Highly collectible today for home use. As this striking pair shows. Deeply carved in the Bali tradition, solid natural wood, seems like oak, they weigh a ton. I purchased these from an antique dealer in Carmel several years ago. Who had lived in Bali and Indonesia and had these shipped over many years ago. They stand stand 17" 17.5" tall(one a tad bigger than other) Including a 2" thick top, approximately 50" in circumference, measured around the middle. Base is about 3" thick and measures about 14" with octagonal corners. Top measures 19"x 20" for one, other is 18.5"x 19" These are beyond fabulous for tables! They are so heavy and solid. I would guess they weigh at least 100 pounds plus, or more. Original paint, pinks, yellows, greens, more, all deeply carved with the ancanthus leaves, portion of a face in one. Symbolic I am sure, but I only know that they are antique, solid hand carved, with beautifully weathered old natural rustic paint. They are carved all the way around. I cannot hardly move to photo! Beyond shabby chic! Fabulous patina! The natural wear of salvage but that is their beauty! One side on each has a crack that doesn't go through that only adds to the patina. Please see photo of the only one to me, of any consequence, does mot interfere with use. Usually when found they are all cracked from weather but these still retain their artistic solid qualities! Description This is a nice pair that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Home. They are made of chestnut and are currently painted white. They have fluted shafts and decorative moldings. They are not notched for the step. One has its original cap which is cracked and the other is missing the cap and molding just below it. It measures 37.5 without the cap. 6.5 square at the base and 5 inches square at the shaft. Overall they are in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as they are antique. They could use a good cleaning. One has an uneven base and leans. It will need to be trimmed to be straight. Please look at the pictures carefully. Ref: 71263 Shipping. This is a coat rack that I have used a architectural piece from a antique piece. I have primed and painted it a creamy white and added 6 vintage hooks. It measures 36" long and is just under 8" high. The wood is 1" thick. You would just nail this to the wall for stability of holding coats or whatever you are hanging. Would be great in a bathroom. Bedroom or in the mud room. I did not want to damage the trim. It was purchased at an estate sale in WV. The piece measures 22" by 17.5" on the outside of the trim. Up for sale is a salvaged mahogany wood door header or wall décor piece. I purchased this from an architectural salvage warehouse in Cleveland. OH. It was solid mahogany wood with a beautiful wreath with ribbon carving on it. I took it home, cleaned it up and painted a creamy white coat of Annie Sloan chalk paint on it. I only very slightly distressed and detailed the carving and edging of the piece with gold applique paint. It is so pretty! Appx 1/2" width. 16"H and 36"L. Check out my other estate items. Antique Carved Walnut Wood Panel Architectural Salvage Organ Piano Music Holder
As the title indicates. This is a heavy, neat old organ or piano top with its original music book holder. It's ready for a"new life" or a piano/organ searching for a panel. Please review all the photos. As above mentioned, this has several mends, some of which could have been done with a little more skill so the new owner may want to sand to refine the finished look or soften the glue and then re-glue. The round sculpted/scalloped music holder has a tray just below it which has a mend on each side, the forefront of the piece also has two mends(this is a piece which is set/attached to the main body of the piece) and can be removed as it is attached with tiny nails which look as if they will be easily removed. Up for auction is a pair of 1950's- 1960's architectural salvage ornamental wood shelves from Stix. Baer& Fuller, the premier department store chain in St. Louis, MO from 1892 to 1984. Measuring 9 3/4" x 5" both were originally bronze tone and someone painted one flat white. There are some chipped paint and minor cracks which can be seen in the photos. The cracks do not go all the way through nor compromise the stability of the piece. One hanger loop is missing from the bronze one. Sticker is still visable on the back of the bronze one. Antique Primitive Carved Wood Architectural Salvage Pediment 3 Misc. pieces
Three unique vintage architectural salvage wood pieces. All are in very good vintage condition. Will need some cleaning, I will leave that up to their new owner, I don't know enough about old wood to clean it for fear or damaging it. First there is a nice hand carved pediment that measures 18 in. across X 5 in. at the tallest place and 3/4 in. in depth. Next is a unique fan shaped piece with some carving on it, the measurements are 10 in. from point to top X 8 in. at it's widest points and 1 in. at it's deepest depth. Last is a very detail carved rosette, some chipping on 2 of the petals(see pictures) there is a hole drilled in the middle. Overall very nice pieces. Thank you for looking.

ANTIQUE 1880's ARCHITECTURAL SALVAGE STAIR NEWEL POST Offered here is a salvaged antique newel post. Left over from a staircase I installed close to forty years ago(see bottom images) My guess would be that the wood is Chestnut. There are nicks and scratches, as well as some nail holes where handrail attached. The post measures 25-1/2" in height x 5-1/2" x 6-7/8" at square side widths. The turned parts are 5" dia. at the top and the smallest diameter is 3-3/16" Three faces have identical designs. Fourth is where railing attached; one small square broken nail remains. The piece will clean up nicely. But will require a little repair where the top is chipped. SHIPPING WEIGHT: 10 lbs. This piece was not needed to complete the work seen here. Vintage Copper & Cast Iron Washing Machine Architectural Salvage
For your consideration. A vintage washing machine. Made with a copper barrel tub, with cast iron supports. Presently sitting uneven on a dolly. It has a motor plus a plug. It appears to be complete, except for one of the double casters is missing on one of the legs. The inside in empty, it has a built in inverted v across the bottom. Frame stands 36" high. not including the pipe at the side which I believe is an adjustment for the machine, would be 39" Frame is 23" deep and 28" wide. Copper barrel is 22" high, 21" deep, has a flat top with two handles. Weighs about 125 lbs. An interesting piece. Sure someone creative could find a great way to display this. Antique Oceania Batak Wood Carving-- Singa-- Architectural Salvage-Discount!
Traditional Toba Batak houses are boat-shaped with intricately carved gables and upsweeping roof ridges. This is an antique architectural decoration that is used above a doorway to a traditional house. Even though it was under the eves you can still see signs of water and wind erosion. Still retains some of the original paint! The SINGA i s described as"part human. Part water buffalo, and part crocodile or lizard" It i s a magical emblem that represents benevolent and protective power. It is a traditional symbol in Batak culture and tradition. Most Batak now live in modern homes. And many traditional houses are abandoned or in a poor state of repair, or have been demolished completely. They are not being made anymore. I love the wonderful and unique abstractness of it. 11' x 34" x 2" With the heavy custom metal stand ... moreit is 21" high. The stand costs more that $200 to make and is very heavy. I don't know how much it will cost to ship but the buyer will pay actual shipping cost. I don't expect it will be more than $40-$50 via UPS ground. It looks great just hung above a doorway!
