Fine Arts & Crafts Handmade Copper, Brass, Pewter Hammered Footed Cup
Measuring 2” tall by 3” from rim to edge of handle& having a rim diameter of 1 7/8” This is unmarked, but carefully made. The handle& foot appears to be copper as does another foot, but the last foot appears to have been carefully repaired, perhaps with pewter& brass so I don’t know exactly what went on here. The feet are applied with a tri-foil weld it appears, but I see nothing inside the cup except the hammered“pewter” interior& copper exterior. Here is an absolutely fabulous old candle lamp in original unpolished condition. The base is copper with an alligator skin surface hammered into folds. Attached is a metal stem curved into a handle at the bottom. The shade is punched copper and is attached to the stem with a screw that tightens and loosens to allow the hood to move up and down with the height of the candle. Set into the base and shade are colored faceted glass cabochons. The inside of the shade is darkened from candles burning. Good overall condition for its age. Arts and crafts mission period slag glass light fixture
Pictured is an original arts and crafts period slag glass hanging shade. It dates from around 1912-1920's.I believe the company to be Empire. The color of the slag glass is caramel on the upper panels and light green on the lower. I have looked it over several times and there are no cracks in the glass. The panels are all original. The metal filigree is also fine, no breaks or pieces missing. I have pictured slight spaces under the ribs which may be normal. At any rate they are completely solid. The decorative chain and original cloth wiring is in great condition. The 3 old brass sockets as well. The original ceiling plate is detached from the last chain link. It's easier to rewire it up detached. There are appox.4ft. Of chain. This shade is extremely heavy. It came out of an early 1900's home. It has 16 panels is about 26" ... moreacross and 12.5" tall. Here we offer a most unusual turn of the century Fire Screen. We believe it is from the Mission Arts and Crafts Period. There is a most beautiful Quarter Sawn Oak border that framed the Needlework. The main frame is painted a rusty red color. This is exactly how we aquired this piece. The center decoration is a Needlework portrait that depects and older man with a very small boy at his knee. The needlework is old and in very good but not perfect condition. The piece is still very worthy of display. A back liner would be great over the treadwork. It looks as though there was a covering long ago on the back. The Screen is in very good shape and displays very well. It measures 34" tall by 31 1/4" wide by 7 1/2" deep at the standing bottom. 30's Arts Crafts Signed Carved Danish Oak Bookends Hotel d’Angleterre Denmark
Just when you thought you had found everything there is to find! Bookends measure 6 ¾” high by just over 4 3/8” wide. Each has a burned Arts& Crafts Wiggers signature and each has paper tag and one has paper tag from the Hotel d’Angleterre which has writing that states from Simonsen June 1948. But I believe by the marks and tags that these were made in the late 1920’s or into the 30’s. Each is carved Knudskab Er Magt or Knowledge is Power and each has an Arts& Crafts carved floral design above the lettering. The hotel label is partially torn away and has tape at top holding it in place. The oak is ¼” thick and the lower wedges that go under the books are original oak plywood or laminate, one has sticky tape marks on the bottom. Pieces display great and appear to be original finish. The back of the scale is marked: Pelouze Scale& Mfg Co The front is marked: CRESCENT. The dates below the postal rates should read June2. 1896, M 1898, Jan. 31 1899. A part of this tin litho is missing(please see my pictures) The base is marked: PELOUZE& MFG. CO. CHICAGO PAT. JUNE 2. 96 MAR. 29 98 JAN. 31 1899 U.S. CANADA ENGLAND FRANCE BELGIUM GERMANY. Measures a prox. 3 1/4" tall x 3" deep x almost 2" wide. The top flat piece of the scale sets on top and is not secured in any way. There is some brass finish wear to the hole area(see pics) Good vintage condition. Needs to be cleaned. Finish loss and surface rust is seen on the metal. This may not be brass. But pot metal in a brass ... morefinish on the metal. I am not sure and am not an expert. You can weigh envelopes with this, but I am not sure as to accuracy. There is a knob that turns so you can adjust it. ANTIQUE ARTS AND CRAFTS TEST FIRE POTTERY VASE BLUE GREEN GLAZE FULPER
Up for bids is a lovely piece of arts and crafts pottery that appears to be a test fire recipe sample. It looks like it could be fulper as i have had fulper pottery in the past and it had close to the same kind of mark but i will let the experts decide. It is a wonderful form and has a unique blue/green color to it. There is also a dark brown glaze on the inside on 3 of the 4 sides and at first i thought it was dirty but that is how they glazed it as the 4th side has the same blue green color as the outside of the vase. There is also some spots of a dark metallic brown/gold color that at first i thought it was applied later but looks like it was fired into the pottery? see the pictures The only flaw that i can see is what appears to be a repair or a bare piece that never got any paint/glaze as it is fairly smooth to the touch and hard like ... morethe pottery is. It measures approx 8 1/2"inches tall by approx 4 1/4"inches across the base and approx 2 3/4"inches across the top opening. This is a unique piece that was found at a local storage auction that was tucked away for over 20 years from an old antique store/auction company along with other unique and antique items.
