The back is still very solid and has the original pull which is a little crooked due to the fact that the screw is bent that is attached to the pull. The scissor hardware for the door is all there. The two boards on the top are good and strong. It is a little dirty but will clean up nicely. Pictures will show you views of this item. 1900-1915 Globe Wernicke Quarter Sawn Oak Stacking Bookcase Section that has the banded sides and is all original with original sticker in the back Pattern 113 grade 299 Standard E 13 1/2 unit Globe Wernicke Co. It is approx 13 1/2" deep 34" wide and 15 1/2" tall. The original glass is good. The back is still very solid and has the original pull which is a little crooked due to the fact that the screw is bent that is attached to the pull. The scissor hardware for the door is all there. The two boards on the top are good and strong. It is a little dirty but will clean up nicely. Pictures will show you views of this item. Antique Globe wernicke Barrister stacking unit. 34 inches wide. 11 inches deep. The section has no breals, splits or repairs. I=The section has all the door hardware and scissor mechanism ans opens with ease. The door has the original brass knob. The section also has the original antique wavy glass and bands around the base of the section. The back is in excellent condition with no rippling or warping of the wood. It fits with all globe D sizes and macey sections. Reaal nice dark quartersawn oak finish. No surprises. I would prefer local pick up but would look into shipping. Five Section Globe-Wernicke Oak Sectional Bookcase- ca. 1940's
This five piece oak sectional bookcase also has the original top and bottom pieces. It is missing three doors and needs re-finished but when that is done you will have a $1500+ piece of furniture. I'm not sure of the age. This is one of the first pieces of furniture my parents got after they were married in 1946. I'm not sure if they got it used or new. This is located in Hagerstown, Maryland, just minutes from I-81 and I-70. It is currently in a storage unit so we will have to coordinate times for you to look at it. This is an unusual size Globe Wernicke Stacking bookcase. In quarter sawn oak. It stands 51 1/4" tall, and only 25 1/2" wide, base is just a bit wider. It is 11 1/8" deep, and the base adds a bit more, to 12 1/2" deep. Shows some small scratches here and there, which I have tried to show in the pics. This will have to be picked up, or you will have to make arrangements to have it shipped. I am apprx 2 hours from Pittsburgh, Buffalo, and Cleveland, and about 20 minutes west of the Erie Airport. Hi here we have a lovely 3- tier oak glazed globe wernicke bookcase. Comes with inside glass shelving and mirrors as backing. The choice to have these in use is entirely up to you but will send them along with bookcase all the same. There is some faded signs here and there as shown on photos. These are just due to age as to be expected. All sliding doors are in full mechanical working order. Comes in four sections so it's easy to move around if need be. Rockwell-Wabash Barrister Bookcase Section Very nice find. Rockwell-Wabash stuff never shows up. Measures out the same as an"E" size Globe Wernicke or Macey. Original finish. Has the step back board, compatible with"E" or"D" size stacks. Quarter sawn oak. Uses a hinge/slide system nearly identical to the early Globe system. NO door knob or glass. With a few bottom parts this would drop right onto a Globe or Macey base. As you can see in the last picture a Globe top(or section) fits nicely on top. The Globe top in the picture is NOT included. The bottom board has been broken then nailed back on backwards, it looks bad like it is but simply needs to be flipped and glued. Dimensions: 34 1/2" wide x 16" tall x 13 7/8" deep at the deepest part = the step back board. Condition: Far from mint but excellent ... morefor restoration. See pictures. Rockwell-Wabash Barrister Bookcase Base Very nice find. Rockwell-Wabash stuff never shows up. Measures out the same as an"E" size Globe Wernicke or Macey. Original finish. Has a missing trim strip in the right front corner. Missing some of the corner glue blocks. Quarter sawn oak. This would make an awesome base for an early"wernicke system" bookcase with the cast iron side bands. Dimensions: 34 1/2" wide x 8" tall x 13 3/4" deep including the corner trim. Antique Globe Wernicke Quartersawn Oak Barrister Bookcase Section D? Grade 299
This is a barrister bookcase section made by the Globe Wernicke Co. I believe it is a model D and grade 299. It measures aprox. 34" wide x 11" deep x 10 3/4" high. The glass is broken as you can see and will be removed prior to shipping. There is some white paint on one side and nicks and dings, otherwise it is complete and in good condition. We also have some other sections, tops and doors presently listed. It is available for pickup or can be delivered by Fed Ex ground for 24.80 to the lower 48 states. Please e-mail with any questions.
