These brass colored flush mount door pulls are in their original box and have not been used though they probably date from the 1960's. They are fresh from a local estate. The box has a label that say's: KV 100 No. 801XBZ Pulls Bronze Knape& Vogt Mfg. Co. Grand Rapids. Mich. U.S.A. on the end. If I counted them correctly there are 82 of them left in the box. The outside diameter is about 1 inch and the part that pushes into the sliding door is about 3/4 of an inch. This was a Mid-Century Modern style that was popular in the 1960's, they would be used in sliding cabinet doors for pushing the doors sideways. Look at this gem from the distant past of historic Petaluma. California. Reclaimed from an 1880's Victorian mansion listed in the Register of Historic Places is this sweet jewel. It has been kept hidden in a carriage house behind the home for many years. The dimensions are the following: 84 1/4 inches tall. 32 and 1/8 inches wide. The door is 1 1/8 inches thick. Beautifully crazed white paint. The inside is painted a dark green sage color with cream color on top. Built with mortise and tenion joints. This door is still solid and substantial. The back plate features a Federal urn at the top and tons of handwork. The back plate measures 9" long by 2" in width and the condition is excellent with bends breaks or repairs. Please note the very folky somewhat off set and tilted keyhole. There are no makers marks but judging by the workmanship and design I would place the date of manufacture to the early 1800's. The back plate is in outstanding condition. It displays great and will make an excellent addition to someone's collection, shouldn't it be yours!
