of age, it is cracked in several places, and about 3 inches split where the cord attaches to the top of lamp. The actual cord is in fine condition. I also showed 2 places on the chains where some paint got on the chains. It might be able to be removed, I didn't want to try anything, I was afraid I would damage something.
