Vintage Quilt FEEDSACK Handmade POSTAGE STAMP ALBUM Quilt Primitive Cotton 1939
Back to clearing out my packed armoire of study quilts. Check back as I will be listing many more and some will go up for auction. Great Vintage Album Postage Stamp Quilt. The quilter included a novelty feedsack piece that reads"New York 1939" I think it is safe to speculate this was a clever way for the maker to date her quilt. Very interesting. This quilt is a very nice think and primitive farm style quilt made with a total of 4.350 feedsack pieces measuring 1- 1/4" inches each. The quilt is in great condition for it's age and nice and strong with a soft and supple feel. It is very clean and ready to use. For some reason the first photo looks washed out. It is not as faded as it looks. I think ebay must brighten them before they are posted. The fabrics used are all 100% Cotton Feedsacks. The overall size is 68" X ... more80" inches. Each block measures 13" inches square and is assembled of 145 postage sized squares measuring 1- 1/4" inches. There are a total of 30 blocks in the top. The 100% cotton batting is a thick and most likely hand packed. It is evenly distributed with only slight shifting. The backing is constructed of a loose weave off-white cotton muslin. It is in excellent condition with no stains. The quilt is hand pieced and hand quilted in an overall scallop or Baptist fan pattern. Stitch count is 4-8 stitches per inch(counted top side only) The quilt is nicely finished in an even and straight knife edge and a one inch support binding has been applied to the back only. Perhaps this treatment was meant to strengthen it for hanging? Binding is completely intact. CONDITION: This quilt is in great condition for its age. It appears to have been washed and is free of accumulated dust. There is some fading to the fabric pieces on the top. Some pieces are more faded than others and some don't look faded at all. There is no sign of stains or soiling. A few small seams need to be stitched back in place. There are no rips or tears to be worried about. I really like this one.

Dough BOWL Primitive Wood Feet HAND MADE Sturdy & Solid
Terrific Primitive wooden dough bowl with 3 round feet in very good condition. This dough bowl is very old. And is made from maple wood. It is in great condition for being so old. There is the expected signs of wear. But nothing major. It has 3 minor surface cracks that are not deep. The feet are secure. The bowl is not perfectly round. Since it is hand shaped. It measures 11" x 10" in diameter(roughly) and it is 5" deep. The rim is 1/2" thick. The bowl weighs. 1 pound, 8 ounces. This bowl is very sturdy. And solid. It is Beautiful! Antique Stoneware: 1Gal. Upstate NY Jug, Primitive Brushed Cobalt Design, 19thC.
A 19thC. Salt-Glazed Jug with Primitive Floral decoration in dark. Brushed Cobalt, ca.1860-1880. The Jug is unmarked, but probably a piece from Upstate New York, likely made at one of the Hudson River Valley manufactories(Troy, Athens, etc) There is a small, shallow chip on the base(lower left) and an area of discoloration(rear, right) otherwise excellent. The stone pop occurred during production, prior to the addition of the salt glaze(see close-up) A desirable size, this 1Gal. displays beautifully and will complement any Early American Stoneware collection. Used Brown Wood Duck Decoy Figurine Brass Beak Primitive Wood Shelf Wall Hanging
This auction is for a used brown wood duck with a brass beak attached to a wood shelf wall hanging with a hanger on the back. This is a very nice piece made by an artist or craftsman. The wood duck decoy is screwed to the shelf made from aged cedar. This is a nice wildlife. Nature or hunting décor. It is about 17 1/2' wide and about 11' tall and about 5' deep. This decoy is scratched and scuffed a bit but makes it look older and more used. It is made of wood with a brass beak. I have seen these decoys before but not in this setting. Vintage 1800's Studebaker Buggy Buckboard Seat Primitive Antique Very Rare!
Up for bids is a nice original vintage buckboard buggy seat manufactured by"Studebaker" If you have never seen a Studebaker buggy seat it's because they are extremely rare and don't turn up very often. I have owned the seat for a good number of years. The previous owner knew that the seat originated from Kentucky but that is really all the history that I have on it. It has a nice patina, the wood is solid and the seat is tight. It is quite usable the way it is, or it would make a great display piece. The seat measures 40 inches long X 17 inches wide X 9 inches high(not including the springs) The original paint is faded, you can see though that part of the name Studebaker is still legible. I know these don't turn up very often so it would be really great if it could find a new home completing someone's Studebaker ... morebuggy restoration project. The auction includes the seat and springs and spring mounting hardware, it DOES NOT include the rod iron stand that you see. The stand is available to the winning bidder for $25.00 but it probably needs picked up which is the reason I am not able to include it. Primitive Antique 19th Century Turned Wood Pin Cushion Thread Spool Holder I have to tell you about the auction that I went to this week. It was in Geneva Illinois. In a sandstone building that was built before the Civil War. The sale was the final liquidation of an antique store(they‘d had one previous auction- so much stuff, they had to have two) that used to operate out of this location- but the building has been closed, as well as the business, for over 20 years following the passing of the previous owners. Now, we’re talking two stories, an attic and a basement PACKED with antiques- it’s hard to imagine, and all of it just sitting for two decades. These folks had amassed a huge antique collection- many many items dating back to the early 1800s and before. There’s some gorgeous pieces of primitive Americana that I found. I can’t tell ... moreyou how excited I am to be listing my treasures from the sale. I will be listing them for weeks to come. I also have the last of my farm auctions and South Dakota finds listed this week, so there’s something for everyone! Love this sweet old primitive piece. It's a spool holder pin cushion dating back to the 1800s. As you can see from my photos. The pin cushion material has totally worn(about 1/2 gone I'd say) over the years, and whatever padding it used to have inside of it is gone. Through the missing material pieces you can look down right to the wood that used to hold the cushion. Also, the turned wood base has a crack on one side halfway through it- just from age and temperature changes- so many seasons have passed. The finish is very worn with a darkdark patina. There's light spots, dark spots, small scratches, scrapes nicks and dings. Alllllll that being said- that's what I love about this one- it is an absolutely charming original primitive, and it's all part of the story of this oldee. Check out the small, 4, hand carved oval(almost in simple flower shapes) that surround the outside of the top. It is fancy in a subtle way. It measures 6 1/4" tall

This is not a common washboard. If you search the internet. Only a few Enamel King Washboards are out there. This was made in 1915. It does show signs of use. The blue enamel is still in tact but does show some spots of rust. The opposite side also shows spots of rust. There is some water staining on the wood which is to be excepted. The approximate measurements are 24" tall by 12 3/8" wide. The top board is 2" wide and the sides of the wash area are 1 1/4" wide. A Primitive Antique Hand Hewn Wooden Pennsylvania Farm Stool c.1880's from Lancaster County. Pennsylvania A Hand Hewn Milking Stool with Rare Unusual Swivel Seat Free Insured Shipping! DESCRIPTION A Primitive Old Farm Stool from Lancaster County An Antique Pennsylvania Farm Stool that is most unusual. we've never seen another one like this. a true and quite rare PRIMITIVE handmade wooden stool still with quite a lot of old dry surface paint finish visable. This was made so that the top portion of the stool rotates. A rare SWIVEL SEAT milking stool. The entire stool is all hand hewn and comes apart in three pieces. Probably originally used in the barn for milking cows. It's extremely old. Certainly at least c.1880 and possible well before that date. The base has three legs that are mortised through the thick slab of wood that supports ... morethe seat. Looking down on the top of this part of the stool. You can see that all three of the legs are mortised and tenon construction. Each was fitted with a small piece of wood, splaying the top portion of the leg and adding strength to the join. One tenon has an old nail through it. Each of the legs was hand hewn, you can see the axe marks clearly on them. One of the legs was replaced, but many years ago, it has a more rough surface and there is no old paint on that one. The other two have a smooth feel to the surface, and you can still see and feel the axe marks. The seat is made from one solid piece of oak. Again all hand hewn. It's quite wide and oval shaped measuring 12" across in one direction and 11" across in the opposite direction. And it is dish shaped, raised at the sides and dips down low toward the center. The height of the seat portion varies. From wear and use, depending on where you measure, it is anywhere from 3" to 2-3/8" high. Lots of wear visable and old paint around the canted sides. The seat rests upon the slab section that holds the legs and you can see the wear to the wood where they have rubbed against each other over ma

For Your Consideration: Antique Nomadic Terra Cotta HAND CO ILED"Islamic" Style Pottery Water Vessel 21" long 7" wide at widest point. Weighs: 4 lbs. 10 oz. Holds: 140 fl oz. over 2 gallons) Excellent Antique Condition! This rare. Fine old nomadic water jug/vessel was pulled from the sand in Saudi Arabia by an American military man in the late 1970's. I took this piece to a local antique store owner, and he confirmed that he believed this to be an authentic nomadic water jug. Probably 200 years old(or possibly older) This jug would have had a leather strap for hanging on a camel, for carrying water on trips across the desert. These vessels were frequently discarded when empty, as they were easily replaceable at the time, and it made travel easier by relieving excess weight. Sand is supposed to make a very fine environment ... morefor preservation of such items. Which explains why it has been preserved in such good condition. The hand decoration on the pottery is done in wax. Not paint.Which was also commonly used for decoration. You can see where the wax has over time seeped into the porous pottery. This jug was hand made from pottery"coils" Incredibly. This jug is still water tight and has a capacity of approx. 140 fl. oz(over 2 gallons) You could look for years and never find another jug of such high quality and rarity! Two Sweet Primitive Antique Reading Magnifying Monocles Connected By Ribbon I have to tell you about the auction that I went to last week. It was in Geneva Illinois. In a sandstone building that was built before the Civil War. The sale was the final liquidation of an antique store(they‘d had one previous auction- so much stuff, they had to have two) that used to operate out of this location- but the building has been closed, as well as the business, for over 20 years following the passing of the previous owners. Now, we’re talking two stories, an attic and a basement PACKED with antiques- it’s hard to imagine, and all of it just sitting for two decades. These folks had amassed a huge antique collection- many many items dating back to the early 1800s and before. There’s some gorgeous pieces of primitive Americana that I found. I can’t tell ... moreyou how excited I am to be listing my treasures from the sale. I will be listing them for weeks to come. I also have the last of my farm auctions and South Dakota finds listed this week, so there’s something for everyone! Here is an adorable pair of antique monocles that are attached by an old ribbon. I do believe that these may have started off life as a pair of glasses. As each one has a teenie rough spot on one side at about the same spot, but the make do was added- in the ribbon- it is old too. I believe that they are reading, or magnifying lenses- that's at least what I see when I try to use them- a very light magnification. I cannot tell you for sure, though as I have no way of telling for sure. Each lens is framed in a gold metal that has no markings on it(and a magnet does not stick to) and they measure 1 1/2" by 1 1/4" They are in excellent condition overall, with minor scratching to the glass, but still easy to see through. The ribbon is in excellent condition too- it shows dirt and dust and all could use a good wipe off/cleaning- I have not cleaned them in any way. I just love the look- don't you wish they could talk! The type of the machinery is unknown but it is definitely more than a hundred years old. The gear is well cast and there are no cracks present. It would be a perfect addition to any collection of old machinery parts, Steampunk sculptures or garden ornaments. You do not see gears like that anymore. Antique wood primitive saddle tree 13" seat, good condition

ANTIQUE STEP FOR STAGECOACH OR WAGON WESTERN AMERICANA PRIMITIVE
Up for bid is an IRON STEP FROM A STAGE COACH OR OLD WAGON. It is 7 1/2" from the top of the bracket to the bottom of the bend where the step is attached. The step is 5" long and 4" wide. It has a raised oval pattern with a diamond pattern in the center for anti-skid purposes. This step is a very nice piece of transportation history from the old west. This is a fine example of the kind of equipment used on old wagons or stagecoaches for boarding or disembarking.This item is in very good condition with no dings, dents or scratches, it has surface rust only, which is to be expected on an item over 100 years old. This is the perfect item for all you western buffs out there who want a piece of history to use for display as a conversation piece or for a restoration piece on that stagecoach or wagon you are restoring.
