We found these in a three seasons porch at a lake shore ... moreestate. Although not in poor condition, we felt the needed some love and restoration. We have re-finished the black bases and white wire seat shells with two coats of primer and three coats of high quality enamel based paint. We think they look pretty nice! One of the wire chair shells has some small broken wires and some small cracks in the front screw mounting arbors, as pictured. They do not affect the function or sturdiness of the chair. The other three shells have no broken wires or cracks. None of the chairs show any evidence of repairs, but may have a few wires that are slightly bent. We placed nylon washers between the bases and seat shells. We are also including the original bikini pads which are in fair condition. The have waste cattle hair pads and what appears to be a faux reptile skin naugahyde coverings. We feel these could be salvaged and restored with the original padding and production tags intact, if you wish. The rubber boot glides are all original with the exception of one new replacement. A few glides have some small cracks and two have back tape holding them together. We will include 2 new extra replacement glides as well. Bases will be removed for shipping. One chair has a broken wire/welds on the side as pictured in image 10 though since it is on the lower wire the chair is still sturdy even as is. Great find! This table was purchased along with a Herman miller gateleg and(2) DCM chairs that have been in the family since the 50's. Please see the listing of the gateleg table. The base is solid steel. I believe the top is ash? The condition is good for it's age. The table top has a small piece of veneer that has broken off from the bottom(pictured) its not on the top. The top was only clean with a damp cloth, no oils or cleanings solutions where used. The base could use a good buff. This obscure modernist set has a great look and features a beautiful Rosewood dining table(with a built in revolving lazy susan center! and 4 incredible floating cantilevered dining chairs on fine chrome frames. This set comes from a beautiful mid century estate and was well kept but does show some age appropriate wear from use. The table has some general wear to the original finish including some water marks and light scratches as pictured. The table ... moreis very usable as-is but would be incredible if it was refinished. The chrome legs of the table show nicely with a light age appropriate patina(we have not tried to clean or polish them) The lazy susan mechanism works very nicely. The white laminate center has some expected light surface wear from regular use as pictured. The table is very nicely constructed and is very sturdy. The previous owners had put some wood screws in the underside of the table(i think they had built extension leaves) this is not notable or visible unless you are physically under the table but should be mentioned. The chairs have an incredible look from all angles with interesting flat bar chrome frames and beautiful floating cantilevered seats. The chairs are all in good condition- one has some small nicks to the upholstery which is not very distracting but should be mentioned(see picture13) The chrome frames of the chairs have an age appropriate patina. They have not been cleaned or polished but should clean up very nicely. We are selling this rare mid century set in as found original condition for use as-is or for restoration. Vtg, Westclox Dynamic # S10-R Electric Alarm Clock Eames Mid Century Gold
Westclox Dynamic vintage Electric Alarm Clock in the elongated oval design. This color was produced only for a short period of time 1958-1959 and is called Maple Sugar. Other colors Pineforest Green. Dynamic Pink and Dynamic White were produced 1960-1961. When plugged in. It works well with a little hum. I did check the alarm and it did work. This clock does have surface scratches on the clear plastic covering the face. On the underside there are two brass colored feet. The right side was cracked and repaired as shown in the photos. As a result this foot is not as tight as the other. You can see where it was glued and repaired. I purchased it in this condition. I have made no repairs. Selling as found. Creative Playthings Perception Plaques Eames era Vintage Learning Toy 1969
Vintage educational learning toy from 1969. From the famous mid century Creative Playthings company. 24 wood tiles. All present and in excellent condition. Original box is worn at the edges where it folds closed and there is a stain on the rear of the box(see pics) This toy is on page 27 of the 1970 Creative Playthings catalog. Would go well with any Eames era or Mid Century Modern collection. Or simply as a working educational toy for a child. Creative Playthings was an educational toy store and catalogue that was established by Frank and Theresa Caplan in 1945. The goal of Creative Playthings was to provide simple and beautifully designed toys to promote a child’s creativity and imagination. Charles Eames said he wanted to build a chair with"the warm receptive look of a well used first baseman's mitt. This chair, circa 1989, is being sold by the original owner(still has Herman Miller label) and was in use in a corporate library or in storage so it is in excellent, almost new condition. The rosewood shell(now classified as endangered and no longer available in newer models) has one minute chip(see photo) and the black leather has no signs of wear. Tears, or punctures. This auction is for the chair only. It does not come with the matching ottoman. It can be picked up at our Princeton. Rare Georgian Sterling Brandy Warmer This is a wonderful antique English sterling silver brandy warmer that dates to 1810. This Georgian period piece has a turned wood handle. The lid is removable. And the spout cover on the lid flips up and down. This brandy warmer was made by Rebecca Emes(or Eames) and Edward Barnard. This partnership was part of the oldest silversmith business in history. It started with Anthony Nelme in 1680 and continues to this day as Edward Barnard& Sons. The other hallmarks date the pot to 1810(London) During the reign of King George III. There are matching hallmarks on both the main warmer and the lid, with the same date letter for 1810(letter"P" The sterling lion passant mark is on the warmer, the lid and the spout cover. This piece measures about 10" inches in length. From the handle. The height ... moreis about 4-3/4" to the top of the finial(not including the handle) It weighs exactly 400 grams. There is no monogram. This rare item is in very good condition with no dents or dings. There are normal light surface scratches. The turned wood handle is in nice shape. Metal, glass and plastic 3-bottle wood-housed tantalus has liquor bottles for Bourbon, Scotch and Rye. The cabinet case lock is not included. Apparently only infrequently used, the fired-on gold paint decoration to all three bottles is mostly excellent. Measures 3⅝" deep x 10⅜" wide x 11⅜" high. Some finish staining exists to the wood finish, shown. All caps have finish wear within their extreme centers. One rubberized tab foot furniture guard protector is missing, exposing the nail. With the nail in place, the unit sits level. As the decanter bottles lift& fit-lock into the underside of the top panel notched openings, there may have been a removable step-up panel to place under the bottles' ... morebase for stability when stored, no longer with the set. I've included two thicknesses of cardboard wedging as an ample substitute. No maker's markings evident on the wood case. A very stylish. Mid cen mod lounge chair, made by steelcase, and still has all the tags! Reminiscent of some of Saarinen or Jens risom designs, it's really an eye catching chair, but Very cozy and not so large it dominates a room or space. Just a very well designed accent chair. Dimensions are approx 30" tall, 25.5" wide/deep. 17.5" seat height. Condition is excellent. Some minor wear/scuffs on the legs. And some very minor wear on the fabric. Eames Herman Miller Softpad Aluminum Group Mid Century Modern Desk Office Chair
This is a vintage. Authentic herman miller softpad management aluminum group chair designed by Charles and Ray Eames, and featured in time life magazine. The chair is a classic. Though it does have a few condition issues. There are some scuffs and scratches on the arms, and small tears on some of the edges of the fabric. The upholstery is faded over time, and the foam is breaking down. It's easy to replace, and actually has a zipper to open it up and restuff the upholstery, so it's a simple enough maintenance issue. The base itself is in working condition. However, the knob to turn for raising and lowering the chair height adjustment has been mishandled at some point, and now the edges are sharp, so gloves may be necessary to adjust it. Once height is set, it's great, but it's by no means in mint condition. Also, if the chair ... moreis lifted upwards,it will slide off the base. Overall. It needs some TLC and restoration, but it is an all time mid century modern design classic, and with the proper care, will look great and provide a comfortable desk chair for many years to come.
