Great old mantel clock with the desirable Adamantine finish in green& white swirl on black background- the Adamantine includes the top and columns areas. The clock has the original bronzed metal ornate paw feet. Gilt tin columns and lion's head side handles. Measures 16 3/4" long, 6 3/4" wide and 11 1/4" high. The wood case has classic Eastlake style carvings decorations. The label on the back is number 295A and has the directions. The movement is marked ST Made in America with the numbers 4 1/2. It is an 8 day time and strike and tests as working fine with wonderful chimes. This splendid antique bed features gorgeous spoon carved flowers. Flowing incised carvings and a fancy plumage and scroll crest on the head-board with the foot-board offering the same beautiful spoon carvings and incised carvings as the head-board. This bed measures 73 inches tall at the head-board. 33 inches tall at the foot-board, height of the sides rails at the center top to the floor measures 15 1/4 inches. The outside width of this bed measures 58 inches and the outside length measures 81 inches. 3 piece Victorian Eastlake bedroom set consisting of headboard. Footboard, side rails, marble top dresser with mirror, and marble top commode/vanity. The nightstand in the picture is not part of the set, but would be willing to work a deal if you were interested in it. I don't know much about antique furniture, this has been lovingly used in our family since it was acquired in the 1930's. It probably dates back to the 1890's, and everything is in its original state since we have owned it, I cannot tell before that. I think the wood is mahogany. The drawers are dovetailed. The headboard is an impressive 84" tall and 54" wide. And 79" long. The bed uses a 3/4 size mattress. Mattress and box springs included if desired) The footboard is 36" high. The dresser is 90" tall. The bottom part measures 30" ... morehigh x 38" at its widest point. The marble top is 41" x 19" The commode is 30" x 31" The marble top is 31 1/2" x 30" and the backsplash is 5" high. Up for auction is an antique victorian Eastlake deep well picture frame. It is walnut wood and it looks like burl wood on the top part of the frame but I am not sure. I'm not a dealer but I know it is Eastlake. There is a frame of gold on the interior surrounded by 2 layers of walnut wood frame. Both walnut sections have intricate carvings of eastlake flower designs.typical of eastlake. This frame is a deeper frame than some others that I have. This is 3" deep. Although the front part of the frame is pretty good. The sides that are Black painted are rougher. 3 of the 4 sides have chipping of black paint. Looks like it was scraped on something. It can certainly be repainted black on the sides but I just never did. I bought the frame this way at an estate sale. I have collected victorian for the past 22 yrs and am now changing decor. ... moreIt has the original back wood panel. No glass. Measures.outside frame 14 1/4" x 12 1/2" inside is 8 x 10. The base has 2 dovetail drawers and 2 doors with interior shelves for storage. There are brass pulls on the drawers and locks on all drawers and doors. We do have the key for this piece. This buffet server has fluted trim and paneled sides and it sits on 4 porcelain casters. I do not know the maker or exact date it was made. This piece is antique and will not be perfect. It is in two pieces- one for either door, and when together, it measures 2 3/16" by 1 1/2" wide. The spring for the knob works great- drawing the tungue back into the main piece when you pull on it. Wonderful Eastlake Style Silverplate Victorian Tea Set -- 2 Pots, Sugar, Creamer
Lovely tea service I picked up at the Portobello Market: Finely crafted Victorian silverplate with detailed stamped design in the Eastlake style. Design includes a space for a monogram. But it's never been inscribed. Ivory insets in the two pot handles. Maker unknown. The diamond stamp is a British registration mark from 1872. But I've been unable to dig up info on the clover/shamrock and fan( I looked for signs of the base metal when I polished it. And couldn't find a hint, so the plating seems to be pretty thick. Dimensions(approximate) Cream: 4-5/8" spout to handle. 3-7/8" tall. Sugar: 6-3/4" handle to handle. 4-1/4" tall. Tall coffee/chocolate pot: 8-1/2" spout to handle. 8-1/4" tall. Short tea pot: 9-1/4" spout to handle. 5-3/4" tall. Condition: Overall. The set is in great shape-it's ... morebeen used over its 140 years, but never abused. All pieces are fully functional. With tight seams, smooth hinges, and straight lids. Cream: Shallow pinkie nail sized dent along the bottom curve. It's in the lower-right of pic 3. But hard to spot. Sugar: Smattering of tarnish spots inside. Tall pot: A few tiny dings scattered about-you have to go hunting for them. Short pot: Some small. Shallow dents around the bottom, more noticeable by touch than sight. Light tea patina inside. Handle has dent at top from lid flipping up, and appears to have been patched with some kind of compound-see next to last pic. Holler if you have a question or need another pic of something-there are a bunch of reflections in the shots(silver is such a pain: the great purge of 2013 is underway! Condition: Used. Previously owned. Grate operates perfectly- vents open and close effeciently and without any gear hangups. The gold colored grate/register fits into cast iron insert perfectly. Overall both the grate/register and insert are in very good to excellent antique condition in my opinion.
