Seat is very comfortable. It sits relatively upright. High quality new floor glides are in place which are slightly taller than normal. Photos taken in three different light situations(inside. This is a very nice arts& crafts movement wall lantern. I could not find any maker marks. The sconce was purchased at an estate that had a very extensive collection of arts& craft movement items. Unusual Bronze Original Arts & Crafts Dragon Wall Light Fitting, Sconce, Gothic
This is a very unusual Arts and Crafts wall light sconce featuring a mythical beast such as a coiling dragon or sea serpent. It has a small wings and a scaly body. The light fitting is made of bronze and has a brassed coating. It is very gothic in style and is approx. 23 cm( 9 inches) long. I would say it dates from the late 19th century when electricity became available in some homes. The fitting doesn't appear to be a conversion from gas although the brass bulb holder may be a replacement. There is a small old crack at the very base of the tail. This does not go right through and does not affect the stability of the sconce in any way. A line can be seen near the part which goes in to the wall, this may have occurred during casting, it is not damage. There is still some paint on this part. Wonderful pair of early Gorham sterling silver arts and crafts hammered candlesticks. They are in nice conition with a few dings here and there- nothing very big. Needs to be polished and one candlestick leans just a bit- probably can adjust it. They are tall- about 10 inches tall. They are 3 5/8 inches in diameter at the base. This is a very interesting Art Deco/ Arts& Crafts Tall Silver Trumpet Vase by the Barbour Silver Co. circa 1895. The design of this piece is striking and unusual and stands 17 inches tall. The base is 5 1/4 inches wide and the top of the trumpet is 2 3/8 inches wide. The top has nicely detailed rim that matches the six-sided(hexagonal) flared base. The condition is very good with some age appropriate wear to the decorative beading between the base and the upper vase. There is a very small dent in one side of the base as shown in photo 5. The bottom is marked"BSCEP" NS" which indicates The Barbour Silver Company Electroplated on Nickel Silver. CHUBBY HEINTZ DESIGN SILVER CREST BRONZE ARTS & CRAFTS HUMIDOR GRIFFEN / GRYPHON
This listing is for a very appealing. Fat Silver Crest bronze-on-bronze humidor c1915. While it borrows Heintz technique and style(and perhaps even the bronze blanks from that company) it substitutes a bronze overlay for sterling silver. No doubt. Originally, the design of griffons/gryphons was polished to a bright finish for contrast against the dark aged-bronze applied patina. Over time the cut-out pattern has tarnished, though, and while its edges show remnants of lighter/brighter finish, I didn't polish it in case the buyer might prefer to leave it as is. To give you a better sense of size and proportion(as so many Heintz& Silver Crest pieces that appear large in eBay photos turn out to be very tiny) I've shown it alongside the large 10" Heintz vase I listed earlier this week. While the humidor stands about 6 inches tall ... moreand measures 5-5 1/2 inches in diameter, it's a handful and weighs in at just about 1 1/2 pounds. What I found interesting(not being terribly familiar with humidors) is that the humidity for the stored cigars was maintained by moistening a clay/ceramic disk attached to the inner lid. You'll see that the owner is instructed to re-moisten the disk when it dries and the color lightens. In any case. It's a very nice piece and one that will undoubtedly complement an arts/crafts or Heintz& Silver Crest collection. Its condition is excellent with some slight scuffs to the surface from near 100 years' use, thought it's survived these years without dings, dents, or damage to the body, the interior, or the overlay. Although I'm in the process of downsizing. It seems I haven't totally broken the habit of pouncing on things I like. With that in mind, I'm hoping this neat humidor finds a great new home before it becomes yet another permanent part of mine: If you have any questions. Please don't hesitate to e-mail. Each end has two hammered iron legs which are black with red highlights. There are two bottom twisted iron supports that attach the bench together. The legs are in a drapery tassel pattern. The bench still retains the original textural fabric. It is a golden brown color and has a celtic pattern which compliments the entire feel of the bench. It is in good condition but does ... morehave a small hole in one area and some minor aging. It can be re-upholstered very easily. The bench is in wonderful, antique condition. The paint is still vivid and the gold gilded finish excellent. There are minor rusted spots to the iron in just a few areas, but only very slight. There has been one bolt which was replaced with a screw, but can be corrected to match(not very noticeable) The bench measures 16" tall. We are pleased to offer this wonderful antique. Arts and Crafts chandelier. This chandelier features ornate design in the Tudor/Gothic style. The frames are open and are gilt, hammered iron with brass bottom sections. There are 3 crowns/crests attached to the center band of the chandelier. The center downrods feature an incised pattern. The chandelier retains their original ceiling cover/canopies. The canopy is brass and features an embossed, repousse pattern which is quite ornate and which also repeats the crown/crest design. Very good, antique condition. There is some aged patina to the gilted iron and some age spots on the brass. There is a small ring on the bottom finial. This is a very nice old chandelier. Considering their age, their condition is very good. Their wiring is vintage but has been updated from the original and is is in ... morevery good condition. Chandelier measures 20" in height from bottom to top finial; 8" in diameter at the widest point. The hanging chain measures approximately 30" and the canopy measures 6" in length. We are pleased to offer this unusual carved wood hanging lamp! This antique to older vintage fixture is very large. It features 6 panels in a combination of carved wood and wrought iron. The six panels have large arched windows with ornate carving above and below the arched openings. The panels are further adorned with large. Dimensional, carved wood lion face onlays. The lion face accents are located both on the upper and lower section of each panel for a total of 12. The top and bottom of the fixture features ornately scrolled wrought iron. The iron is twisted and forms the frame for the wood panels. There are 6 twists that run in between each panel. Attached to them are six twists that exend outside the wooden frame. This is a beautiful old fixture with lots of character and wonderful details. It is in good antique condition with minor ... moresigns of age. The patina is beautiful with some minor spots of expected rust on the iron. There is no glass and I do not see any evidence that there ever was. The fixture has one light socket located on the upper section of the interior. The wiring is older but in okay condition. The pendant is quite large. It measures 33" from the bottom of the fixture to the top of the circular ringed finial. The fixture is 13" in diameter measuring from the outer wrought iron twists. This brass wall letter measures about 3 5/8" tall and about 2 7/8" wide" wide at the widest point. 1/2" thick. It's a solid brass piece weighing about 8 ozs. Bradley & Hubbard Smokers Floor Lamp Dated 1899 Arts And Crafts Era
This auction is an estate fresh Arts and Crafts era floor lamp made by Bradley and Hubbard It has an ashtray and match holder attached. The light switch is dated 1899. So that is how I have dated the lamp. It has the original patina. There are a couple of screws missing. As shown in the pictures, but nothing to take away from the uniqeness and beauty of this rare lamp. It may have had some repairs in the past. The light socket says press. But it has an age appropriate toggle switch, and the shade has some solder inside. It gives a warm glow when lit. It measures 53 inches high and extends further. I have not extended it. Van Bergh Arts and Crafts Hammered Silverplate chocolate pot late 1800's
This is a beautifully shaped a ntique Arts and Crafts h ammered s ilver plate chocolate pot made by the Van Bergh Silver Plate Co. circa late 1800's. It is silver plating over nickel silver. On the bottom it is hallmarked VB Co NS 2521. The pot looks as if it has been shaped by hand. With a hammered texture on the lid and body, and a rolled rim on the lid and the base. All joints and welds are solid. As you will note in the picture, there is a bit of a dent in the base which causes the pot to tilt slightly, though it still sits solidly on a surface. This would not be a difficult repair for a professional. We have not polished this chocolate pot in the 20 years we have owned it. As we feel the patina is beautiful, and enhances the arts and crafts period look. Vintage 1922 Rookwood Arts& Crafts Blue Vase Rose Bowl From an Estate. This is small 1922 Rookwood vase or rose bowl that measures 3-5/8” tall by about 5” in diameter at the widest area. My camera doesn't quite capture the actual blue and it may look different on your monitor but it's more of a denim blue with varied areas of shine. There are no chips. Cracks or crazing in this piece. There are some linear areas upon close inspection that are silver in color, perhaps having come into contact with something else. On one shoulder of this vase you can still see the original price of 3.50 which appears to be penciled on and isn't very easy to spot on the piece but my flash really made it stand out. For Sale I have a pretty Door Pottery vase. This vase was called the Atomic Vase. The vase has a new Faience blend of White. Raspberry an d Dark Blue Glazes. The White and raspberry break a bit lik e some wax matts Ive seen. I think I'll only use this combo for special pieces and show pots. The bottom is marked Scott Draves. JT with the Door 2011 stamp. This vase stands 6.25" tall by 4" Always keep in mind that this piece is hand thrown hand decorated and hand glazed. Every piece was unique. I ship Fedex ground and USPS insured. Handling and shipping time is 5 business days after the payment is received. Fed Ex can take up to another 5 business days to deliver not including weekends. I'm a good guy I offered to refund his money 3 different times if he would please return the vase for me to inspect. He said he wouldn't return the vase because his wife liked it and he instead would give me my one and only negative review. ARRRR My point is I'm a decent person and don't play games. If you get your vase and find a problem I missed will work with you every way possible to resolve it. But if you have a question about something please ask it before you bid.
