AAFA Shenandoah Valley/Southern Sheraton Walnut Dresser Boxes, Circa 1870
What a wonderful testament to the early craftsmanship that made America great. These small hinged-top boxes are made of solid walnut and were constructed around 1870 or earlier. Made and found in Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Although the dovetails appear machine made at first glance. They actually are hand-cut square dovetails. The pair is in very good condition with slight marks at the holes for hanging. Hand-cut kerf marks are visible under the lid and in the interior of the boxes, which are constructed identically. There are a few very old repairs worth mentioning; one is a crack along the backside of one box, and the other is an old repaired crack along the hinge of one. Both seem to have been repaired in the 19th century and do not detract from their beauty form or function. Measuring about 8 inches wide, 5 inches high and about 4.5 ... moreinches deep each. Put one one of these on each side of the bed and leave love notes for each other. And you will be guaranteed a lifetime of happiness together!

18th Century New England Ladderback Armchair New Hampshire Or Massachusetts AAFA
For your consideration is an 18th century ladderback armchair circa 1740-1760. The elephant trunk arms and bold turnings most likely place this chair from either New Hampshire or Massachusetts. There is no restoration. The chair retains an old dark mellow finish and a real rush seat(most likely an old replacement) This chair has not been ended out. Please take note of the bold urn and ball finials and thick stock as well as the exceptional curvature to the arms. This is a strong chair with slightly graduated back splats and turned side and rear stretchers. Seat height is 16 inches. Overall height is 45 1/2 inches. It is 23 1/2 inches wide between the two front posts. Please see photos for details.

Antique 1845 Pennsylvania Coverlet Cosley Signed Fayetteville Franklin Co. AAFA
Early woven coverlet from Fayetteville. Franklin County, Pennsylvannia. Signed on both sides, D. Cosley 1845 and measures 78" wide by 94" long. Acquired from Staley estate in Waynesboro PA. Never seen one this early and in such nice condition. Reasonable offers accepted. Thanks for looking.
Antique Homespun Wool Blanket 19th c. White Blue Stripes AAFA
This is a beautiful blanket! The blue stripes are a true navy and the white is not discolored. Note: the first pictures are the best depiction of the colors. It measures 85.5 inches in length and 68 inches in width. It is two pieces of homespun sewn in the center. This blanket is authentic. I believe these are becoming rather rare in the world of antique linens. It would look great hanging on a quilt rack or folded on the end of a bed(especially in a lake house or cottage bedroom) or even folded on a shelf in a country cupboard. There is also blue stitching along the edge of the blanket. There are very few imperfections; I have included close-ups of most of them. I would say for it's age. This wool blanket is in very good condition. I have another blanket up on eBay- and will combine shipping if you are the highest bidder on both. I try ... moreto describe my items to the best of my ability. All items are sold in as-is condition. Please ask if you have any questions after carefully looking at all the pictures. Note my PayPal payment preference and my turn-around time is 24 hours if payment is received within 24 hours of the sale. Thank you. AAFA means Antique Americana and Folk Art and is used as a short cut to finding items that are true antiques. Not reproductions, and are American. Antique Homespun Wool Blanket 19th c. Blue White Plaid AAFA
This is a beautiful blanket! The blue is a true navy and the white is not discolored. It measures 97 inches in length and 74 inches in width. It is two pieces of homespun sewn in the center. There is one'repair' see picture) and a number of small moth holes. I have included pictures of many of them- to give you an idea. I would say there's about 10 small holes. There are the initials of the woman who made this sewn into the blanket(see picture) This blanket is authentic. I believe these are becoming rather rare in the world of antique linens. Even though there are a number of moth holes. They do not detract from the beauty of this blanket. It would look great hanging on a quilt rack or folded on the end of a bed(especially in a lake house or cottage bedroom) or even folded on a shelf in a country cupboard. I also have another"companion" ... moreblanket up on eBay. They look wonderful together. They came from the same collector. I try to describe my items to the best of my ability. Simply search on AAFA and find all types of American antiques. I will only use the AAFA designation for items which fit the criteria.

FABULOUS WEST VIRGINIA FARMER OLD ANTIQUE BLUE CALICO STIFEL WORKWEAR QUILT AAFA
THIS IS A SWEET OLD ANTIQUE QUILT. MADE FROM SOME OF THE BEST EARLY BLUE CALICO EVER. CHECK OUT THE PICS FOR MORE INFO AND AS PART OF THE DESCRIPTION. MUCH BETTER IN PERSON THAN THE PICS SHOW. IF YOU LOVE OLD BLUES THIS ONE IS A KEEPER. IF YOU ARE A CLOTHING DESIGNER THAT WANTS IT FOR THE PATTERNS THERE ARE MANY TO CHOOSE FROM ON THIS ONE AND THEY ALL LOOK LIKE OLD STIFEL PATTERNS FROM THE FAMOUS COMPANY IN WEST VIRGINIA WHERE I BOUGHT THIS QUILT MANY YEARS AGO AT A FARM ESTATE SALE THERE. WONDERFUL STUFF IN THIS ONE FOR SURE AND A GOOD VARIETY TO CHOOSE FROM. THIS MEASURES ABOUT 70 X 80 AND IS BOTH HAND AND TREADLE SEWN. THE QUILTING IS DEFINITELY ALL HAND DONE. IT IS A SUMMER WEIGHT QUILT WITH VERY LIGHT BATTING AND THE BACK IS ALL OLD MILLED OFF WHITE COTTON. THE PATTERNS OF THE FABRICS ARE WONDERFUL. LOTS OF INDIGO AND CADET BLUES. FADED ... moreCHARM FROM DAYS GONE BY AND SOME WEAR BUT I DEFINITELY WOULD NOT CLASSIFY THIS AS A CUTTER QUILT AND WOULD NEVER HAVE THE HEART TO CUT IT UP ALTHOUGH I'VE ALWAYS BEEN SO CURIOUS TO SEE THE BACKS OF THE FABRIC SQUARES TO SEE HOW MANY STIFEL BOOTS MIGHT BE THERE IF I LOOKED. IF YOU ARE A CLOTHING DESIGNER AND WANT TO DO THAT YOU CAN CUT IT UP BUT I NEVER HAD THE HEART TO DO THAT AND IT IS BEAUTIFUL HANGING ON A WALL IN A ROOM FOR A NICE BLUE STATEMENT. I HAD IT HANGING IN OUR FARMHOUSE PARLOR FOR MANY YEARS AND IT'S GORGEOUS. IT WOULD BE A WONDERFUL STATEMENT IN A CLOTHING SHOP IF YOU HAVE A BLANK WALL OR A SHOWCASE THAT NEEDS A TOUCH OF BLUE. IT'S ALL ORIGINAL AND FULL OF OLD BLUES AS I SAID. SOME OF THE SMALLER SQUARES ARE GOOD OLD INDIGO WITH SOME CHEDDER AND REDS MIXED ABOUT BUT THE MAIN COLORS ARE DEFINITELY BLUE AND WHITE AND THE SOUGHT AFTER PATTERNS. THE FABRIC IS ALL LIGHTWEIGHT SHIRTING COTTON FOR OLD WORK WEAR. I ASSUME MAYBE THE WEST VIRGINIA FARMERS WIFE WHO MADE THIS MIGHT HAVE USED EITHER SCRAPS SHE HAD FROM SEWING OR FROM THE STIFEL FACTORY LEFT OVERS OR SHE TOOK THE OLD CLOTHES AFTER MANY YEARS OF USE FROM HER FAMILY MEMBERS AND MADE THIS TO KEEP TH

EARLY BRIMFIELD ANTIQUE BLACK CALICO LONG PRIMITIVE SLATTED PRAIRIE BONNET AAFA
This originally came from Brimfield many years ago. It is wonderful for your early black calico collection. Check out all the pics. It is perfect for your early reenactment needs or for a museum display. I had it on loan to one for awhile and just got it back. It's gorgeous and an original early one with slats on the brim. Just the best design too with great old black floral antique calico and an early accent fabric on the inside brim where the slats are still in place from years gone by. I don't think it was worn much if at all or maybe it was a mourning bonnet as they sometimes were made from early black calico and had this design. It covers the face very well with a large brim out front and old cardboard slats inside as you see in the pics. It measures about 10 inches from front to back when laying flat and about 17 inches long ... morefrom top to bottom of neck hem. The perfect size for a woman. I think it makes a perfect farm bonnet with an early black prairie dress. I will be listing some of those very soon as I am trying to simplify my collection of early textiles so message me if you are looking for anything special I may just have it tucked away on a peg rack to list next for you. What can you do with this one? The perfect black for you collection on your peg rack or cupboard door or an early ladderback chair. So many possibilities with one small primitive accent. It's just sweet. Add a pumpkin or some bittersweet for Autumn and the Halloween holidays this one fits right in. From a smoke free and pet free home so it is very clean. Normal wear as expected with an old textile. One small moth hole that I found but I don't consider that an apology it just definitely shows the true age of this original sweet find. Check out the pics for more details. Message me with any questions you have prior to buying. Thanks for viewing our weekly sales here on Ebay. Many Blessings!

Antique Folk Art Carved Wooden Painted Bird With Wire Legs AAFA Old
This auction is for a nicely carved Antique Folk Art Painted Wood Bird with Wire Feet and a wall perch. It measures approx. 5.5" from tail to beak and approx. 2.5" from bottom to top of head. Great paint in black. White, blue and brown. Condition is very good. There is minimal paint loss. There are a couple tiny nicks in the wood on the edge of the tail. The beak may be missing a tiny tip piece, although it's hard to tell if there is a piece missing or if that is just paint loss. Probably glass eyes. They were painted blue, but what has the paint mostly missing so it appears to be white glass. Comes with a green v-shaped perch that can be hung on the wall. The wooden dowel rod that would go through the wire feet and into a hole in the perch is missing, but could easily be replaced. The wire feet are sold and intact, but a bit ... morebent up. Just a sweet folky carved bird. c.1940s Thanks for checking out this listing and don't hesitate to ask questions.

ANTIQUE EARLY PRIMITIVE BROWN DOT CALICO BONNET SWEET LIBERTY HOMESTEAD AAFA
This is a wonderful early old original antique brown dot calico bonnet that I am surely going to miss but my son has more college tuition due very soon so I always have great sales when that is coming up. Check out all the pics. One of a kind and a unique find. This sale is for the brown dotted calico prairie bonnet only. The other one can be found in my current listings if you want to take a peek. I bought this from Sweet Liberty Homestead a few years ago. Shannon always had a wonderful collection of old early textiles for sure but this bonnet is a neat old early one of a kind find that I love. The design is fabulous and an early one. If you love prairie primitives this one is a keeper for your collection of early browns and it also goes wonderful with blues. It is all original and as found and a true collectible and one you can still wear ... morefor reenactments or would also be wonderful in a museum display. Not a remake this one is original for sure. Worn in all the right spots with an early repair on one side and it was cleaned and starched with the old kind of fabric preserver that was home made back in the day. It is the perfect size for a woman with a long back and large front that will keep the sun off of your face in the garden. This one has been worn and is still in good shape with many years of life left in it. It is primitive and wonderful for your early cabin collection. This is worn as I said already. Not perfect but not bad at all. Fabric is still very sturdy and it is clean and all original. Hand and treadle sewn. A sweet design from days gone by. Measures about 16 inches long and is about 10 inches from front to back when laying flat if you measure the front brim to the back gathered part. Again this is not perfect but it's all original and as found and as is. If you love old bonnets this one will find the perfect spot on your antique peg rack or chair back. Please message us with any questions you have prior to buying. All sales final and no returns or refunds. Clean and odor free. From a smoke an

1800 RARE AAFA EARLY PAINT ANTIQUE FOLK ART APOTHECARY PIE SAFE CABINET CUPBOARD
RARE AAFA OOAK ANTIQUE FOLK ART PRIMITIVE OLD PUMPKIN PAINT APOTHECARY/ PIE SAFE/ SPICE/ CABINET CUPBOARD* Up for auction is this unique and rare apothecary cabinet/ cupboard. It has what looks to be original old pumpkin paint and fantastic patina! Even the sides of the drawers are painted the pumpkin color. Both sides of the outside of the cabinet have punched out decorative sides that are tin and painted- very different! It may have been a small pie safe with closed up doors and drawers to keep the little fingers from getting in to the pies! It has old. Different sized porcelain knobs that are dirty but are wonderfully old and original. Old paper lines the slide out drawer and there is barely any left. It's warped and worn as well as dirty. There are holes, cracks, paint loss, edge wear, crazing on the paint and more- exactly what you ... morewould expect with a true antique! We love this piece and have never seen anything like it! The top drawer measures 11 3/8" deep x 14 3/4" wide x 3 1/4" high. The slide out doors area is(approximate) 16" wide x 6" high x 12 3/4" deep. The small slide out shelf measures 12 1/4" deep x 12" wide x 1 1/4" high inside. The bottom drawer is 14 3/4" wide x 11" deep x 3 1/4" high inside. The top drawer is SLIGHTLY bigger than the bottom drawer. I love the inconsistency! The top of the cabinet looks like someone put something on top of it that left paint. Wear and slight indentation. The bottom of the cabinet has a board missing as you can see in the pictures but this is not visible when the cabinet is sitting. The bottom two drawers have an old hole on the right side in the front as you can see. This is a fantastic early piece and probably would not be able to find another one like it! The cabinet is a great size and measures approximate 25" high x(almost) 17.5" W x(almost) 13 3/4" deep(not incl. knobs) We're not sure of the age of this cabinet. It looks like all original to us except the knobs/ pulls. It ha

ANTIQUE Reverse Painting Dated 1896 Folk Art 19c AAFA
This is a beautiful reverse painting and mirror. It measures 20.5 inches by 11.25 inches. The painting itself measures 7 inches by 8 inches. On the back side of the mirror it is printed in a oval shape: A. Ramsey& Son Montreal 1896. The colors are still vivid. There are 3 spots where the veneer on the frame has split(with one repair) but it doesn't detract from it's sense of presence. The backing of the mirror is in excellent condition- there are only a few tiny spots where the backing is missing. There is a wooden piece on the back holding the mirror in; it looks original. I try to describe my items to the best of my ability. Please look at all the pictures and ask if you have any questions. Also. Note my PayPal payment preference. All my items are sold in as-is condition. Thank you. AAFA means Antique Americana and Folk Art ... moreand is used as a short cut to finding items that are true antiques. Not reproductions, and are American. Simply search on AAFA and find all types of American antiques. I will only use the AAFA designation for items which fit the criteria.

Nice weathered red cedar wood post, arrow shaft and finial. Copper rivets on the arrowhead and tail. Iron strap ridge pole roof brackets. the iron piece you see hanging at ... morean angle between the arrow and directionals is an iron brace that was used to anchor it. RARE ANTIQUE FOLK ART AAFA LARGE WALL SHELF - HERB / GAME RACK CABINET CUPBOARD
RARE ANTIQUE FOLK ART AAFA LARGE LONG WALL SHELF- HERB/GAME RACK HARD TO FIND CABINET CUPBOARD Up for sale is this very nice long wall shelf. This is not made in China like a lot of other"Primitives" you see on eBay. This is a hard to find. One of a kind wall shelf. It measures 75.5" L x 16.5" H x 7" D. It's a wonderful dark brownish black color- great patina! This wonderful shelf will be the focal point and conversation piece in any room in the house and fits in with most decors. It is absolutely a stunning true antique piece! It has a nice scalloped/ detailed top shelf-bar where you could put some crocks. Wooden bowls or plates and the shelf-bar would keep them from falling off. Then, below the top shelf there's a small shelf, great for all kinds of items. Below that there are 11 wooden pegs/ hooks, great ... morefor hanging up herbs, flowers, wooden spoons, utensils, etc. The top bar has some chips off the ends, probably from being moved about. You'd hardly notice them once it's hung up on the wall. There are some big holes in the back of the shelf both at the wooden pegs area and inside the small shelf area. These were likely used for hanging it on the wall. It is just my opinion but I think this shelf would be gorgeous with painted wood bowls on the top shelf! We're not sure of the exact age of this shelf but it's old and probably late 1800's to early 1900's. It looks like all original. It has some chips. Scratches, edge wear and nicks as is expected for an item of this age. It's a very interesting piece and just the way we like it! Note: This is a long and unusual piece and as such. The shipping companies will be expensive. We have listed FedEx and the cost listed will include our professional packing and insurance. But, if it's less, we will refund the difference. We're very fair on shipping, we just want to make sure it gets to you safely and not lose our shirts on the cost of the shipping. Note that the pictures are part of the sale so please s

19th C. New England Quilt Top Best Fabrics Turkey Red & Blues AAFA
I hesitate to call this great 19th century quilt top a cutter. As there is some small damage to one square in one of the blocks, due to a mouse nibble, that could be easily repaired/replaced, as this is a fantastic looking early textile-could be finished into a very nice quilt, or the blocks could be separated for other uses too! Measures approx. 74" by 89" each block is nice and large at approx. 12" by 12" The border and sashing fabric is in the best turkey red cotton calico with a black design-all very vivid and bright! I see a tiny hole on the red sashing near where the mouse hole on the damaged square is located-could be easily patched or repaired. Sounds so much worse than it is, but trying to mention all, for sake of accuracy! Found right here in Maine, fresh from an attic trunk, this quilt top has never been used ... moreor washed-even has some of the sizing left in the fabrics-feels nice and sturdy. It is beautifully hand-pieced together-all of the fabrics are great 19th century colors and calico patterns(with only the slightest amount of fading on one of the blue pieces of fabric-hard to see, but again, want to mention) Shipping will be $8.00 to include careful packing with insurance. Sold as-is and as-described. Please ask all questions before bidding. Thanks for looking and good luck!
