It is very dimensional and super decorative. The shape is wonderful. But there are a few surface splinters where it was detached from its original location. These are mostly on the back side, so they are not very noticeable viewed from the front. There are no other cracks or breaks. It measures about 16-1/4” wide x 5" height x 1-3/4” depth with a weight of 10 ounces. There are no marks on this piece. So I have no idea of the maker or origins. Thanks for looking. Description This is a nice newel post that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Home. It is made of oak and was painted but has been stripped. The top of the post has carved flowers on three sides with nice Victorian details below. The shaft has Eastlake Spoon Carvings on three sides. There is a flower pot with vines and flowers. There is a cut out for the step at the bottom but is freestanding. The total measurements are 46.25 inches tall by 7.75 inches square at the base and 6 inches square at the shaft. Overall it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. It needs a final finish sanding and it needs a finial. For sale: This is an antique newel post stair baluster from the Victorian era. It stands 39" tall. Has a cannonball top 5.5" in diameter, and I believe it is made of oak. It has a cracked and chipped patina and is a sand over white. Although the cannonball top has a crack it is still very solid. One side has nail holes from its original installation.see photos. The square bottom measures 6" x 6" It is solid and heavy, weighing almost 22 pounds. This was in my Father's collection of many. Many things all stored in the attic and barn. Antique Carved Wood corner Corbel architectural furniture salvage trim
This beautifully carved corner corbel probably came off of a piece of antique furniture or possibly out of an ornately decorated room. It could be repurposed and added to a piece of furniture. Added to a shelf or displayed in many other ways. It is essentially symmetrical except for the different style of flowers located near the base. The wood cylinder at the top looks like it was added just with glue and could probably be removed relatively easily. It is notched for the step but freestanding. It weighs about 60 pounds. It measures 61 inches tall and is 8 inches square at the shaft and 9 square a the base. Overall. It is in good condition. We are pleased to offer this lovely. Salvaged, 2 panel wrought iron door or gate. This piece set is vintage and dates to the mid century. It features an ornate, grille inset in a scrolled design. The frame is has a matte black finish. It is in good condition with some minor rusted spots and a general, aged patina. There are pre-drilled mounting holes with one original bolt. The bottom section on one of the panels is corroded but can be cleaned. This is a beautiful vintage piece with tremendous character. Because the panels are hollow(except for the scrolled insets) they are not overly heavy and are easy to handle. We have matching piece(single door/gate) to this set in a separate listing.
