about 5 1/2" tall. 4 1/4" wide and the screw hole is about 1/2" i'm not sure if it went to a clock or a lamp or maybe acted as a handle of some sort. obviously it has age. i dont see why it wouldn't clean up well but i do not like to clean items like this because some people prefer the original condition. likewise, if you intend to clean it. that is on you. i'm not saying you can or should clean it so if you need to take it to a professional to get it cleaned, dont expect me to pay for that. while i'm open to offers. It is either quartz or alabaster, regardless, it is really great looking! Really nice condition with some light dings. Mainly on edges. Clock weighs approx 2 1/2 pounds. 5" high by 6 3/8" wide from foot to foot. Approx 2" thick. Clock has been gone through by my expert clock repairman and runs nicely. Clock shows evidence of being polished at some time(thus the white residue in the relief areas) Repolish, or leave it just the way it looks, as it looks good the way it is in my opinion. LARGE HAND-CARVED ARTS & CRAFTS OAK WALL BRACKET ANTIQUE BRACKET CLOCK 19TH C
This is a beautiful.Large oak wall bracket dating from the Arts and Crafts period at the end of the 19th century. The bracket is all hand carved by a skillful maker and has a quirky design of pea pod tendrils set within scroll end panels.The oak has developed into a wonderful rich toffee colour and has a great patina.It would probably have been used originally as a clock bracket but is equally suitable for large vases or pieces of sculpture.The bracket is in excellent original condition with just the brass hanging plates missing.But these are easily obtained and just screw into the wood.Its top shelf measures 40 cms x 20.5 cms and the whole thing is 23 cms deep. I am also listing a similarly carved set of folding book shelves of the same period-take a look. A lovely and very useful Arts and Crafts wall bracket that would grace any collection.

Nye. Was a Mass carpenter, who first tried refining the"porpoise-jaw oil" as it was known, in 1844. By 1865, at the age of 41, he found enough takers for his wonderous oil to move into the whale oil business full time. Nye was nothing if not a showman. E. Schmeckenbecher Antique Cuckoo Clock -- Regula Movement
You are bidding on an early E. Schmeckenbecher. Cuckoo clock, signed and made in West Germany. The works is also stamped Regula. G.M. 1884288 and 1892176.I am guessing that this clock was made in either the early 1950's or possibly even the 1940's. As I said in the previous description, this is the real deal, all made of wood, not one of its plastic cousins as were manufactured later. This is a fully functional cuckoo clock, with the bird signaling the hour with the appropriate number of cuckoos and the music playing and the wheel spinning as the men saw and chop wood. A really delightful piece that is fully functioning though I make no guarantees after shipping as almost always these clocks will need an adjustment or two. For your viewing and bidding pleasure. We present to you this rare and complete, Circa 1880, Alexander Fleig cuckoo clock. This beautiful Gothic cuckoo clock is by Alexander Fleig. Circa 1880. There is not alot of information available about Fleig, and in some books there is a reference to an Andreas Fleig, but we believe it is the same person. Fleig was a movement maker and bought his cases from case-makers in the Black Forest. As you can see. This lovely case is similar to Beha case model# 597, as shown in Justin J. Millers book on page 11 of the Appendices(Beha catalogs) It would have been carved by the same case-maker, probably in Hornberg. Fleig's movements are not usually marked or signed. But the"A" frame, house shape of the back plate is indicative of his working style. This clock also features a'silk suspension' ... morefor the pendulum, a sign of a high quality movement and a high-end clock. This movement was fully serviced in January, 2013 by a Master Clock Maker, who was trained in Furtwangen and is an expert on Black Forest clocks. This all original time-piece is in excellent condition. And runs and operates flawlessly. You will not find a better example of a Fleig cuckoo clock anywhere else in the world. RARE Antique Black Forest University of Texas Longhorn Cuckoo Clock ESTATE, This listing is for a large. Beautiful, working, vintage German cuckoo clock that belonged to my grandfather, H.J. Lutcher Stark of Texas. He not only graduated from the University of Texas in 1910 but was credited with naming the Longhorns. He served on the Board of Regents for 24 years, serving as chairman for 12 years. The diameter of the clock face is 6" As you can tell from the pictures of this rare clock, a longhorn replaced the original stag at the top of the clock. The clock is made of solid wood and has beautiful carving detail. The pendulum has the rounded branch over the leaf. The clock tick-tocks and the cuckoo comes out on the hour and the half-hour. Antique German cuckoo clock in running condition. Movement has been cleaned and oiled and is marked Kalix Hermann Germany. Bellows and tops are newer replacements and sound nice and clear. Gong back has a unusually heavy gong. Which sound deep and loud when cuckoo strikes. Midframe carving is in nice condition, with a repair to the right lower leaf and left lower cross piece has been replaced in the past. Crown is not original too the clock, but matches quiet well, considering i restained it and the midframe. Deep carved pendulum is not original but is of the period matches the clock very well, and regulates the time good. Weights are a matching pair of 100 gram. Ive had this cuckoo running for a few weeks and its keeping good time and striking with a nice cuckoo call and gong chime. Huge Antique German cuckoo clock repaired running gg berger cast plate movement
Antique German cuckoo clock. This clock is a actually a combination of alot of antique and some newer parts. Found this case. With the large articulated bird and the movement at a clock repairmans estate. Clock Movement was a bit dirty, but cleaned up nice, oiled and running great, marked GG Berger Germany. Chains are from another older cuckoo, and mesh with this cast plate movement with no hiccups. A pair of newer 1000 gram weights drive the time and strike. Cuckoo bird was in case with door and bird rod present. Bird mech. is remote from the movment But i adapted to the large antique movement. Bellows and bellow tops are newer, and sound deep loud and clear. Gong back is piece of pine i fabricated and stained. I attached an period correct large gong. When clock strikes you can hear it in almost all the rooms of the house. Nice frankenstein antique cuckoo project that i had a blast doin. Great result with a great sound and look. Old Antique Intricately Carved Wood Skeleton Clock Case Artist Signed Cherubs
From estate. Most unusual. Tall at about 10 1/2 inches to highest point. About 9 inches wide at widest points. Condition is hard to describe. The only really artistically noticeable condition issue is the cherub front left is missing a leg. There are occasional cracks and wear in what I call the veneer as photographed. The piece that is separately photographed came loose from front center top just above a hook. There are two holes back center presumably to allow handles to wind both time and chimes. The base bottom has a few small screws seemingly to attach the small feet. I do not know if they are original or not. The item is artist signed as photographed on bottom back rim. But I cannot make it out. I would think that the item is more likely European than American. I guess you would call it Victorian. Because there are no winding holes I am guessing this is for a weight driven clock but do not know for certain. The face has a shiny covering like a polyurethane of some sort. The wood backing looks extremely old. I would also guess this is foreign perhaps Asian as I am not used to seeing shiny coverings on American Dials. The wood frame is beautifully embossed or chiseled with 8 Mother of Pearl Plugs as can be seen in the photos. It measures just under 13" across. This is probably one of the most unusual clocks I have seen. It was advertising of some kind. I think insurance maybe. I can't make out the first work or two. Of Valued Business Favors" is on top line with a word or 2 preceding it. Under that is"Prompt Settlements" The 2" brass clock was set in the middle of a 6" slab o tree trunk. Then there is a 1 3/4" round peg that must have fit in another piece to make it stand. There is no maker name. This is really unusual and I'd like to know more about it. Beautiful antique copper alarm clock. The winding mechanism and the alarm bells work great. I've used it as my alarm clock for about the last 10 years! The clock needs to be wound every day.
