The Feet Look like Arts& Crafts style, the Cut out designs that are on both ends of the stool are A&C era too. At some time someone has added some wood on the very bottom I beleive to stablize it. With the other half showing some wear. There is slight scattered moth damage particularly along the side and end. As with most Axminister rugs, the rug never had a fringe. The ends are finished off and folded over. This rug has been professionally hand cleaned by our own conservation team with a restorative thorough washing adhering to National Institute of Textiles and AIC(American Institute for the Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works) guidelines. The protein and lanolin based soap conditions the natural fibres in the rug and returns the original lustrous character and richness of colour to the wool. No steam extraction ... moremethods or chemical detergents were used during the cleaning process. Ever step possible was taken to preserve the historic nature and conserve the rugs condition. We do not use ANY optical enhancers of any kind(natural or chemical) Optical enhancers damage and pull dye to the surface of the rug's fibres. It is not only a handsome piece. But very practical. I think it has been used or displayed in every room of my home over the years. I would imagine this dates to the early 1900's. Measurements are 14" long(top) x 10" wide x 10 1/4" tall. With a thick 1" board on top. It is solid oak- partially quartersawn- and has a wonderful patina with beautiful grain. It appears to be handmade and very nicely crafted, with even some nails that look squared. I purchased this at auction. I thought it was neat. Decorated in an Arts& Crafts/ Art Nouveau style with the leaves across the top with a loop to help open the box held on with a bracket and round fasteners. I don't understand how they are held on. All metal. Measures 9" long x 3 1/4" wide x 1 3/8" tall. No marks. Inside: 4 slots for cards? Tray for pens when open? The problem with this is if it is real, it's a treasure. If it is a reproduction, I can see it too. It has smeared patina, looks like sand in the bottom interior, rust in and out, looks like old paint scraped off with years of being in a cellar or garage shelf. The collection is an accumulation of 3-4 generations in one family which dates back to the 1860s approximately. Marked Sterling. Both the maker and the high end retailer(Hodgen Kennard of Magnoli a. MA, marks are also on the bottom. There is a repeating ribbon cut out design around the flared edge of the bowl which is interrupted at four quarters by a stylized floral urn. Here is a wonderful Arts& Crafts hammered metalwork box by METCRAFT of Toronto which I believe to be in copper with a brass wash patina that will hold two decks of playing cards in a compartment divided into two spaces. Each measuring 3” x 4 1/4” 1 ½” deep- spacious enough for jumbo cards or even a deck of cards and bridge tallies. The hinged. Lidded box has exposed, ribbon straps on a single, continuous hinge which is riveted to the back and is suspended by flaring legs. Each with six rivets. The lid has four cutouts in the suits of playing cards, with the Diamonds and Hearts at North and South and the Spades and Clubs at West and East. The material in the panel riveted below the cutouts has at one time been colored or dyed red or black, in the colors of the suits, over time becoming less vivid. The piece is 6 ¾” x 4 ¾” ... more1 5/8”high. The divider is partially separated at the rear of the compartment, not affecting use. The piece is signed and numbered on the base. Around a triangular maker’s mark depicting a hand and other design elements: REG TRADE MARK METCRAFT SHOP TORONTO C25” The piece is crafted of fairly heavy gauge material and has an overall small peen hammered treatment. Sitting evenly on it’s decorative feet. The patina has some unevenness, expected, as this is a functional, handled piece. The lid stays up when in the raised position and shows a tiny wrinkle on one corner and some rippling on the edges. This is a vintage or antique hand crafted ashtray or table top smoking stand with match box holder. It comes in two pieces. The ashtray is a brass pan with a twisted wrought iron handle. The handle sits on an arm of the wrought iron stand. At the top of the stand is a copper match box holder. The stand is also crafted from twisted wrought iron with curled feet and a iron knot forming the circle that holds the ashtray. The wrought iron has the vestiges of black paint or japanning. The pieces have their original unpolished patina as found. The pieces measure about 12 inches long and 8 inches tall.

This listing is for a very nice. Unique, antique carved gilt wood accent table. This lovely table is reflective of the Arts Crafts Mission styling with some Spanish influences. This is an old table, not machine manufactured. It is very nicely done, and very beautifully carved with a modified, fleur de lis pattern which is repeated. The legs are substantial and feature nicely curved lines. The top is 8 sided with a center that is slightly raised but also 8 sided. No marks or signatures. Very sturdy and no wobbles. Absolutely perfect condition on this arts and crafts movement votive shade. Not one chip. Crack, nick, ding, flea bite, repair, scratch, scuff, loose piece, etc. The shade is comprised of slag glass with a tulip design and a scalloped edge. It stands 4 and 15/16 high. The scalloped edge extends out 1.125 inches. There are 24 pieces of glass around the scalloped edge. There are 4 tulips around it made of 3 pieces of glass each. There are 4 triangular pieces of glass around each tulip framing it. Between each tulip is a square of glass. Each framed by a triangular piece of glass. The first row from the fitter contains 16 pieces of glass. The second row from the fitter contains 16 pieces of glass. The row with the tulips and squares contains 48 pieces of glass. The bottom row contains 16 pieces of glass The first row on the edge contains 16 ... morepieces of glass. The scalloped row on the edge contains 8 pieces of glass. Grand total of 120 pieces of perfect slag glass with no chips. Cracks or repairs. The fitter hole measures 1 7/8 on the inside and 2.25 inches on the outside. Try as I might. Large Embroidered& Tinted Flapper Lady Framed This is a gorgeous example of textile art. Embroidered and tinted. The image conveys a hot afternoon: a sultry blonde leans out of a window with a cigarette in a long holder in one hand, and a large feather fan in the other. This lovely flapper-era lady's hair is styled in the"wave" popular in the 1920s and 30s, and her cheek is lit with a pink blush. She wears a dark gray green or teal sleeveless dress. Beneath the window is a brick wall, and at each of the corners are stylized flowers and leaves. The needlework, in black and yellow, provides texture and definition to the painted/dyed colors, which are red, mustard yellow, blue, pale peach, and the dark gray green. The colors are bright, showing no fading, and there is very little discoloration of the linen. I also note no tears ... moreor frays; it appears the piece has been in this frame(or some frame, under glass) since it was made. The sizes noted include the beautiful arts& crafts frame, which is a dark and rich wood. This frame has some rough areas on the outer ridge, although these have the same patina as the rest of the frame. VINTAGE ARTS & CRAFTS TIGER QUARTER SAWED OAK BOOK STAND BOOKEND RACK
Bidding is for this vintage arts& crafts tiger quarter sawed oak book stand bookend rack measuring 18" long. 6 7/16" wide, 7 1/2" tall. The rack is in good shape with no cracks or repairs with hand carved carvings on both ends. On the back is carved the name of Alice T Nelson with small metal feet on each corner.
