The drawers all open and close smoothly. The locks all work and the key is with the cabinet. A great batch for patchwork or small projects. I will not be measuring individual pieces but the sizes can be seen where the batch has been photographed with a normal sized magazine for comparison(World of Interiors) These are pre-used pieces and there will be some signs of wear here and there; these are very good. It measures about 86" by 30"2.18 meters by 76 cms and weighs about 350g. A good piece for snmall projects such as patchwork, cushions/pillows etc. The condition is good. Antique 19th-c CANDELABRA SET Gilt Bronze Girandole CRYSTAL French Victorian Vtg
Garden Variety This wonderful old candelabra set is incredibly detailed and so charming. With a sweet garden scene as its motif. The central candelabra contains the most detailed base, with birds, flowers and even a snail frolicking in a flowery garden. The smaller candleholders flank the larger with a small bouquet of flowers atop a column-shaped base. I believe these might be French; the bronze work is very fine and incredibly detailed compared to similar American pieces by Dietz Brothers. I don't find any mark on these, so exact attribution is difficult. There are some very slight variations between the large and small pieces but they match well as a set. All are mounted on rectangular marble bases and festooned with glittering crystal prisms. Just a few of the prisms are imperfect with scratches and small fleabites and some also have ... morevery slight variations in shape and hanging wire. I'm unsure about whether these are brass or bronze. The gold finish has worn off or tarnished a bit and the marble has slight discoloration and wear. Offered is this beautiful antique crystal glass double salt to grace your table. I brought this and several others back from France. I have looked high and low here in the States to find these. I don't even find them at antique shows. This one is in a rounded form. Extreamly elegant with a lovely starburst pattern on the bottom of each salt. The handle or fineal is in a baloon shape. It measures 5.5 inches long. 2.25 inches wide and stands 3 inches tall. It is in excellent condition with only two small flakes that are felt with the finger from age which is to be expected. One of the old vintage violin and cello bows I got from my research in France who happened to be from a French collectioneur who asked me to sell his bows on ebay. Please note that THIS CELLO BOW IS READY-TO-PLAY; I confirm that this 4/4 cello bow is silver mounted and made of a beautiful pernambuco round. Very straight stick, with a good stiff and equally balanced action. The bow is marked CH.ENEL-PARIS. But ultimately you are the only judge about authenticity. The base has a keyhole(no key) and the box stands on four feet each of which is the head and hoof of a ram. The box is hinged and opens to reveal the original lining of tufted silk. The box measures 10 1/2" wide by 4 1/2" tall and 3 3/4" deep. It is in very good to excellent condition; the legs are straight and solid. I fell in love with them on the first sight. They have slightly curved legs, High framed center panel rests, featuring an awesome Empire parcel gilt carved flower scroll center cartouche. It was gilt over red base, just phenomenal. Please take your time going over photos, look closely at the quality and detail of construction, closeups of the grain of wood and elegance of this pair. Also note in the last two photos, focus on criss cross pegging(pegs) that are holding this pair of beauties together. No screws or nails in it's construction. The condition of the chairs is what you would expect from normal wear of the chairs that are aproaching 200 ... moreyears of age. Upholstery is most likely from the first half of 20th century, thick yellowish greenish leather that has wear, could be restored if you wish or reupholstered. This auction is for a gorgeous antique French 19th century intricately woven trim fragment salvaged from a silk vestment collar. Its fibers consist of cotton/silk threads and it is in two different shades of blue on front and underside(see Photos 6-7) The trim has a wonderful texture and the shades of blue are hard to describe. They are truly unique. Please see at a close view with the Zoom lens. It is so unique and simply stunning. I believe that this is hand-woven. But am not absolutely certain. It has such a great appearance in color and texture. This measures approximately x 1/2" It should be noted that this is so much lovelier in person. The photos do not do this justice. Both small dishes(5 1/2 inches) were made in France by designer Christofle. They are marked silver and have the Christofle trademark. See photos. The dishes have a brass base underneath the silver plating. The dishes and silver plating are in very good condition with slight wear under the base.
