Amazing c1825 French Hand Painted 3 Piece Sauce Tureen Chic & Shabby
This is an amazing circa 1825 earthenware/soft paste sauce tureen in remarkable condition for age. The first picture is shown with a pearlescent enamel handle ladle(not included) just for some perspective. It consists of three pieces. The footed bowl, the lid and the stand. 7&3/4" tall, 7&3/8" handle to handle and stand is 6&7/8" in diameter. Intricate hand painted green and gold/brown(with a bit of burgundy) floral over a lavender pink and base white. Raised roses and additional gold decorations on handles. Remarkable condition for age without chips, cracks, hairlines, flakes, stains and no crazing noted. The bowl and the stand are marked with an impressed quarter inch" N" and numbered"2307" by hand in red paint indicative of the pattern number. I am not sure of the manufacturer but this is ... morea remarkable piece in near pristine condition. I can only find an occasional tiny brown speckle or a tiny scratch on the design but no real flaws. Be sure to enlarge the pictures and look closely. Antique Transferware Capetani Covered Tureen! WOW
This is truly an exquisite antique transferware covered large oval serving dish. The handle is painted to look like a twisted branch with a pair of leaves and raised"grapes" on one side and a raised leaf on the other side. The handles have raised leaves and a bunch of grapes with little"twists" like a grape vine. The decoration has flowers and swags of leaves. Etc. An absolutely outstanding example of antique transferware. The inteior of the bowl is slightly discolored due to age and there is one miniscule nick at the rim-we have photographed, but very very small. No cracks that we can find. The mark on the bottom is hard to read, but looks like"capetani" with a"P" underneath-mayber an"M 78" and an impressed"H" Lovely hard to find piece of blue and white transferware. About 13 1/2" ... morefrom handle to handle and about 6" to the top of the"twig" handle. 7 1/2" across. There are small scratches on the outside from use. 276 Great piece by european porcelain company Sarreguemines France Faince pottery Majolica marking found on the bottom as to date it from 1865 to 1880. Depicting fruit basket with cover over a weaved basket. Item is in great shape considering age only normal signs of wear in the base. It measures tall 4 1/2" by length 7 1/4" by deep 6 1/2" Measurements are taken at the widest part. Sarreguemines Vaisselle was established in 1748 in the city of Sarreguemines in the Northeast of France. This region was chosen for natural resources needed to produce ceramic in the 18th century such as clay. An abundant water supply and wood, which was the sole source of energy. Beginning in the 19th century. Sarreguemines Vaisselle replaced clay with kaolin and wood with coal. Later gas replaced coal as the primary source of energy. 250 years ... morelater all of theses natural resources are found only miles from the Sarreguemines Vaisselle factory. Following the French-German war of 1870. The Sarreguemines region was annexed to Germany and prohibitive Customs duties were imposed. Subsequently,in 1872, the factory was transferred to the city of Digoin, 250 miles southwest, in the Burgundy region. At that time due to its outstanding reputation, Sarreguemines Vaisselle kept its name and the factory has remained in Digoin ever since. Sarreguemines Vaisselle quickly acquired fame for its quality and continuous innovation. no less than 12 gold medals were won in international competitions during the 19th century and many more since. Napoleon Bonaparte bought pieces which can still be found today at Versailles and at the Trianon. Dating Sarreguemines Pottery by the Marks: A lot of the Sarreguemines pieces are clearly marked. Antique child's tureen that I believe is Old Paris. Features pink transferware floral design with a darker more maroon trim. The quality of the porcelain is fantastic. There is a slight embossed mark on the bottom but I do not know it. Measures aprox. 2 7/8" in diameter and 2" high(including lid) No chips, cracks, repairs or crazing. I have closely inspected all pieces and have found a few minor flaws. Overall. Everything looks stunning and is certainly a collection worthy piece. Underplate: On the underplate there is two small chips under one of the handles. There is also a small hairline crack under the other handle. There is some minor crazing and signs of use such as a few surface scratches on the front of the plate. Overall it looks wonderful and has a shiny finish. Tureen Lid: The lid is also in great shape with minimal wear. It does not have any chips but I did notice one 1" long hairline crack that has developed over the years. This crack can been seen around the rim on the bottom side. There ... moreis crazing on the underside of the lid also. Tureen: The actual tureen is in very similar condition to all other pieces. ANTIQUE LEONARD VIENNA AUSTRIA VEGETABLE TUREEN W/LID Lovely antique Leonard Vienna Austria vegetable bowl/ tureen w/lid. Backmark dates the piece to approximately 1908. Likely from one of the Bohemian porcelain factories that were at one time or another a manufacturer for P.H. Leonard in one of that company's many incarnations. This particular mark was used by Anna Leonard, who also had decorating studios in Denver, Colorado and Louisville, Kentucky, as well as Martha's Vineyard after 1909. Measures appx. 11 inches long and 7 inches wide. Background is white with light maroon vines. Etc. Beautiful bow shaped handle on lid. Grand condition. Very light wear on the gold accents in spots like the handles. No chips, cracks or flakes. Up for your consideration is a beautifully decorated plate with purple and green flowers which has a 5/8" dark green ring with gold scrolling designs in it the edges of the plate have like a scalloping effct not flat and round the marks are very interesting 1st of all it is marked L.S. A very beautiful and graceful pair of finely hand painted and gilt decorated Covered entre dishs or Tureens as shown. These are a recent deacquisitionized item from a Georgia Historic house museum and were given to the museum 25 or 30 years ago from some fine old local estate whose owners wished for them to be preserved in such a museum setting. Probably no amount of money would have persuaded the original owners to sell these items which had been handed down for generations. This pair of covered dishes are painted with beautiful flowers in the manner of artists who painted for Tucker of Philadelphia about 1825-30. Probably after OLD PARIS decorations. The form is similar to silver hollowware of that period of Federal styles. Please allow time for the several(10)pictures to fully load up on your computer so you can clearly view the condition ... moreof these magnificent PORCELAIN beauties. There are a couple of slight grazed lines in one of the dish bottoms which you may overlook because they are almost invisible to the eye. Also one of the acanthus leafs has the tip broken off as I have clearly shown in several pictures but all in all the dishes are almost pristine and the gilt decoration is in amazingly perfect condition as you can see. These dishes were a treasured heirloom and were used very rarely as is obvious judging from the condition. I will be happy to have your comments in regard to your opinion as to the origin of these wonderful glazed pottery dishes which have been fired into porcelain. I also will be happy to consider any reasonable cash offer. Note the subtle color variations. It seems there is a slight buttersotch section under the handles on the covers. I am not sure of that but it may be so. You be the judge!

This is first designed circa 1750 by Franz Anton Bustelli and Joseph Zachenberger. The Rococo form features the asymmetrical shape and curves typical of the period. Decorated with elaborate naturalistic designs, the Rococo service exemplifies the great elegance and style of 18th Century Europe. As the first“Electoral Court Service, the floral decoration used in the dinnerware was a suitable replacement for fresh flowers, which had a tendency to wilt, and were frowned upon at court. Replaced by the end of the 18th Century with another service, the Cumberland dinnerware experienced a revival in 1913 when used at the wedding for the son of the Duke of Cumberland. ... moreThe work was first commissioned for the great Grand father. Who was Prince William(William Augustus) 26 April 1721— 31 October 1765) was a younger son of George II of Great Britain and Caroline of Ansbach, and Duke of Cumberland from 1726. He is generally best remembered for his role in putting down the Jacobite Rising at the Battle of Culloden in 1746, and as such is also known as"Butcher" Cumberland. After Culloden, he went on to enjoy a successful military career, but following the Convention of Klosterzeven in 1757, he never held active military command, and switched his attentions to politics and horse-racing. A new one of this(still in production) retails for approximately $42.000.00 and is in perfect condition. The $42,000.00 figure is based upon the same form and size, with only slightly different hand painted decoration. The Tureen measures approximately 9 1/4” height. 9 3/4” width and 14 1/2” length. Rare Worcester Chamberlain Porcelain Tureen& Stand C. 1786- 1810 Here we have one very rare Small Tureen with lid and matching under plate(rare to find all three intact) This rare little treasure with cover measuring 6 inches in height including the finial and the length is 6 inches. The teapot stand. Oval in shape measures 6 inches in length and the width is 4 3/4 inches and the inside of the lid has a hand written in gold'Chamberlain's Worcester' dating each piece from 1786- 1810. The pattern number is hand written and is number 184. The lid of the tureen is without fault with a small amount of rubbing and usual lost of gilding due to 200 years of use, to be expected appreciated.
