This auction is for a neat and petite Oak Smokers Stand or Cabinet from Scotland. This is one cute small cabinet. Under the top. An arm swings out that used to hold an ashtray. I would assume it was a metal ashtray, but it did not make the trip from Scotland. It's petite& cute you could put in in any room. In the kitchen, it would make a killer spice cabinet or jelly cupboard. In a den or family room it would make a wonderful candle stand. In your bathroom it would make a great place to store your paper or toiletries. Again, it could go in any room from your kitchen to your bathroom, you just have to let your imagination run wild for the many uses of this little cabinet. Mahogany Candle Lamp Fern Stand Carved Horse Heads This is a beautiful mahogany three leg stand with carved stylized horse heads on the legs. Originally i thought the wood was walnut but upon close inspection of the grain i now believe it is mahogany. The stand is unmarked so it is difficult to determine age but i think this is from the 1900's perhaps a little earlier. This stand has a very folk art feel to it and i believe it was home made. In the top are 3 concentric circles that were turned into the surface though i am not sure why. The stand measures 31 inches tall 15 inches in diameter Condition: The stand is in very good condition with no breaks or cracks. The top looks funny and it looks like it was once repaired but i am not sure it was. I believe it was home made and they probably used whatever wood they had which is why the ... moretop looks repaired. It was probably not professionally jointed. If you look at the top from beneath you can see the texture of the two pieces of wood is different but the top has the concentric grooves which i think is original. This is a vintage Angel Candle Stand it is in it's original box and it holds a taper candle. It is all white Porcelain. She stands 8' tall. This was purchased original in A&S for $4.00 per the sticker on the top of the box. There are no chips. Cracks or glazing that I can find. $275 Antique Candle Plant Primitive Family Table Walnut or Mahogany Wood Stand
This auction is for a very old candle/plant stand. It is from the 1800's. It has been in my family for many generations. I am not sure if it is walnut or mahogany. I was told it was walnut but just not sure how to tell. The photos show the condition of the stand. You can see on the top and the bottom of the top piece. It does come off and you can glue it permantly if you like. When I ship it I will wrap the round piece off of the stand and that will protect it better. I just left it as is. The top piece has some seperation in the wood and you can see on the bottom where it has been held together with old clips. It has a little area where the wood is chipped on the bottom rim. Exquisitely detailed dressertop handkerchief or glove box candlestand from Eastlake dresser. Carved compass panel and crest. This imposing piece stands 23 3/4" high, is 10 1/4" wide and 7 1/2" deep. The drawer interior is 5 x 7 2 1/4" Primitive hand dovetailing on front and back of drawer, interior woods are right for the period. There are traces and one piece of the hinges which originally attached it to the dresser. The finish and brasses are absolutely original. It is in great shape for its age, as pictured. The structural pieces are firm, the two carved pieces are loose but could easily be more firmly attached, but I don't mess with antiques of this age.
