9" 6 1/2" bezel) Double Dog-ear Bronze Porthole- Gulf of Mexico Salvage Nice Vintage Nautical Salvage item from the Gulf.Ship unknown.This is a heavy bronze porthole/ portlight with two dog-ear screw-downs. The bezel(window size) is 6 1/2" and the porthole is about 1 1/4" deep. Don't see any indication of foundry or maker. Really nice looking. cond: the hinge pin is present but sheared. What that means is that if you unscrew the two dog-ears. The"window" potion of the porthole will separate from its mount. Depending on what you plan to do with it, a simple repair would be to drill horizontally through the pin and insert a small brass rod. Bronze is relative soft so this would not be difficult.

A well provenanced ancient Near Eastern Bronze Age apear head. Dating to approximately 1200- 800 B.C. This magnificent. Large ancient weapon has a beautiful bright green patina. With long triangular blade, subtle, raised mid rib, and short flat tang with perforation, designed to fix to a long wooden spear shaft in antiquity, now long perished. Condition: Very fine for a weapon of this age and type. Unrestored. Length: 13 3/4 inches. Provenance: Ex-Collection of Henk Huffener(1923– 2006) A respected artist, officially honoured hero of the Dutch resistance, and successful antiques dealer, with establishments in Surrey and Kensington, England. Huffener was born in Utrecht in 1923. One of nine children. He soon became known for his artistic talents, most notably for his still lifes, portraits, and abstractionist works. Huffener, inspired by his ... morefather, also became immersed in the world of anti-fascist activism. Come the start of the war, he began traveling the Netherlands, helping Jews escape Nazi-occupied Europe by providing them with forged papers, and hiding them from their persecutors. This incredible bravery and selflessness was documented in The Other Schindlers by Agnes Grunwald-Spier(2010) and Huffener was honoured by Yad Vashem as'Righteous Among the Nations' in 1998. An unusual metal medal from the 1939 New York World's fair. It has the shape of a ship's anchor with the ball and obelisk insignia of the World's Fair in the center. I think the metal is either brass or bronze(and not iron) A magnet does not stick to it. There is script on the center cartouche.But it is worn(or lightly embossed) and I just cannot make out what is stated on the left side. The right side has"World's Fair/ New York" but it is also very faint) It measures about 2 1/2" in length and about 2 1/4" at the widest point. As best as I can tell, it is in great shape w/ original patina. Please email with any questions.
