This weekend. Like all weekends from spring to winter, I went"saleing" hitting every garage, tag and estate sale I could find. At the estate sale of a retired sound engineer, I found a WHOLE BOX of 1960's GM automotive TV commercials on 16mm film that the former owner had worked on. I'll be offering the whole box in dribs and drabs over the next few weeks in lots of different categories to find the widest appeal and to save on the oppressive Ebay fees. So bookmark my site and check back occasionally to see what else I'm offering. The films were stored since the 1960's in a cool, dry basement, and appear to be in excellent condition. Each are 60-second commercials, unless otherwise noted. As I don't have a 16mm projector, I had to pull off long lengths of film and check it with a magnifying glass while holding ... moreit up to the light to see exactly what was on the film. I do the very best I can to describe what's on these films as accurately and completely as I can, using the magnifying glass and any documentation that might be on the film, box or can. THIS commercial features 1967 models of CADILLACS. It opens with the EL DORADO and 4-DOOR(FLEETWOOD? sitting in front of a beautiful brick mansion in the circular driveway. A woman with a Dior-looking very 60's mod dress comes out and gets into the 4 door model& loving admiring the sumptuous interior, drives away. Then, her Mad Men suit-attired husband comes down the steps, slips into his EL DORADO and drives off. The commercial shows both cars inside and out from all angles. This commercial was filmed in 1966 for the 1967 model year, and has a warning on the film cannister that it is to be held from release until"7AM, Fri. Sept 30, 1966" Any questions? BEFORE YOU BID. It is in very good condition with all of the inside telephone components. However as expected for the age it has signs of wear. The telephone handset is located inside a smaller door with"embossed" instructions on the metal door. This Gamewell Front Door Assembly is mostly made of cast aluminum. The two door hinges were broken and are not included. However, gamewell call box hinges are frequently offered for sale on ebay. The Door Lock Assembly and Key are included. This guy is running(face lights, shakes shaker, pours drink, lifts to mouth, puckers, face turns red) I don't see any smoke coming out of his ears though. The battery door latch is a little loose too, so he tends to stop here and there. Just make sure the contacts are hitting and you should be good, or perhaps you can figure out something with the latch. Overall physical condition is not bad. His shirt is a little dirty and there is some wear in spots on the tin base/bar and green behind his ears from where his glasses rested(glasses are missing) Battery compartment is great though.
