Even though Switzerland wanted to remain neutral Supplying the US with vital items such as these movements seemed to be no problem for them. This chronograph seems to run very strong. The up/down indicater works properly. It sits in its original 6" x 6" wood box. there is no key to the box) The s/n of the movement is 6411710 and from what I can determine this puts it at approx. 1942. There are 3 condition issues that I know of. 1) The sweep second hand looks to be repaired You may be able to see in the pics that about half-way it looks like it was rejoined where it may have been broken, I am unsure exactly what may be the case as this is the way it was when I acquired it. 2) the thing that holds the box top from falling back needs to be re installed, there is 1 screw missing and the brass plate needs to be flattened out. 3) the movement cover on the bottom side which is the weight that makes it gimbal properly is missing. And of course the missing key which I already mentioned. So with the downsides out of the way lets review the positive, Rare! Movement looks great and runs great! Power indicater works correctly! Just found a nice Seth Thomas antique mantel clock in great condition. I would date this from the 1930s 1940s. The wood is in very nice shape. Looks like dark walnut. No dents or scratches at all. Antique 1908 Antique Sessions 6 'Stone' Columns Mantle Clock- Restored
Item Description: Here is your opportunity to own a beautifully restored antique Sessions mantle or shelf clock. I have personally restored this great clock. So that it both looks wonderful and runs very reliably. When I did the restoration, one of the things I did special was to make the 6 columns look as if they are made from Granite, and you'll not find many clocks that look as if their columns are real stone, as this one does! I also applied new 14k Gold gilding to all the feet and column headers and footers. The dial is in excellent condition, as is the glass and the glass bezel. The 8 day movement inside has been gone thru, and now works very well! It strikes a single bell tone on the half hour, and at the top of the hour it has a deep gong that counts out what hour it is. It comes totally complete, including pendulum bob and winding ... morekey. The case is black ebonizied wood. With a high gloss shine to it. It does have a couple of dents that have been acquired over the last century of usage, but all in all, no cracks in the case, and no lifting of the finish at all. The small dents in the case are few, and add to the authenticity of a real antique clock, so there is no doubt about the possibility of this being a reproduction. It measures 15 1/2 inches wide, by 11 inches tall, by 6 inches deep. It is a very stunning clock to display in your home, and the starting price is extremely fair! this is a very nice vintage clock. Look like made in Prussia around 18 century but not sure it is very ornate. Looks nice, it is old Prussia design if you look Eagles heads the clock is very ornate. Made in bronze, with many pieces of marble, the bronze cherubs with goat-legs are very nice, see the pictures, Clock original mechanism is missing. It is listed in the book“ANSONIA CLOCKS AND WATCHES” by Tran Duy Ly and is named“LA VERGUE” It is a very classy, beautiful and precious mantle clock in need of a warm loving home. It has a classic design with rich bright colors and the original thick bevel glass on the door. It has a signed"Ansonia, made in USA" 8 day time and strike movement which chimes on the half-hour and counts the hours on the hour with a cathedral gong with a very precious sound that is very pleasant! The movement runs very well and keeps good time. The movement was just cleaned. Oiled, ... morepivots polished and bushings added where needed. This clock will not need servicing for many years to come. And is ready for the next 100 years! This is a labor intensive service, with many clockmakers charging 250.00 and up. Just acquired out of a wonderful private Midwest estate. We are able to offer this late 1800's era, VERY IMPRESSIVE" ~ VICTORIAN FRENCH FIGURAL SPELTER STATUE CLOCK ~. This would have been a fairly expensive clock to purchase back in the 1880's era and not many could afford such a fine luxury. We do not often see clocks that are as fancy and high end as this one. This is a fairly large clock measuring almost 24 inches tall by 10 inches wide by 9 inches deep. It has a beautiful natural onyx marble base and the entire clock weighs an amazing 31 pounds. The spelter statue is signed Aug. MOREAU, a very well known French sculptor. The clock is running, and has only been tested for a short time, and I would certainly imagine it could use a good cleaning and servicing because it has been tucked away for a very long time in the estate. ... moreThe over all condition is pretty decent with a few things that need to be mentioned. The top spelter has separated from the base and simply needs to be placed back on with a strong adhesive. It actually just sits fine and looks good with the stature just placed on the base" it fits perfectly and is quite sturdy and secure" The good news is that the clock will be easier and much safer to ship this way, so we did not attatch it back to the base. The spelter statue itself is in nice condition with no damage or repairs. I also see a chip on the porcelain dial as well as some expected hairline cracks- see picture. This gorgeous clock and garniture of vases was purchased many years ago in a Parisian antique market. The body of the pieces have been made from stoneware. The surfaces have been treated with the most wonderful splatter lustre glaze in deep rich blue, orange and olive tones and accented with gilding. The clock has a octagonal shaped body sitting securely on a plinth with scrolled supports. The clock face has a rippled satin face and is marked'MADE IN FRANCE' The clock is original it may be possible to fix it rather than replace it. The garnitures have geometric designed bodies that are sat on plinths with shallow dishes raised on pedestals. The dishes are supported by scrolls. Seth Thomas Ships Clock with External Dual Ringer Bell Pat Nov 1879. Patent Nov 1879. Clock has a wood back that looks original, It is also mounted on a piece of plywood for handling, it easily detaches from the plwood. Clock is 6 1/4" in dia. By 3 1/4" high, Bell is 3 1/4" in dia by 1 1/8" high. This is a Brass Clock and Bell. The clock had a silvery plating which s mostly worn off. The face of the clock had the same silvery plating which is somewhat worn from the manually turning of the hands over the years. The clock comes with a key for winding the clock spring and the seperate bell spring. The springs wind counterclockwise. THe glass cover for the face of the clock twists counterclockwise for removal. This allows access to wind the clock. There are also two levers on the face, one for manually testing the bell. move ... morethe lever the bell rings. the other I think is for setting how often the bell rings or for silencing the bell, I am not sure. The seconds hand moves and you hear an audble tick when the clock is working. The clock keeps time within about 15 to 20 minutes when working. There are 6 small screws to remove the clock from the wood backing to view the movement inside. The movement is all brass and looks clean. It could probably use some lube to maybe keep better time. I managed to get the clock working after winding it counterclockwise by giving it a quick snap of the wrist. Counter clockwise and back clockwise while holding it vertically and clock face facing me. Early 1900's Seth Thomas Clock. The Beehive was a popular product in the 1918's or so. The case has been refinished to factory standards. The movement is an 89 ST cleaned and oiled. Mainsprings are in good condition and greased. Gongs on the hour to represent the time and once on the half hour. The dial is in"A- condition the doors open and close as they should. Back door is tricky and not perfect, it does open and close tightly. Brass feet have been polished as is all brass on the item, hinges, screws bezel, etc. I have tried to make this clock as close to factory as possible. The clock as a whole will show its age here and there, it will be up to you to find it, cosmetically it is"A" ST made fine products, they are still working after nearly 100 years. Listing is for an Ingraham“Raven” Mantle Clock. The case finish is original and has been conserved with numerous coats of hand applied high gloss polyurethane. The movement has been dismantled and cleaned by hand. Movement oiled with high quality German clock oil. Main springs lubricated with high quality Swiss main spring grease, Loose screw/nail holes have been pegged to tighten them. Loose case fittings have been glued with hide glue(the original type of glue used on these case) This glue expands and contracts without cracking or loosening. Pivots have been polished. Pivot holes have been inspected and rebushed as needed. Hour and half hour strike adjusted. The dial. Bezel glass, back and back door are not original to the clock. Clock regulated. Clicks. Click springs and click rivets tight and functional. Main springs clean. Strong and ... morefree of rust/corrosion. The clock strikes the 1/2 hour and the hours on a beautiful-deep sounding coil gong. The clock WILL HAVE TO BE REGULATED after shipping. Gorgeous antique Waterbury mantel clock with an ornate gilded cast iron case.Sitting at the top the clock is a cherub with a butterfly perched on one hand. The clock has a porcelain face and beveled glass crystal. Below the face is a glass panel decorated with a pair of cherubs. It is approx. 11" tall and 6 1/2" across the widest point. The back lists 4 patent dates. Ranging from May 1890 to January 1891. Clock does not run, and is sold"as is" for restoration or parts. The gilding shows wear in some spots more than others. Up for auction is a"LUX" ANIMATED ALARM CLOCK. I believe it was made in the 1930's. I remember it as a child. And I am 71 years old. It just turned up while cleaning up the attic. It is 5 inches high, and 5 inches wide. The dial depicts a man and a woman sitting in the living room. The woman is spinning yarn. The wheel of the spinning wheel rotates as the clock runs. It works just fine, as does the alarm. As no work has been done to it in probably 50 years, if ever, It should be looked over by a competent clock repair person. Right now everything works perfectly. The dial is marked, THE LUX CLOCK MANUFACTURING CO. WATERBURY CONN. U.S.A. The red paint on the base, and the frame around the dial has worn off. No other problems. NO RESERVE. Antique Copper mechanical clock timer -BEAUTIFUL, RARE and it WORKS!!
For your consideration is this beautiful and extremely rare Copper. Brass and wood mechanical timer. It's a 3 and 6 minute timer from a bygone era and I cannot find any history or information on it at all. There is no manufactures or identifying marks other than 2 crossed arrows on the dial face. The wood base appears to have been added to the piece many, many years ago but I am uncertain about that and it may be original. It was purchased at an estate sale and appears to have been recently cleaned(copper appears to have been polished and the wood although original appears to have been cleaned up also) The dial face is off white and divided into 6 one minute segments and each one minute segment is broken down into 5 second segments. The face is surrounded by a brass bezel as are the levers that control the action. And it still works! ... moreWhen the right-hand lever is pulled down the timer resets to 6 minutes and this action also winds the timer. The smaller lever on the top turns on/off the timer and there is a recessed lever on the top towards the back to calibrate the timer. There is a bell behind the mechanism but it only gives a very small ding at the 3 minute and the 6 minute time. This clock worked when it came into the store and I plugged it in. It ran for several days but when I came in last week it had stopped working.
