I am selling this original WWI medal. Dog tag and French ribbon, with silver metal religious medal, named to Georges Lestrez. As Georges was born in 1900. I suspect he only saw the very end of the war. It comes complete with the glass case and olive leaf. The case measures approximately 8 3/4 inches long by 7 inches. The condition is good and it is structurally sound. However everything is quite grubby and could do with a good clean. It would be a super addition to any collection or excellent display piece. The delicate floral pattern is edged with a very fine thread of paler purple/lavender. When the lace is overlapped, it has this beautiful shimmering quality in which the floral motifs become more prominent.
