Butler Floor Model World Globe Made by the George F Cram Co. Indianapolis Indiana. It is in very good shape for its age as pictured. It was taken from an old office building that was to be torn down several years ago. I have enjoyed it very much but sorry I don't know the exact age. The globe its self is 16 in across and held by an solid wood stand that is about 22 in across. It is on casters and stands about 33 in tall and can be moved easily. This one does not light and never has. This would make a nice retirement gift or just a nice conversation piece to add to your vintage collection. Here is an old vintage tin from the Globe Soap Company of Cincinnati. Ohio. It is blue and ivory with gold trim. There are naked dancing women- one is holding a basket and another is blowing a long horn. This tin measures 9 1/2" by 8 1/4" by 5 1/2" It is in very good condition with only minor signs of wear. I believe it is called the Strato Rocket. The bank features the Unisphere with rings and a moveable rocket with a small airplane on the top that shoots the coins into the globe(if you aim correctly! This lot includes two MACV-SOG patches and two USMC screw-back collar insignia. These came out of the estate of a United States Marine Corps veteran who served in Da Nang during the Vietnam war. The patches measures approximately 2 ½ x 3 ½” and the collar insignia measure approximately 1” x 1” The patches look too new to be ca. 1960s. So the USMC veteran probably got these later for re-union purposes; the collar insignia look to be period and not reproductions. The Military Assistance Command, Vietnam– Studies and Observations Group(MACV-SOG) was a highly classified, multi-service United States special operations unit which conducted covert unconventional warfare operations prior to and during the Vietnam War. Established on 24 January 1964, the unit conducted strategic reconnaissance missions in Republic of Vietnam(South Vietnam) ... morethe Democratic Republic of Vietnam(North Vietnam) Laos, and Cambodia; carried out the capture of enemy prisoners, rescued downed pilots, and conducted rescue operations to retrieve prisoners of war throughout Southeast Asia; and conducted clandestine agent team activities and psychological operations. This beautiful lamp measures 18 inches high to the top of the finial. And about 7 inches across. I can find no signature/makers mark on it. The surfaces have a lovely warm tone to them, that almost seem to glow. Condition: Most of the paint has come off the finial; it should be re-wired; there is scattered verdigris toning to the gold gilt. With overall patination, and one finds a few small scratches to the patina on the copper gilt, stylized, snail-like, feet. The metal parts show typical age toning. with light scattered surface oxidization. There are no chips or cracks. The interior clay appears to be a kind of heavy yellow ware. There is no shade.
