*** EARLY AAFA ANTIQUE FOLK ART WOOD PULL TOY HORSE HAND PAINTED WITH WAGON ***
ADORABLE EARLY AAFA ANTIQUE PRIMITIVE WOOD TOY HORSE HAND PAINTED WITH WAGON* Up for sale is this adorable little wood toy horse. He is hand carved out of wood and hand painted. His legs were carved with knees in them- so cute! He is a dark patina or dark brown- I think it looks like black paint but could just be a dark brown. Red paint was used for his saddle. Reins and face- Look at this sweet face! He is an early horse in that there is not much detail to him- I love it! The horse measures 6" long x 7 3/4" high x 1 1/2" wide. He does not have a tail and if you look close at his face you will see a little chip of wood off of his forehead. Still- a sweet heart! The wagon did not come with him but I think it looks good with him and so they will be sold together. The wagon is made out of wood and metal and it measures 10" ... morelong x 5 3/4" high x 5 1/4" deep(not sure of the age) It does have paint loss, nicks and scrapes. *** EARLY AAFA ANTIQUE FOLK ART PRIMITIVE WOOD PULL TOY HORSE HAND PAINTED ***
ADORABLE EARLY AAFA ANTIQUE PRIMITIVE PLATFORM WOOD PULL TOY HORSE HAND PAINTED* Up for sale is this adorable little wood pull toy horse. He's a real sweet heart! He is hand carved out of wood and hand painted. Look at this sweet face! His tail looks like it is made out of horse hair. The wheels are all wood- the left rear wheel appears to be slightly different and was replaced years ago- you can barely tell it is different unless you look close. It is possible the original made the horse just this way with a different wheel. Does not detract from the beauty of this horse! He has a fabric saddle with what looks like old tacks(upholstery) and an old nail stuck in to him on one side and an old screw on the other side. A small leather strap goes around the top of the saddle. Old leather strap around the face is barely there and his eyes ... moreand ears are hand carved- no indication there was ever any glass eyes or leather ears. I think he is fabulous- one of a kind- early horse! He does have a scratch on his left side from the saddle to his stomach that is approximately 1 1/4" His feet will come in and out of the wood platform. He is an off white horse with different shades of gray on him(it is possible the paint use to be black) Note: It is rare to find any paint left on these old horses- this is a great piece! He measures 9" long x 8 1/4" high x 2 3/4" wide. This horse is not perfect and does have some nicks. Scrapes, paint missing, fading, markings, etc. but we think he's perfect just the way he is! 1800’S FRENCH COUNTRY PRIMITIVE ANTIQUE MILKING STOOL AMERICAN FOLK ART AAFA
I found this little jewel at a recent estate sale. It is circa 1890’s and measures 13 ½” wide. 7 ¼” deep and 11” high. It is solid pine and is put together completely with dowls. No nails. Rare style of basket. Holds produce and flowers and has a low profile. Again, Handle is wood and has a gripper carved under the top of the handle to make it easier to carry with your hand. It is 21" x 15" wide not counting the handle. Little split in the bottom reed. Any questions. Please e-mail me. Also check out my other auctions on e-bay this week.

ADORABLE EARLY AAFA ANTIQUE FOLK ART WOOD WINDMILL WONDERFULLY HAND PAINTED BUTTER CREAM AND RED* Up for sale is this sweet adorable little folk art windmill! It is made out of wood. There is a bottom base that is three stories high and the sides slope from a wider base to a more narrow top. This was made so that when the wind blows the top structure would rotate into the wind with the windmill spinning. The windmill part is missing(obviously) There's only a bolt sticking out from the top part now. It's made from 5/8" thick wood and little nails. The paint is a sweet hand painted butter cream yellow with red windows. Trim and door. Primitive Antique Pine Wall Hook Rack Coat Rack Hand Forged Iron Hooks AAFA
Primitive Antique Pine Wall Hook Rack Coat Rack Hand Forged Iron Hooks AAFA So. I went to the auction of a lifetime this past weekend. A storage barn of an antiques dealer that passed about 10 years ago. She specialized in early primitives and American folk art and boy-oh-boy you do not want to miss this week. I took photos of the items that I bought for one full day, and still am not finished– but decided to go ahead and list what I have– enjoy! Wow. Is this one cool. It's a very old hand made wall rack- that is hand made, with 7 hand forged iron hooks. The back of the rack I do believe is pine(but I'm not a wood expert, so see what you think) Then, it has the iron hooks inserted into hand made holes- the hooks are bent at the back of the wood to hold them in place- no screws- just the hooks! Because they are bent, they stay inside ... moreof their holes, but they do move around- you can move them left/right because of this way of affixing them- I'm good with that, though, as it's all original and how this wonderful piece was made. The wood back is cut so that it has a simple, decorative border on all sides of the wood, and that's the only decoration- no carving, painting, etc. just the border and the old dark wood finish- that's all it needs! It measures 30 11/16" wide and 6" tall. The hooks vary in depth, but are all about 1 1/2" to 2" deep and around 2 1/4" to 2 1/2" tall. It is in excellent solid and sturdy condition structurally, with looooots of rustic wear from age and use. There's wear to the wood and finish all over, especially on the edges where the finish is worn, and a lot more on the back than the front. There's scratches, scrapes, nicks, dings, small cracks that do not move when pushed. There's a wood point on the edge that's missing- right over the hook that is second from the right. Then, the point on the bottom to the right of the second hook from the left has a chip on the top edge- but it's not missing the point(get it? please s
Antique Vintage Stable Sign Weathervane Horse Americana Folk Art AAFA NR Amish
Absolutely charming antique/vintage primitive stable sign. Found this in the Indiana Amish Mennonite area. Vintage homemade sign from two old horseshoes and an antique tin weathervane horse. Mounted on a 28" by 23' old walnut board. This probably hung over the horse area on a primitive farm. Some minor separation of the weathervane horse halves but in no way deters from the charm of the sign. Just a great piece of Americana Folk Art and this will look great on your wall as well as hanging over your horse stable! Starting the bid at $9.99 with NO RESERVE. Don't be sorry after the auction. Rustic Early Primitive Antique Redware Pottery Jug With Handle & Lid AAFA
Rustic Early Primitive Antique Redware Pottery Jug With Handle& Lid AAFA So. There were some fabulous very old pottery pieces at the auction. I don't often sell pottery. So don't know a lot about it, but hopefully, I got the best pieces for my customers! I fell in love with this rustic old redware piece. Note I used rustic as the first work in my title too- because that's exactly what this one is. It's a side handled jug that has a lid, and oh boy does it ... morehave a story to tell. I'm not an expert, but I'm fairly certain that it is red clay- I can see peeks of what looks like red clay, but I also see lots of brown/grey- like on the bottom of the piece, so please supersize and see what you think. The jug measures 7 1/2" tall to the top of the lid, 6 1/8" tall to the side of the jug. It is 4 7/8" wide from the outside of the handle to the outside of the mouth of the jug. The jug is 3 1/2" diameter at the mouth, 4 1/2" widest at the center, and 3 1/8" diameter at the bottom. It's pretty hefty for its size, at just under 2 lbs. You may have some difficulty seeing in my photos, but you can see one decorative turned line just below the rim, and then another at the top of where the wide part starts at the body of the jug. The lid hangs over the mouth of the jug about 1/4" all the way around- but also has a raised area on the inside of the lid that is meant to go down into the jug a little. At first, seeing that the lid did't meet right at the side of the jub, I wondered if maybe it was not original to the jug, but it clearly looks so much like the jug- in material, patina, wear- I do think

Early Primitive Antique Tinsmith Made 5 Candle Holder Wall Sconce AAFA
Early Primitive Antique Tinsmith Made 5 Candle Holder Wall Sconce AAFA So. Here's another fabulous old tinsmith hand mad item- and how unique it is! It's a 5 candle holder wall sconce- made to hang on the wall and hold 5 tapered sized candles- the wells measure 7/8" diameter on the inside. So you know what size candle you'd need. It's a very simple utilitarian design- a round tin"dish" for lack of a better word with raised edges, 5 candle walls, ... moreand a back mount that comes up on one side, with a support bar underneath that keeps it stable and the dish straight. It's in excellent solid and sturdy condition structurally and will hang well. The dish measures 8 3/16" diameter and the raised edges are 3/4" high. The mounting arm is 2 1/8" wide at the bottom, 1 1/4" wide at the top and stands 5 3/4" tall. It's made to be able to slip onto a screw on the wall- with a round circle at the bottom of the mounting hole for slipping over the screw head, and a shorter oval shaped opening above that for slipping down over the neck of the screw to secure on the wall. In photo 6, and in subsequent photos after, you can see a D on the bottom of the dish. That was written in the dust by my finger and will clean off, I guarantee you. These items are soso dusty from being in storage for so long, and so many of my items look like they have a white haze on them, when it's really dust, that I decided to start putting a D to show my customers that it's dust. Speaking of which, I do not clean or mess with(other than my D, now) as found patina in any way- it needs a reeeeeally good bath, but it will clean

Antique Tin Cone Lantern Herb Dryer ? Forged Iron Hooks Candelabra AAFA WhatsIT?
Antique Tin Cone Lantern? Hanger w/ Forged Iron Hooks Candelabra AAFA WhatsIT? So. O.K. Ya got me on this one- I have no idea what it is, have never seen one, and can't find another like it. Any help from you kind ebayers out there would be greatly appreciated. I can't help but thinking that it has something to do with candles- whether it's a candelabra, for making candles or? I don't know. I guess you could spear candles on the hooks to make a candelabra- but ... morethe wax would drip straight down with no drip wells. I also wondered if it might be a hearthware piece- but it's all tin, not iron, so I'm guessing no. Maybe it's just a way to hang your fabulous primitive utensil collection- it will be yours to decide. It's very old, that's for sure, and it's hand made. The body is a tin cone shape and it has a round loop handle at the top that is very similar to the handles found on the punched tin candle lanterns. It then has 6 forged iron hooks that are thin and get a little thicker at their ends. There's two levels of three, and the hooks are placed so they are not directly over the corresponding one on top/bottom. From the top of the hanging loop to the bottom of the cone, it measures 13 3/4" and the cone shape alone is 11 1/8" tall. The cone is hollow, and it's 3/4" diameter at the top and 2 1/4" diameter at the bottom. The body of the cone has a black finish that appears old, and has a little gloss/shine to it(not a lot- and not in all spots, it depends upon the wear) The hanging hook as well as the fluted round piece underneath it are also black, but there's sooooo much dust and g

Early Primitive Antique Bird Cookie Cutter Mold Press Hand Carved Wood Tin AAFA
So. One of the show stoppers of the auction for me were four very early cookie cutter/cookie molds/presses- I had to get all four of them. I'm listing them separately. So be sure to check out my other ones too. All are hand made- a wood center that is inset on one side for the cutting and flush with(if not a little farther out) the sides on the other side- with carvings to use for a press. The outside of the cutter is tin, and it has both small nails as well as what I believe ... moreare brass tacks inserted through the tin and into the wood, keeping the tin in place, as well as each one has at least one spot that has been soldered that I can see. This cutter is made in the image of a bird, and it is the largest one. This piece measures 4 1/2" wide beak to tail, 1" thick at the sides, and on the cutter side, the wood is inset about 1/4" It weighs a smidge over 2 ounces. It's in excellent solid and sturdy structural condition, with lots of rustic wear to the wood- scratches, scrapes, nicks, dings, cracks that do not move(I see one on the bird's head) shallow divots, light spots and dark spots(lots of them on this one- especially on the wood around the perimeter of the tin) the patina is dark and gorgeous. The patina on the tin is darkdarkdark, and you can see spots of surface rust. This one has the most amount of rust of all, with some spots that are a little thicker, but- they are surface only, dark, old and with no eat throughs or sharp edges. You can also see light shallow dings and small edge nicks to the tin, with some edges waving just a smidge this way and that. I just can't say enough about this one- I think it's th

Early Primitive Antique Folk Hand Carved Wood Swivel Wall Hook Forged Iron AAFA
Early Primitive Antique Folk Hand Carved Wood Swivel Wall Hook Forged Iron AAFA So. Love this one. It's very old. It's hand made, and I really don't think that my photos do it justice. It is a hand made wood wall hook with hand carved details on the backplate as well as the end of the hook. The piece is two pieces of solid wood that I believe are oak- it's hard to tell for sure because the patina is so dark, so please look at the grain in my photos and see what ... moreyou think. The two are attached with an iron U shaped bracket, and there is a pin on either side of the back side of the hook to allow it to swivel. When you look really closely, you can see that the hardware is forged iron- U bracket and pins- this one was totally hand made, and it's quite old. The backplate has two small holes for mounting on the wall and it measures 5 3/3" tall by 7/8" wide. The piece is 13 1/2" long from the back of the backplate to the very front of the hook and at the body, the hook is 5/8" by 5/8" and is 5/8" by 1" tall at the end. Check out how there's a"hook" that is carved into the end of the arm- an angled up part to keep your items well secure on the arm. It weighs just over 1/4 lb all together and is in excellent solid and sturdy condition- totally usable and strong. The swivel action works great and the piece is surprisinly strong for it's age and inteneded use. There's minor finish wear to spots all over- most seen at the backplate around where the screws used to be. I just can't say enough about his one- I don't think that my photos do it justice, and you have to hold it to se

CHARMING AMERICAN REDWARE FLOWER POT, 1850+ MANGANESE GLAZE, AAFA
Offered here. In excellent original condition, an American redware handthrown and molded flower pot with attached drainage pan. The lead manganese glaze on this piece is rich and beautiful and the form of the pot is pleasing and useful. There are several shallow small chips on the lower rim and base, and there is the totally expected minor loss of glaze here and there. There appears to be one tiny tight hairline at the upper rim which is old, and inconsequential to appearance and to function. The top diameter is 4 1/2" the bottom diameter is 3 7/8" and the height of this pot is 3 1/2" This hard to find example of 19th c. American pottery would make a great accent for any authentic American primitive interior. Thanks for looking into my auctions.
Vintage Antique Folk Art Rooster Arrow Weathervane Sheet Iron AAFA Americana NR
Another fun piece of rusteration or rusty gold as the American Pickers say! Rooster and large arrow mounted on a 100+ year old piece of an architectural column! It is not a line. In the eighth photo, immediately to the right of the brown mark there is what may be a three-quarter inch very tight, very small line to the outside of the clay. It may not even be a line, but I'm mentioning this only for the sake of accuracy. It does not go through. Again, it is certainly insignificant and not obvious. This great crock with be shipped USPS Parcel Select and is being offered with no reserve. RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Fuk%601d72f%2Bfg2%3E-14752ecca04-0x112-

Tall Rustic Folk Primitive Antique Wood Candle Lantern Hand Made AAFA
Tall Rustic Folk Primitive Antique Wood Candle Lantern Hand Made AAFA So. Here is a fabulous primitive antique candle lantern- it is hand made. With wood pin construction and a glass panel that lifts up for accessing the candle. This is a tall and rustic old lantern, with a tin wire handle that has a carved wood bale. It has glass on all 4 sides, and the glass on the access side sits about 1/4" above the wood lantern top so you can grab with your fingers to lift when open. ... moreAs you can see from my photos, there's a rustic hand made hole at the top for releasing the candle heat. I'm showing a candle in the well in my photos, but it will not be included. There is a fairl amount of candle wax around the well and on the base of the lantern, as well as some on the inside of the well too that you can see in my photos. The lantern is very very very dusty and dirty and needs a good bath, and that includes the candle wax mentioned above. I do not clean or mess with as found patina in any way. YOu can see that the dust on top, and inside around the well is thick- giving it a grey almost opaque appearance in my photos, but it will clean off, and clean up well- and the wood will show much better too! It measures 14" tall to the top of the lantern, 14 5/8" to the top of the posts with the pins that are at each corner, 7" by 6 3/4" at the base, 5 1/2" by 5 3/4" at the body, and it weighs 4 lbs. so it's pretty hefty with the thick glass. The removable glass has lots of little chips and nibbles all around- and you can see some of them when it is in place just along the perimeter of the wood frame- see photo 22 for an exa

1845 AAFA CARVED WOOD EARLY COLONIAL GREEN ANTIQUE LAZY KATE SPINNING WHEEL RARE
Offering today a one of a kind hand carved lazy kate. This is just a beautiful piece. This particular piece is hand carved with hearts and crosses. It has the year 1845 carved into the side. It is all wood and the bobbins are wood. And are held on by inserting a metal rod through the center of the bobbin. The spools retain the remnant of their green color. The lazy kate is in good clean condition and could be used or displayed. The joins are made by what I believe are called dovetails and a second kind of join in which a small pins or dowels of wood are inserted into a tiny hole on the other piece of wood. I have included photos of this. Measures: 14.5 high. 18 wide, 5 deep. A lazy kate holds bobbins or spools of thread or yarn and can be used to ply yarn. For example. If I handspun yarn on my spinning wheel, I could use my lazy kate to spin ... more2 or more spools of yarn together to make a thicker, stronger, warmer yarn. This would be a most wonderful gift for a handspinner and a special treasure for someone who may have an antique spinning wheel, as this could be used once again. Shipping: I offer free shipping. Which includes tracking and insurance in the United States. This piece will cost a bit to ship as it is heavy and made of wood. So please keep this in consideration when considering the price. Return policy: I have a no returns policy which I will explain. I have made every effort to note any flaws. And include many photos of the item. What you see is what you are getting. I specialize in antique and rare items. As such, age related wear and damages can be expected. Due to the fragile nature and rarity of antique items, it is not in the best interest to ship antiques back and forth many times. I am happy to answer any questions you may have, and I want you to be happy with your purchase. Ma. residents will have to pay Ma taxes.
