Very Unique oblong shaped Mexican batea wood dough bowl for sale! This batea has been in my personal collection for many years. It is a very unique oblong shape measuring approximately 16 1/2 inches long by 11 inches wide. It is just under 4 inches deep. This batea is in very good vintage condition. It does have a few paint chips on the red flowers(see photos) It also has a couple tiny nail holes and a small crack that doesn't go all the way through. WW II Navy Trench / Folk Art Hand Made Hammered Iron Copper Candle Holders
Antique trench. Folk, machinist art double candle holders in excellent condition. The candle holders were hand made of scrap metal on a ship by a Navy Seaman during World War Two. They are heavily hand hammered iron and copper with one socket looking to be brass and possibly a shell casing. The pieces are fixed together with hammered pins. The metal has a really attractive and varied patina. A simple and crude look give these holders there character. Item Photos, Item Photos, DETAILS ANTIQUE Wooden Primitive Ramp Walker FOLK ART Black Americana Doll Toy Stepin Tom circa. 1920's Listed here is a vintage ramp walker wooden Toy that I believe to be from the circa. 1920's This is an incredible piece of black Americana history. The entire thing is made of wood. Except the metal rod that hings the legs to the body. This item is a testament to the concepts of its folk art era- it's made simply and it's made solid. However, the way the face and clothing is painted on is expressive and detailed- more so than others I have seen in this vein. Altogether there are five parts made of wood; top half, each leg and each foot. The back is marked"Stepin Tom" and says it was made in Sturgis, Michigan by Studvy. On one side the face has some marks that look inconsistent with the ... morepaint. It kind of looks like maybe it got a little smudged when it was painted. There's a hole on the back of the doll that seems like it had a screw in it. The legs and feet also have some black and red lines on them. The left shoulder has a tiny spot of wear. Two Gorgeous Old Carved Wood Cherokee Figures Folk Art Native American Indian
These beautiful wooden carved Cherokee figures are made by American Indian artist Toby. And are part of a series of Cherokee figures he crafted. The woman is dressed in a velvet outfit adorned with absolutely beautiful bead work. She stands on a wooden circle 6 1/2" in diameter and is 15 1/2" tall. Her lovely beaded leather moccasins are high on her legs. She is dressed in felt underclothes. Around her waist is a decorated leather belt. Long braids made from horse hair are tied on the ends with sinew. Her body is wooden and carved in a womanly form. Her hands are also wooden, and her wooden arms move so she can be posed in different positions. In her hands are feather fans. She is stately, serious, and has a very real as well as eloquent look. Her mate is also dressed in the traditional clothing of the Cherokee with a leather fringed ... moreoutfit. His moccasins are also leather and around his neck is a beaded necklace. Horse hair comes from his wooden carved head. His body is wooden and his arms move. In one of his wooden hands is a feather fan and in the other a miniature replica of what I believe to be a turtle shell rattle. It looks like it was made with a little shell. The wooden circle he stands on is 6" in diameter, and he is 15 1/2" tall. On the wooden circles the figures stand on have the artist's name Toby carved into the wood along with the year the figure was made(99) re, and the#s of the figures in the series. The woman figure is# 31 in the series and the man#39. It is hard to describe how magnificent these figures are and the quality of the artistry. Just beautiful pieces of folk art!

Vintage Traditional Hungarian Filk Art Eosin Glazed finish pitcher. Kocsog, I am pleased to offer this wondeful vintage Hungarian folk art pitcher(kocsog) which was bought in Hungary in the 1970's. This functions but most likely it was meant to be a decorative item hung from pegs on the wall or placed on shelves along with other colorful folk pieces. It measures 7 3/8" high. 5" diameter and where the handle is 6" I never found out what region of Hungary this is from. Actually I have hardly seen ones with finish like this. A deep green iridescent eosin-like glaze. antique folk art pig weather vane rusted sheet metal
The sheet metal this pig is cut from is 1/16th wide so it is bendable. The pig stands 15 3/4" tall; the arrow is 19 1/2" long. The pig and arrow are not removable from the stand which measures as an oval 4 1/2" X 8" The pig rotates but would probably not do so in the wind or unless it was lubricated with oil or silcone. The stand is heavy and can tolerate rotation; it is heavy and the entire piece weighs 4 pounds. It is meant to stand on the oval as there are no screw holes or ways to mount the weather vane. The only history of this that I know is that it was part of an estate and unwanted by the heirs. It is a very pleasing. Has wonderful, rusty patina; and is a somewhat unique piece of folk art.

Fresh from an Estate comes this important folk art carving of"OLE BULL" by a PA carver. I have seen this style of paint and carving from a carver that is well known. But for the life of me I can not rember the name of book that I seen his work in. The bottom is dated 1860 but this was done later then that, 1920-30. His bow is missing but the paint is fine. It measures 5 1/2" tall and has a base that is 3 1/4" x 3 3/4" Ole Bull(1810-1880) a celebrated violinist and seminal figure in Norwegian music. After his early years in his home town of Bergen, Ole Bull's reputation secured him concerts throughout Europe. His technical facility led Schumann to regard him as at least Paganini's equal, and with his enormous personality, Ole Bull dazzled his audiences. Americans were particular smitten by his performance tours, ... morefirst in 1843 and again in the 1850s. A democrat and Romantic adventurer, he became involved in the creation of an utopian New Norway in Potter County, Pennsylvania, in a town to be named Oleana. Lot of 3 vintage Kokeshi style Japenese dolls. They have no markings and are not signed. All are in good vintage condition. One is on a wooden base and has a thatched hut/shawl around it. It has clothes made of tree bark and stands on a tree trunk for legs. The other two are 5 inches tall and have painted on clothes/ kimonos with childrens faces on the stomach area. Orange robed one is in nice condition with minimal wear. The black robed one has some paint imperfections on the head. And minimal wear as well. Primitive Hand Carved Folk Art Arrow in Wood w Leaf Feathers & Vine~ Odd Fellows
Here we have a really wonderful primitive hand carved Folk Art arrow. This arrow is all hand carved& hand made from one piece of wood. It has two thin feathers made form leaf or reed and they are artfully designed with folds to make precise angles at the ends. The end is wrapped or tied with a very thin piece of vine or natural tether. There are hand carved accents or narrowing on the shaft just above the head and at the end of the feathers. The shaft is rounded on the outside edge and flat on the reverse. This folky arrow has a super untouched patina and it is dry hard wood but still light weight. It is possible that this is a ceremonial arrow or piece of artwork for an odd fellows group such as the Indian Guides. There is a slight bend to the shaft as it is dry and hardened. This piece has a few stray marks and edge splinters. The whole ... morearrow is 22 1/4" long and the shaft is 3/8" wide& 3/16" thick. The head is 5/8" wide. 2 1/2" long and the feathers are 1 1/4" at widest point& 2 1/8" tall.
