Quilts with early chintz are quite rare to find becasue cotton chintz was scarce and very expensive in the early 19th century so not many quilts with chintz come to the market and this one is in remarkable condition for the age. I would guess it dates it to the first half the 19th century but i'll leave the dating to the experts out there. Exquisite curvilinear quilting showing from the back! The front white muslin is a bit finer than the. Possibly homespun, 3 panel muslin on the back. It has a missing small piece ... moreof chintz as shown in the upper right quadrant. There one can see that the batting is the very early SEEDED RAW cotton! Condition is remarkable for the age, strong and sturdy with the only faults other than the missing small chintz piece are a few faint stains(as in pic 7) and one tiny area of chintz wear shown in last pic both of which are not detracting at all. Restoration would be limited to replacing the missing chintz piece. Starting at 55. with a modest reserve and a Nice BIN opportunity. SHIPPING TO USA ONLY. Antique Yellow Ware Bowl White Stripes 19th c. AAFA
This is a wonderful. Authentic piece of antique yellow ware. The white bands are raised. There are some imperfections.some were from the original production and then there are a few that came with age. Those are the small hairline and two tiny chips- one on the top lip and one on the bottom. I have included close-ups of those. The inside of the bowl is a bit darker- again. Something that comes with use and age. It measures 9.6 inches across the top and 4 inches in height. I try to describe my items to the best of my ability. All of my items are sold as-is. Simple & Lovely! AAFA~Antique Wooden Bowl~Black w/Hand-Painted Flowers~Signed~
This is a pretty antique bowl! It's handmade& signed though I can't make out the name.Maybe someone familiar with woodenware bowls could decipher it. This bowl looks like it's from the early 1900's-possibly earlier. It's some kind of wood& looks like it was turned on a lathe. It is a sort of gloss black with a hand painted bouquet of flowers at its center. Measurements are:13" diameter X 4" tall. Please look at all of my pictures carefully as this old bowl is in ANTIQUE and USED condition! Its surface has NUMEROUS SCUFF areas. Inside and out + some paint wear and"rub" maybe a good wood wax or polish could erase some of the scuffing. If not, it's still a very cool old piece, especially if you love primitives which usually look quite worn. Looking at its rim, you can see that it's not ... moreperfectly symmetrical, another feature of its being hand made. We ship once your payment shows up in paypal. Museum Quality Tramputo & Beaded Wedding Bonnet / "Provenance" / AAFA / NR
I was thrilled to find this early bonnet in an Ohio shop. According to an attached note. It was a wedding bonnet. The bonnet is all handmade tramputo(a raised sewing or embroidery technique. The quilting actually becomes raised a bit and gives it texture) To make it even more spectacular it is hand-beaded along one side of the"brim" and the back. I am not a bead expert so I am not sure if these are glass or an early plastic. Attached to the bonnet was a note, Grandma Schuller(Schulles) wedding bonnet or hat. That is Fred Webber's mother's = mother that would be his Grandma. She wore it when she got married and her coin purse her Head scarfe" Unfortunately there is no date but I would guesstimate the age to be early 1900's or perhaps even earlier. My feeling is that this should be in a museum.it is wonderful! You ... morewill love it! Condition: The bonnet has"yellowed" a bit. No visible stains and no smells. There are random threads hanging. Dimensions: Hard to measure but the back. Seam to seam horizontally is 8" From front edge, around the back to other edge is 14" The height from the middle back to top is 7" This would've been made to go over a huge bun of hair, not necessarily to fit over her head. ANTIQUE New England Schoolgirl SAMPLER c. 1818? Marion Young AAFA
ANTIQUE New England Schoolgirl SAMPLER c. 1818? Marion Young AAFA Remarkable old schoolgirl sampler from an old New England estate. Sewn by Marion Young. Exact age unknown. We believe that the year stitched on this is 1818. With the first 8 with stitching loss(now looks like a 3) Has been framed for many years, so the repairs to this already have their own age. Repairs are few, we took photos of the entire framed sampler in sections so you can look at the enlarged photos and judge for yourself. This is an Alphabet and Number sampler. With the alphabet letters in the middle section done in a style not often seen. The letters comprise of stitches that make up open circles which in formation create the letters(see photos) Must have been a lot of work, as she did not finish out the alphabet and ended with"R" Below this stitching group, ... moreyou can see her name"Marion Young" on the left side. There is a white house on center bottom. With interesting planter-like objects on either side. There are 3 pairs of animals, each pair is a different type of animal(possibly 2 sets of fowl and 1 set of dogs) There are random missing stitches due to age. But overall the stitching is remarkably complete. Colors are still strong: orange/red, several colors of green, dark brown. The white of the house has the most color fade. There are many groups of double capital letters: AY. BB, MY, JY, RY- some are repeated several times throughout the piece(maybe family members' initials) The frame dimensions are 12.75" by 18.5" The sampler is not much smaller than that. We do not know the exact dimensions of the sampler because this never has been taken out of the frame. Smokefree. No water damage. The framing was done(date unknown) by Hale& Whittemore. A shop in new Hampshire. The paper has been peeled back on the reverse and the original frame wire has been replaced by blue/yellow electrical wire. Please understand. This sampler and frame is being sold AS IS. We welcome any questions you may have. Payments ac

19th C. Turkey Red Sampler on Homespun Linen found In Maine Dated 1876 AAFA
Fantastic fresh find from Maine. A wonderful dated 1876 sampler in turkey red embroidery thread on early homespun linen, signed most likely by the school girl who made it, Annie Turner! Measures approx. 9 1/2" by 9 1/2" squared, it has been framed in an early oak frame with a lemon gold liner(that is age appropriate to this fabulous primitive sampler) The linen shows no holes or problems(a couple of very light tiny, tiny spots or specks-hard to see, but mentioning for sake of accuracy) and is a home-spun linen, which is slightly more primitive than fine linen-you will absolutely love this antique sampler! Stitched all in turkey red thread, even the young girl's name is quaint! Interesting too, that it was made during the year of the Centennial, 1876! Shipping will be $10.00 to include careful packing with insurance. Sold as-is ... moreand as-described. Please ask all questions before bidding. Let the photos help with the description-thanks for looking and good luck! RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Fuk.rp*3A%3Cd%3Ff6%3E-14712ff1411-0x10e-

Early Pair of High-Top Leather Child's Shoes / Incredible Condition! / AAFA / NR
Every child. Both girls and boys, wore shoes like this in the early 1900's. These normally were passed down through a family of children and rarely ended up in this good condition. The leather uppers as well as the soles are in exceptional condition. The heels are almost new looking, and marked US Rubber Company, in business from 1892 through 1920's before it changed names. Small Cricket Stool / Footstool / Paint Decorated / Square Nails / AAFA / NR
I found this little cricket stool locally at an antique flea market I try to hit every week. The lines are lovely with cut-outs not normally seen. The stool is early. Probably around 1900 or before. I've taken the photos outside to get true colors; sorry for the glare. It has nice square and rectangular iron nailed construction. The paint decoration is probably later, perhaps 50-60 years later. The paint is crackled in some areas as well as wear along the edges showing age. It has a great form and whimsical look! You will love it!
