RARE 18th C French Sevres Tile Brooch Ornate Gold Plate Hand Cast Mold Frame
Antique Exquisite Hand-made SEVRES tiles. Most likely crafted in 1764. Art Deco Or nate Plated Frame Buckles. This set of mint green two inch PORCELAIN squares are marked" SEVRES MANUFACTURE NATIONALE FRANCE" There was once a brooch as well. With the same frame and we were told by the auctioneers that both the brooch and the buckles frames had been crafted especially for these tiles. A We've done quite a bit of research on these. The single letter"L" below the Sevres Hallmark would date the tiles at 1764. However. The Sevres"S" is depicted within a solid black logo, rather than the typical more ornate one used on the fancier porcelain vases. We imagine that these tiles were probably crafted and used on a basin. Vanity or ornate bath of sorts. Most likely in a palace or chateau. The rose gold flowers are hand-painted ... moreand unique on each tile. The glaze still retains a shine, after 200+ years. The buckle frames are works of art in themselves. The gold plate seems to be fairly thick. As it is only worn where the clasp meets. The underlying metal is most likely a silver alloy. The Sevres Tile were most likely crafted in the late 18th C. Prior to the French Revolution and the industrial age. They were molded by hand. We believe that the buckle frames(as well as the brooch) was added on a later date, probably late Victorian or early Edwardian. Perhaps a noble even"escaped" the guillotine with these and passed them to a relation. The buckle frames are marked"SG NO: 23 CHINA MADE IN" The front of the buckle frames are heavily carved in a bas relief Art Deco style floral design. They appear to be hand cast. And the mold may have been made for this particular client. The reverse side of each buckle is etched with leaves and flowers, reminiscent of the flowers on the tiles. Excellent Antique Condition. There is a small amount of patina on the corners of the buckle. And some wear of the hand-painted flowers on the tiles. The gold plate is a bit worn where on the clasp of t

ANTIQUE FRENCH 18K GOLD SAPPHIRE RUBY SNAKE BRACELET
Featuring an Antique solid 18K yellow gold Snake Bracelet. Stamped Depose and with French hallmarks. Also tested to be of 18K gold. This bracelet is of a coiled flexible design with the end of the tail being of a clasp that fits into the Snakes mouth(with safety) The bracelet has a couple of issues. I have taken it to a skilled jeweler who has determined that it has been slightly repaired near the clasp and behind the snakes head with lead solder(see pics) Both of these repairs are minor. But there is evidence of solder. Of slight tapered design with the middle of the snake(or back of the bracelet) measuring 3/8" wide. The snakes head measures 1/2" wide X 1 1/8" long. Also measuring a wearable length of approximately 8 1/2" The head is finely engraved in design and set with a cabochon of natural Sapphire gemstone. Medium ... moreblue in color. Also set with two small cabochons of Ruby for its eyes. This is a rare French piece of fine Jewelry. In overall very good wearable condition. Weighing a total of 23.6 grams. Very very nice! AUCTION IS FOR: GORGEOUS ANTIQUE FRENCH HAIR COMB! This Hair Comb dates from the mid-1800s. Maybe earlier. It is in AMAZING Condition! I purchased it from England. It's the prettiest hair comb I've ever collected! The Comb appears to be hand made by a jeweler. It doesn't appear to have been molded from a cast. The diamantes are still sparkly( I bought it this way. But they may have been restored some time in the past. The garnet stone in the center is ROSE Cut and protrudes from its setting like a nipple. I have a feeling the designer purposefully did so. It may be a real garnet or it may be paste or glass. The"faux" tortoise shell tines are strong. But delicate. A beautiful shade of dark mahogany. One of them is sharper than an other: whether it was made this way to be used as a Lady's weapon, I don't know. ... moreOwner may have wanted to get rid of a flea bite? I have no idea. The Bronze has a lovely Classical design which has been painted with what I presume is Enamel. There are no chips. Teensy Weensy Screws hold the tines intact. Note the way the comb is shaped. I am fairly certain that it was originally meant to hold a HAIR PIECE intact. This comb may pre-date Victorian times. As woman tended to use larger combs in the mid-1800s. It still works VERY WELL to hold a piece of hair. I am selling this because I enjoy wearing hair combs and have broken 2 in the past 3 months. While this comb is strong. It IS delicate, and I'm certain this comb's history is a long one. Combs such as this were only worn by very Fine Ladies and is more a Piece of JEWELRY than what we moderns consider a hair accessory. Unfortunately one of the square cut(french cut) sapphires does have a chip on the corner of it and they do look a bit worn but nonetheless still very charming and beautiful in my personal opinion. The tiny aprx. 2mm diamond glistens and sparkles. The bracelet weighs a BIT over 10 GRAMS! It measures in at 7" so I would recommend it for a 7" wrist or under) It is 1/4" wide going up to just over 1/2" wide in the middle part where the sapphires and diamond are. It has a tongue insert clasp closure which is in excellent, secure working order, and two tiny push pins on either side to open/release the bracelet to remove from the wrist. 1940s vintage. Heavy brass, and enamel French souvenir bracelet from France. Many American GIs brought these souvenir bracelets home with them from France after World War II. Measuring approximately 6 1/2 inches long it is composed of four panels. Blue, red, and gold, each about 7/8 inch wide. On each panel is the coat of arms for one of the 26 regions of France: Paris Alsace Provence Languedoc While the color of the brass in three of these panels is golden. For some reason, the panel for Alsace is copper or pink-ish. Also, the enamel at the top left blue border has a little smudge and is not perfect. Otherwise. The pictures don't do this piece justice. Its a French comb in the shape of a shamrock. ART DECO OR NOUEVAU FROM THE 1930S 0R EARLIER. Rhinestone are all there and sparkle way more in person and a jeweler I took this too said the are set in the same way old diamonds were and said it was a great piece. I am not a jeweler nor am I a pro but I have seen these go for a ton. The jeweler said it looks like silver I had acid tested its surface for gold and it tested positive for 14k but I have no idea if that is on the surface although it seems solid. I have a feeling it may be a mystery metal. I think I would have paid way more if it was in fact solid white gold. DESCRIPTION OF ITEM{s} I've placed a dime/ruler in some auctions to give accurate idea of size. Up for auction is this lot of vintage French Ivory{celluloid} and ox bone jewelry. It includes two bracelets and two rings. The bracelet in front has links measuring just over 1" wide and the round beads between each of these links measure 6mm diameter. The elastic is stretched on this bracelet and can easily be restrung. There is a carved 5/8" wide bangle that has an inside diameter measuring approx. 2 1/2" x 2 5/8" The rings are large with one having dyed bone stripes. This ring measures almost 3/4" high and is a size 5 3/4. The second ring measures 3/4" from north to south and is a size 8. This ring has a stress line on the side that does not through through the entire band. All of the pieces weigh a total of ... more60.7 grams and date to the late 1800's.
