Vintage ARTS& CRAFTS Copper Tray Laguna Beach. California We've had this for several years and are clearing out some of our original Arts& Crafts collectables. This is a nice hand-hammered copper tray from the CRAFTSMAN STUDIOS in Laguna Beach. California. I believe it dates from somewhere around the 1920's. The tray has a great patina and measures roughly 16 inches diameter. We have used it as a center piece on our kitchen table(three felt pads stuck to bottom of tray to protect table) but it also has the ability to hang the pice on a wall. Offered is this fantastic vintage Arts and Crafts Jugendstil era wrought iron smokers companion. In very good vintage condition with an aged patina. I think the flag on the mast has gone missing and it has a tight line or crack on the base. See pictures. Very minor issues considering the age and wear from use. Looks like it has the original hammered metal tray that is removable and could be replaced with a glass insert if desired. Impressed Germany on the bow of the ship and designed by Hugo Berger vintage 1915-1920's era. Great looking piece for the cigar aficionado or arts and crafts collector! Complete with its burner and stand this Victorian Benham and Froud Spirit kettle is a lovely example of Arts and Crafts brassware. Christopher Dresser designed many items that were made by this workshop and this comes complete with their distinctive orb mark on the base. In good condition with no real dents or knocks this is a real find from an Irish estate that I am clearing. It is just over 12" high when on the stand and the base with its crimped and waved edge is 10" in diameter. Low start and no reserve. Please check my other items. This is a lovely piece of arts and crafts I think in the Glasgow style and from my fathers house made from hammered brass with circular roundels both to the sides and lid it measures 7.5 inches long. By 3.75 deep and 3.5 inches high. In good condition it has nicely folded seams and a good solid handmade hinge. Dating to around 1900 it has a wood lined interior and sits on four roundels designed as feet. It will look wonderful as part of any collection or on display in a period home. You are bidding on an original Gustav Stickley"pencil post" settle. 222. This rare and highly sought after example has seldom surfaced in the past few decades. The settle is signed with the Craftsman paper label on the inside lower right stretcher, and is clearly pictured in various Gustav Stickley catalogues, including the one pictured here. The 222 may be the most eloquent form of settle that Gustav Stickley produced. He made in in a shorter and longer form-this one is the far more desirable long version. The 222 is a singularly comfortable arts and crafts era settle that unlike so many such forms has unusual depth and overall ergonomic design features. Graceful and proportional. The 222 features tapered pencil posts with rounded pyramidal crowns that rise above an elongated even arm carriage. This horizontal appearance is accentuated ... moreby 22 narrow back slats and eight side slats to each side, all mortised at a slight enveloping cant. Rounded mouldings at once soften and thicken the tops of the upper stretchers. A single rail mounted boxed spring leather seat cushion spans the length of the settle, with two matching square pillows as accents. It is the epitome of the principles of simplicity, honesty, and subtle design that marked the arts and crafts movement. This settle was constructed of big. Old growth quartersawn white oak, with superb selections and tight grains exhibited throughout. Such trees no longer exist. Over 100 years of drying has lightened what must originally have been a very heavy frame. The finish is a beautiful medium brown fumed oak color that resonates orange/yellow hues in the sap wood veins of the quartersawing. Fine and durable mortise, tenon, and pin joinery make this an extremely solid piece of furniture. The original spring cushion is extremely heavy, with a hardwood box framing a field of springs that are attached to strong steel struts beneath. Vtg primitive Arts and Crafts hammered copper art metal vase Beautiful OOAK
Lovely hand hammered Primitive copper art metal vase from the Arts and Crafts movement with a scalloped edge on the lip and the original patina. Measures about 4 1/4" across the widest part of the top and 5 1/2" high. Looking down into the vase. You can see the silver solder marks. It looks like there might be some ancient melted candle wax in the bottom of the piece that I did not try to remove, but just mentioning its presence. It is also rather heavy for it's size. I listed another piece earlier that was larger in size but not quite as heavy. The base may be weighted? No clue.

This antique Arts& Crafts Stickley cube chair is a fabulous find! It is quite large. Heavy and is made of wonderful quarter sawn oak. Description: This is a superb antique Stickley very large cube chair. It dates from the early 1900s Mission and Arts& Crafts period and is in excellent condition. The piece is made of superb quarter sawn oak with the original finish. The piece has an excellent cube form that is big and bulky with arms that are 1" thick. It features very large slats on the sides and back. The arms. Sides and posts have pinned through tenons. The chair has the Stickley Quaint plate underneath and the numbers 808 1/2 or 908 1/2 stenciled on the underside. The seat cushions are covered in leather or faux leather. There are a couple of very small scratches barely noticeable on the bottom leather cushion. I just flipped ... moreit over as both sides are usable. This chair is a rare. Here is a beautiful antique ARTS AND CRAFTS hand hammered copper TREASURE CHEST with hinged lid. This is an incredible hand hammered and heavy solid copper item that has an Art Nouveau feel to it. I think it might be English. But it might be American instead. It is 7" long x 3-1/2" wide x 4" high. There is no damage, and the patina is really beautiful, with that deep chocolate brown color that we all cherish in Arts& Crafts copper. This is in such great condition, and incredible for a piece almost 100 years old. This incredible lidded box is SIGNED on the bottom with a SHIELD OUTLINE with the letters JDM inside. I haven't been able to find out who the maker is, but by the quality of the piece, it must have been a master metalsmith. In this instance, there had been some oxidation on the surface just below the body of the ship. The oxidation had not damaged the surface. It's green coloration, however, needed to be removed. That area still appears to be somewhat blackened in the photographs, but that is not how the piece actually appears. In the second photograph, I intentionally highlighted the oval shaped area around the Gallion. The Gallion and other decorative motifs at either end, appear to be cut out or etched out with acid, thus producing a three dimensional affect which is hard to see in the photographs. It is as if cut outs of the ship, the waves, and decorations had been appliqued to the existing ... moreflat surface. I don't think this is how the layering was accomplished. Rather, the areas were carefully cut out and then highlighted with acid. When I acquired the tray. I thought that it might be copper plated because it is heavy for its size. It weighs One& Three-Quarters[ 1.75] pounds. Or 794 grams. I can find no evidence that the copper plating was applied over a base metal. I could find no spot where the base metal had worn through. And plating would have been nearly impossible given the cut out affect which was used to highlight the Gallion and other decorations. Also, the edges are too finely hammered and no"sandwiching" is evident. The piece is not marked. In the second. Fifth, eighth and ninth photographs, I had to manipulate the coloration to make the ship and all its details visible. The last photograph, for example, looks almost like the tray is made of brass. The tray measuress Fourteen[ 14.00] inches in length. Or 35.50 Cms. The width is Nine[ 9.00] inches. Or. 23.00 Cms. The height is One-Half[ 00.50] of an inch. Or, 1.25 Cms. The Gallion or ship motif was a favorite for many American metal artists in the United States during the late nineteenth

Called"fast stand, oval" in a Syracuse 1914 catalog. I would refer to it as a gravy or sauce boat with attached base. It is listed as Underglaze Tudor Rose 57501. It is approximately 8 3/8" by 5 3/4" by 3 1/4" high and in excellent condition. In spite of my poor picture quality(and two attempts to take photos without glare) I believe you can see that it has some discoloration on the base, and on the rim on one side there is one tiny fleabite where the green trim is missing and I can feel a slightly rough spot. There are some other small areas on the rim where the green line is worn, as shown. Other than that. The Arts& Crafts style wood frame around the tray has a brass handle at each end. The porcelain piece that is set into the frame was manufactured by Villeroy& Boch. The tray measures 20" across the handles. And 10 3/4" wide. It is 3/4" thick. The porcelain is soft green on top and white on the back. There are gold painted decorations on the surface. The surface has a high gloss. So please excuse the reflections. There is a 5" hairline crack in the porcelain. Which goes through to both sides. There is also fine crazing of the glaze due to age. This is a hand hammered pewter charger in good + original condition. It is hand fashioned in the arts& crafts manner. This was a labor intensive piece to produce with all the hand stipple hammering and repousee decoration. In the center you will see a butterfly with sunflowers& foliage. Etc. The rim is decorated with a repeating sunflower design. The charger itself is shaped in the form of an octagon and measures 14 ¾” across. It has had no repairs. We believe it dates to the 1st quarter of the 20th century. We are inclined to believe that it is English or American in origin. The charger was photographed in the shade and is not quite as dark as indicated in the photos and a bit more mellow in appearance. The overall tone is even and not shadowed. Beautiful Old Arts And Crafts Step Stool--Multi Wood - Hand Crafted
It is rare to see such a fine little arts and crafts stool. Such as this. What a spectacular example of American craftsmanship! The stool is very solid and sturdy. There is normal wear on the wood and there is an ever so small(pea size)piece of wood missing on bottom of one leg. In picture 11, you can see a sliver of the inlay missing. My last picture shows a signature of some sort of writing in pencil underneath. There seems to be more writing on the underneath also. VINTAGE c1915-20s ART DECO ARTS & CRAFTS RED EARTHENWARE POTTERY WATER LILY BOWL
Description This vintage circa 1915-20's possibly American Art Deco Arts& Crafts red earthenware pottery bowl. Is moulded with a water lily flower and leaf against an adzed ground with ringed lines around the rim. It is hand painted in semi-matt glazes in shades of greens, pinks and mushroom/chestnut browns against a speckled pale buff ground. This lovely Mission style piece is covered to the underside in the same speckled glaze and the underside shows signs of hand throwing. This does not fit with the apparently moulded front, so the bowl must have been spun to tidy up the back after moulding. It has three kiln support marks with marks from grind stone removal. There is a hand painted number in black enamel'115/16' but no makers marks. It reminds us of various American potteries but particularly Peters& Reed pieces. Antique Mission Arts & Crafts Plant Stand Small Table 2 Tier Hexagonal Shape
Being offered for your consideration is this Mission. Arts& Crafts Style small table or plant stand. It measures 18" tall and it's six-sided top measures 10-1/2" across(at widest point) It has a sort of three-prong shaped base that sits about 4" up from the bottom, which could be used as a second tier for holding a potted plant. The bottoms of legs are bare wood- there are no metal or rubber feet or felt covering. The wood finish on this stand is in great shape. Especially when you consider it's age. Although nothing stands out as evident, there may be a small blemish or surface scratch here and there, commensurate with age. Also the top of stand has what looks to be some spots of residual white paint in the wood grain. I tried to photograph this, but it doesn't really show up in the pictures. It looks like ... morea little very light sanding would get rid of this, but I didn't want to risk doing anything to the finish. This table is structurally sound. Early 20thC Arts & Crafts Farnham Studio Pottery Liberty & Co Owl Jug
Early 20 th century Farnham Pottery Owl Jug of‘waisted’ shape in blue glaze and incised decoration with raised beak and dark eyes. These jugs were supplied to Liberty& Co in their favourite colours for Arts& Crafts ceramics of blue and green. This jug is impressed with the‘X’ mark to the base– see misc-histories.info/farnham-pottery/marks.htm for similar.
