Made in the second half of the 19th Century(Victorian Era) Beautifully Decorated Hand Painted Front Panel. This also comes with the Original Key. Each color is superb hand painted Viennese enamel work. The panel depicts a young 18th Century noble couple in gallant courtship scene. Upper left shows Cherub holding strand of colorful flowers. Beneath the Cherub is the Artists Signature. NOTE: We could not find another signed piece such as this that was signed. EXTREMELY RARE. Clock face plaque was skillfully painted in the extremely labor intensive process of painted enamel on copper– as each color is fired separately and there is a need for a skill to calculate the final hues of each color after so many firings. But when wound up it took off ticking and striking and after watching it over the last 24 hours, its working just fine(though after all these years in storage, there are no guarantees it will continue to function correctly and recommend a servicing. The hinged brass case measures about 6 7/8" 3 7/8" tall and the dial itself is 5 3/4" across. The case features a brass grated area on the bottom which gives the tone of the bell loudness and crispness. The condition of the totally unrestored clock is surprisingly nice with an even patina to the aged brass and just one small dent on the bottom, evident in the images. The unrestored dial shows an even patina as well and is signed"Seth Thomas Made In USA" The crystal seems very nice and it does come with a key(though probably not the original) Nice interesting vintage nautical piece. BTW, contrary to my normal policy, I'll only ship this item domestically.

Antique Mejia Clock Co 3. Early Meiji Era through World War II(1868-1945) Birth and Growth of the Modern Horological Industry When in 1872 the Meiji Cabinet. In Ordinance No. 453, adopted the solar calendar in place of the lunar calendar then in use in Japan- by which December 3, 1872, became January 1, 1873- it followed naturally that old"Japanese time" system would also come to an end. On the other hand, with technology actively introduced from the West, the foundation for a modern horological industry in Japan was being built. That modern industry began with the manufacturing of wall clocks(called bonbon-dokei) by Kingen-sha. In Azabu, Tokyo, in 1875; followed by Yujiro Nakajo, in Aichi Prefecture, around 1885; and Jisei-sha(which became the Hayashi Tokei Factory) headed by Ichibei Hayashi, in 1887. Wall-clock production occurred ... moremainly in Nagoya, which, since Edo Era, had been a distribution center for timber coming down the Kiso River, and where there were many distinguished carpenters and craftsmen working in wood and metal. Records indicate that Tokuzaburo Ohno. Leading apprentice of Norichika Ohno, made by hand the movement and case for a pocket watch in 1879. In 1894, the Osaka Tokei Manufacturing Company, using production equipment obtained from a U.S. firm and under the guidance of an American engineer, began making pocket watches with lever escapements- some several hundred units a month. Other factories to produce wall clocks, table clocks, alarm clocks and pocket watches soon sprang up. By the end of the Meiji Era, there were more than twenty factories throughout Japan turning out about 3.8 million timepieces annually. Although the industry at that time was typically handicraft manufacturing(in contrast to the mass production systems already established in the United States) technical skills improved and would serve as a driving force in future development. This is a GREAT CONDITION HIGH QUALITY example of a New Haven Banjo Wall Clock in wonderful near all original condition. It is a very classy wall clock in need of a warm loving home. It was made circa 1926 and is called Whitney. It has a New Haven Clock Co High Quality and heavy duty 8 day time only movement. The movement runs very well and keeps good time. The case is solid mahogany with its beautiful original finish– the bottom tablet is original and in superior condition! The throat tablet is wavy and original. Has been touched up to match the bottom tablet. This clock has not been worked very much as the screws and screw holes for the movement and all other accessories are original and tight. Extremely rare as usually they have lots of flaking or are completely broken or flaked away. The bottom tablet is original. The dial is original ... moreand is signed, also has been touched up to darken the numbers, no doubt they had faded over the years. See picture) The clock winds on the front(with the enclosed key) and it has an adjustment for fast and slow on the heavy pendulum. See picture) The pendulum arm is very long so the clock has a slow steady quiet ticking sound. The pendulum is heavy– making for very good timekeeping. Banjo clocks are uniquely American(was invented in the USA! And this clock has its brass American eagle on top! Runs great! The back of the clock is original with the original paper label! The clock is large and measures 33 inches high, 4 ½ inches deep and 10 inches wide. The name of this clock is“WHITNEY” These antique clocks amaze me- could you imagine any other consumer product still working after over 80 years! Antique Vienna Spring Regulator Wall Clock, Fresh from the Attic
Fresh from the attic. But uspoiled is a nice large Austrian or German Vienna Spring Regulator. Clock is unmarked as to maker, but does have a serial number. 8 or 15 day time and strike. Fine brass movement with heavy plates. Dial is porcelain with no defects that I can see. Hands look original. Brass pendulum is the gridiron type with a star decoration. It hangs from the back of the case. The case is a sort of Greek revival style, the usual walnut veneer over softwood. The clock once had a bottom half-finial, and finials on either side of the bottom. These were not with the clock when I got it, but easily acquired. The key is an old iron key, very likely original to the clock. The only major defect is the missing turned column on the left front of the clock. I'm sure any competent wood worker could turn one up for you. Like I said, the ... moreclock is fresh from the attic and needs sprucing up. It's a bit dirty and I did not try to clean it. The movement hasn't been serviced in decades, and looks dry but not particularly dirty. I tried it, and it ran and struck fine. Of course, I can't guarantee running condition and I suggest getting it serviced, oir at least lubricated before running it. Case measures approximately 36 1/2" long by 14" wide. This is a neat old. Antique clock by Waterbury Clock Company. It was purchased from a recent estate sale. The clock is not running and was left wound too tight. I have both keys, the pendulum. The finish could use a little tlc but I like it the way it is and wound just lightly sand the top and apply a matching finish or just clean it real well. The screws on the back are obviously not original and someone who did not know about clocks obviously tinkered with it. Typically when I have had clocks which were wound too tight. They were easy to free. I did and have not opened the back and will leave that up to the buyer. The clock does not have any visual repairs that I can see other than the screws. Antique Seth Thomas Rosewood Adamantine Strike Chime Clock, Running & Nice
Click Here. Double your traffic. Get Vendio Gallery- Now FREE! This auction is for a nice antique SETH THOMAS adamantine mantle clock which is the ALTO model from 1921. The case is 16 1/4" wide. 9 1/2" tall and 5 1/8" deep. This clock was produced in two different colors and this one is the rosewood shade. The bezel is brass and is clean and polished. The clock has a painted dial. The dial background is white with black Arabic numerals and it says SETH THOMAS above the hands and MADE IN U.S.A. at the bottom under the"6" The movement is a SETH THOMAS#89 movement and it's stamped as such on the lower right of the back plate. It also has the ST logo. This is an 8-day spring-driven mechanical movement that strikes once on the half hour on a cathedral gong mounted in the bottom of the case. Then it strikes the appropriate ... morenumber on the hours. Now as to condition, it's very nice for an old clock like this. The case is nice but does have some minor chips in the adamantine on the corners. The worst is the back left edge of the base and that's about 1/4" Please see the pictures as I've tried to photograph the edges to give you an idea. The dial is nice and not washed out from use or someone trying to clean it improperly like some are. It does have a little bit of soiling mostly around the winding arbor holes(please see pictures) The glass crystal is held in by two brass keepers that are soldered onto the inside of the bezel. One is missing, but the one that's still there seems to hold the glass in with no problem. They're easy to replace. The hands don't match and I'm not sure which is the original so please see the pictures to make your determination. Movement-wise, it's running well and keeping pretty good time. The strike also works well. The movement looks pretty good and doesn't have much wear. Also, it hasn't been abused but could most likely stand a cleaning. Mantle Clock OAK CASED BAROMETER/THERMOMETER/CLOCK. This very nice looking Victorian Barometer/Thermometer/Clock dates back to the late 1800's. There is a presentation plate with 1901.The emamelled dials each have an ornate central filigree roundal the black numerals are printed on the enamel. It has blued hands and the face of the barometer is marked"Made in Paris" The thick bevelled clock glass is original and is retained by a nice brass bezel. The movement is an 8 day, key included, no makers initials. It works well keeping good time. The nicely conditioned Oak clock case has intricantly carved foliage. It is approximately 8 3/4" tall by 15 1/5" long, it is in superb condition. The back door covers have a nice tight fit. Antique 19thc French Empire Gilt Ormolu Mantle by Clock Samuel Marti c1867-89
Freres This is a beautiful Antique French Empire early 19th century gilt ormolu mantle clock with a figural farmer with his plough. The body of the case has various foliage inclding wheat or barley and a windmill. This clock is amazing to display. I wound the clock four days ago and it is runniing just a little fast. I am sure it just needs to be cleaned and adjusted. The porcelain dial with roman numerals is in great shape, I can see no cracks or other damage. This original French 8 day clock has bell striking movement by the renowned Samuel Marti, which strikes the bell fully on the hour and a single strike on the half hour. The movement has the"Medaille de Bronze" mark which dates it to between 1867-89. I do not see any number stamped on the pendulum, therefore I suspect it is a replacement. Brass key included. The case is in ... morenice condition as you can see from the photographs including all ormolu mounts, minimal age wear but would polish up like new I am sure. I have taken a picture from underneath that reveals a replacement nut that secures the figure to the main body. Please note the auction is for the clock and base only and not the dome which is cracked but I will offer the winner it for free although shipping will be more costly. 1969 Rare. Vintage and Antique Budweiser Bar Light and Clock. This is a wonderful deal. For true collectors of rare and vintage barware. Here we have an extremely rare Budweiser‘COLD BEER’ clock and sign. Produced in 1969 by Annheuser Busch. About This sign is pretty large. It measurements are 73.5 in length. 6.5 width and 8.7d inches deep. The frame is constructed of metal and the front fascia is made of plastic. The sign is large and imposing; on the left hand side is the classic Budweiser‘Bow Tie’ logo, on the left, the clock. The Sign The sign is in great shape. There is a little fading on the back(see the pictures) but other than that is clean and polished. The plastic has not faded at all and is still bright and fresh. The electrical cord is original and flawless. There are two. Original hanging‘L’ hinges attached to the top. Of the ... moreother one or two of these signs that I have seen. This is the only one with the original hinges still on top. The sign would be phenomenal in your poolroom. Man cave or your bar. Even on top of your fridge. If you really want to impress. This sign is extremely rare(after hours of internet research I have found 3 in the world) and I think(although I cannot be sure) that only a 1000 were made and sent to the top 1000 best selling Budweiser bars in the country. It really is a beauty. Manufacture The sign was constructed in 1969. By Annheuser Busch, Inc of St Lous, Missouri. This listing is for an antique Gilbert 1807 mantel clock. It seems to work fine but I'm uncertain if it will need servicing. Beautiful Normandy chimes. It chimes when it should. Comes with 2 keys. Measures 21" long x 5" wide x 9.5" H. The inside door has the operating instructions. I'm unsure of the age but I've read other web material that places this clock in the 1880's. Made in Winsted. CT. While there aren't any deep gauges or abuse. The body shows some signs of age and you might want to refinish it.

Fabulous 22"ANTIQUE Dragon WATERBURY Gingerbread SHELF MANTLE CLOCK Pressed Face
This truly is a gorgeous clock! The gingerbread has its original patina and the design on the door is still very nice. And features a little dragon in the lower left corner of the glass! It looks to be complete. With one well-done repair to a side panel, and maybe a missing reinforcement from underneath the base, looks like something was glued on there at one time. The case was somewhat loose, so before I refastened it I popped the back off and took a photo of the mechanism. You will want to service the clock; it is wound tight but doesn't run. The wire the pendulum fastens to seems a little strange to me, maybe I just don't know the right way to hang it there but it looks like the right pendulum to me. Antique New Haven School Regulator Wall Clock
Here we have an Old Antique New Haven School House Regulator Clock. It measures 21” tall by 15” wide. The clock dial measures 11” in diameter. The clock is made of oak. The little wood block on the backside(used to lock the door shut) is a replacement otherwise everything looks to be original including the paper label on the back. The clock will run for about a day or two then stop so I am selling it as is. Overall physical condition is great(very nice looking) The clock comes complete with winding key and pendulum. This is an Antique German XL Hand Painted Wood Movement Wall Clock from the mid to late 1800's This clock is a beautiful antique and very rare to find one. This clock is made of solid wood and has great detail in the hand painted face of the clock. This is a wood movement with brass gears. The clock comes with it's pendulum and its 2 heavy brass weights. This is an 30 hour clock. The clock tick's and tock's and gongs like it should. The clock gongs on the hour and on the half hour. The pendulum is 36 inches long and the bob is 3 inches in diameter. The clocks measurements are 16 inches tall from it's tallest peaks and 12 inches wide from it's widest peaks and 5 inches deep. This is a rare. Turn of the century Seth Thomas Quarter hour strike mantle clock in beautiful condition as seen in the pictures. It features a wonderful 8-day Time and Strike 89-L Movement, which chimes on every quarter hour and counts the hours on the hour. The first 15 minutes the clock strikes each chime rod once, then each rod twice at the half hour, and then each rod 3 times at the ¾ hour and it strikes the hours on the hour on one rod. The clock sounds great with the original hammers and long chime rods. This gorgeous antique clock has the original clock instructions affixed on the back door. This clock comes from a family estate with no history as to its acquisition. The clock was manufactured by the Douglas Clock Co. and has the Birmingham- 925- 1905 hallmarks. Douglas Clock Co. made dresser sets amongst other pieces. It runs and has a key attached to it. We have left the clock exactly as found leaving the ribbon and key in place. You can see the surface dings which are obviously accentuated due to the enlarged photos and bright lighting. It displays nicely from a normal viewing distance and in room light. I did not take the back off as the set screws are so tiny I didn't want to risk stripping anything. The time set works normally and it winds smoothly. I wound it a couple of times and gave it a little shake. It started right up. Sounds good and all of the hands appear to work properly. Upon the base color. There is a painting with heavy bronze and floral art. The painting is most likely a hand painting but its only my guess. The sides of the vase-clock has magnificent lion heads made of bronze. They also serve as handles. The top- floral looking spear. And the base, are made of bronze as well. There is also an ornamented bronze around the dial. The dial(number sheet) is ceramic with no damages. It has a glass windowpane and opens for wounding. Glass does not have cracks or scratches(there is no glass on pictures as it has been packed already) There is a door on the back of the vase-clock to hang up the pendulum. The movement is in semi-working conditions and I believe it needs just a simple tune up. Explanation: The clock has not been wounded for over 3 years. It worked fine the last time I checked it but now. Upon a recent check up, I discovered that the pendulum stops after a short time. As a layman, I can only think of a bit rusted mechanism but I dont want to mess it up but handling inappropriately. My guess is that in any case, it would most likely need a tune up after the shipment. The clock is in great conditions but please remember. It is antique, so it does have custom traces. Such a sweet little collectible. Highly detailed carved wood composite face features branches. Birds, flowers, oak leaves and acorns. Then there's the most charming part of this clock: The metal bluebird rocks back and forth with the time…each time she moves to the right, she is"feeding" the three little baby birds in the nest, no kidding this is absolutely adorable. I'm not positive of the age of this piece, but according to the patent pending numbers, I believe it to be from the 1920s. The clock is is excellent for age…no chips or cracks to the wood…it could use a cleaning oil and servicing. It has a problem in that about every 3 or 4 days the hour hand will stick in one place. Antique Ingraham Kitchen Mantle Clock– Runs. 8 Day Time/Strike Up for sale this week is an Ingraham 8 day time and strike clock with beautiful oak case. It keeps excellent time and chimes the hours and half-hour on a coil gong. Everything looks to be original except the dial and the key. The case has not been refinished to the best of my knowledge and this clock has the Ingraham logo on the movement and the gong base. There is a label on the back. But I am unable to read it. The case measures 22 x 14 ½ x 5 inches. The movement has a patent date of Nov 11. 79. This clock was part of an estate auction and is in very good condition. Very fin e& important antique Georgian grandfather 8 day tall/long case clock. The most amazing carved case& silvered brass dial with moon phase roller. The clock dating circa 1 760 signed Scholfield Rochdale( 1730-1792) Important investment/museum quality grandfather clock. This is a highly important clock of the finest quality. The hood having twin'swans' neck pediments with applied brass roundels and three flame& urn shaped f inials. The hood door flanked with'barley' twist columns and enclosing a silvered& engraved brass dial. With both calendar dial and also a beautifully painted moon phase dial. The dial is skillfully engraved with game birds and below a shepherd with sheep and his dog. The ebonized case is sumptuously carved with oak leaves& acorns and a gentleman's head to the center with fruiting ... morevines to the base. The clock has an eight day movement& str ikes the hours with a subtle mell ow sounding bell& keeps great time. This clock is in amazing condition and has just been professionally cleaned& overhauled by a qualified horologist. S ize is; 89" tall x 20" wide x 10" deep. Beautiful Antique SESSIONS Mantle Clock w/Key& Pendulum Weight Marked"S" Beautifully crafted vintage. Circa 1960s, Sessions mantle clock. Has not run in years and probably needs a good cleaning; springs are intact/not broken and it's wound but not running, the clock face has some light wear and someone marked on either side of the 12 with an F and an S(to indicate which way to wind for fast/slow we presume) Some surface wear/nicks/scratches, the medallion on one side is missing a piece, otherwise as seen in images which we encourage you to review carefully before bidding as we consider them part of our description/condition assessment and also ask any questions you have before bidding and well enough in advance of auction end to allow adequate time for response.
