The one on the left in the first picture appears to be more faded. It does not have airplane flight distances. The one on the right has more vibrant colors and has airplane distances indicated. The booklet belongs to the one on the left, the slightly more faded one. They are not identical. They are very similar. Both were made in the USA by George at cram company in Indianapolis Indiana. Both are being sold as a pair, in as is condition. Please review photographs and ask questions. Thank you. The basis will be removed and packed in the same box. So some assembly will be required. It's one screw to reinsert. Having a pair is always better as you can have both hemispheres visible at the same time. Great for teaching. The one on the left has Union of Soviet Socialist republics. The one on the right the one with the more vibrant colors has that area listed as Russia. Both globes indicate north and South Korea. The faded globe has Burma listed. Not Myanmar. This rare globe is a fantastic representation of the Art Deco/Machine Age movement with its clean. stream lined” mounting. Electric illuminated glass globes were produced for only a short period, from the late 1920’s to the late 1950’s, when economically more affordable and less labor intensive plastic replaced the glass globes with hand mounted paper gores. However, within that short period some of the most spectacular globe models had been produced, including this one. Hand mounted paper gores over glass sphere. The lighting is located inside the globe, attached to the base. A light switch is located on the base. The map offers fine details with black oceans and attractive bold colored political border outline. The unique ... morebase is made of cast iron with a very aerodynamic look and has a silver gold finish. The entire globe is 13" tall, 11" wide. The orb is near fine condition with only a few tiny nicks. Power cord needs replacement. Lower felt cover on base which would normally conceal the inner wiring is missing- only visible from below. Up for auction is this cool old fire extinguisher called a"suppression globe" or as I call it"the glass ball on the wall" This great piece of the historical fire memorabilia was made by the company"Red Comet Manufacturing" which started in a garage in Littleton. Colorado in 1919. This auction comes with 1 Glass globe& 1 original Red Comet brand bakelite wall bracket/holder. They are both in very decent- good, usable condition. They have minor flaws of course which consists of most of the red paint gone on the outside of the glass, but, being from this early of age, both the globe and the bracket is overall in great, fully usable condition with excellent patina. Below is a fun and interesting write up about Red Comet Suppression Globes. I have four of these globes that I will be listing throughout a month ... morelong period. Grab em while they are HOT! Or. Not so hot yet I guess(pun) The Red Comet is the earliest documented use of fire suppression inside homes and businesses. The small business started out in a garage on the outskirts of Littleton Colorado called the Red Comet Manufacturing Company. When it first opened in 1919. It took a few years to get the designs. The company came out with their first product…rightfully named, the red comet. This device could work two ways. First, people could store them in their house in padded containers and if there was a fire in their house or a neighboring house, they could take these devices and throw them into the base of the fire. The main idea for this product was for it to be hung or mounted in hallways of homes or warehouses. The red comet has a spring loaded mechanism that when the clip holding the spring back burns off at 160 degrees, it sends a metal rod upwards into the glass where it shatters and spreads the special fluid on the fire. The contents of the globe is a special fire protection agent called carbon tetrachloride. 2 Antique Maritime Heavy Brass Ship Lights Cobalt Blue Glass Globe Sliding Doors
Up for auction is a pair of 2 antique Maritime passageway heavy brass/bronze ship lights with cobalt blue glass globes with sliding doors and a handle for hanging. There are doors that slide on the lamp to open and close the cobalt blue glass globe. The base is all heavy brass/bronze and has a threaded top with moveable handle. On the top of the lamp it has a threaded fitting marked. 9-S-5010-L Type XXII Size B. The threaded top of the light has 9-S-2108-L. There is a gasket with washer and light socket inside, so changing the bulb is very easy. The cobalt blue globe is very heavy, please check pictures and measures 4 ½” diameter x 5” long with rounded bottom. On the rim of the cobalt blue globe it has Type H 2034 L P.G. Co. There are no chips or cracks on the globe. Underneath on the top ring it has 2099-L-3 and on the bottom section ... moreis 2099-L-4. The heavy base contains the sliding door to open and close. This strange globe came attached loosely to an Dietz#6 New York Central bellbottom Lantern. I had no clue what it was; It sat in a box with other orphan lantern parts. I really thought it might be a cut down mayonnaise jar. I was reading an online article about marine brass or galvanized lanterns and noticed a duplicate to this. I now realize that this is a globe for a marine dark or deck lantern. It's probably made of Pyrex glass by Corning for lanterns that are subject to exposure to cold seawater when lighted. I suspect that there are serious collectors that can tell much more as to age and original applications. There don't seem to be any serious nicks or flaws and the overall condition is described as very good. The maker of this nice mid century world globe is Replogle. As you can see on the photo. This is the Starlight model. The globe measures 12" in diameter and is in very nice condition with some minor crackling. I did some dusting but no heavy cleaning since I wasn't sure how it would hold up. I bought this at an estate sale quite a few years ago and have had it displayed since then. The base of the globe is 8" in diameter.

It is battery operated, it looks like its in good shape but I'm not sure if its in working order. I placed new battery's in it and I couldn't get it to work. probably a easy fix for a professional since the battery container is so clean.I would place this as 1970's. Mego toys are incredibly collectible, and they did a lot of the space and monster type pieces. This even comes in the original box! The box has some slight wear& tear. But is in pretty good shape generally. A bit of wear on the edges and some slight discoloration. The spaceship that orbits has a small crack on the underside, but doesn't affect the ship. I am auctioning off a large glass lantern globe made by PYREX FOR COLEMAN IN GREEN LETTERS. The letters Pyrex are on one side and Coleman on the other side and they are readable but not great. This hard to find globe came off a 1936 Coleman model number 220B. Mailing to the lower U.S. will cost the winning bidder $8.50 and it will be mailed by USPS PRIORITY MAIL. Nice large Nystrom world globe in good condition. Raised relief surface. Not sure of the year of this globe 1978? Nystrom. Division of Herff Jones, Inc.89A39-478. No tears to the globe itself but it does have one small area where the plastic protected shield has a rip(see pics) no fading of colors. The metal stand is in solid condition with surface scuffs. Vintage Antique Lightning Rod Glass Ball Globe Amber w/ Etched Stars Excel Cond
Here is a nice excellent condition antique lightning rod glass ball. It is amber with etched stars all over. The openings both have ground glass and there is some small bubbles in the glass. One end opening is perfect, the other has a couple very small nicks on the edge, these are very minor, there are no other chips, no cracks and it is nice and clear, as you can see. Description: vintage GlobeMaster 12 inch diameter spinning world globe. Measurement: 12 inch diameter. Stands about 16 inches tall from top to bottom. Contents: GlobeMaster 12 inch diameter spinning world globe. Condition: good condition. With a small tape mark(I believe, or something that was supposed to go there and was taken off) going clear around the globe on the center equator part, which leaves a very tiny gap(separating the top half from the bottom half) around the middle, but that doesn't hurt the appearance that much. I believe the tape mark can be cleaned off. The globe still spins nicely. I purchase most all the items I sell at auctions and garage sales. So therefore, my items are sold as is. Questions are recommended if you are unsure of anything.
